Hmmm, interesting, thank you. I guess that’s why there’s many fee paying schools with grammar in their name. Also, so what is upper middle class thought to be? Born in to it but not technically the ‘upper classes’? I think I’m clear on upper class and working class but everything in between, not so much Grin

Judashascomeintosomemoney · 04/10/2020 13:53

Those of us who were total smartarses and got free places in independent schools on the back of our 11+ results didn't have to pay either, we were treated as though we'd got full scholarships
Ahh, was that Direct Grant? Sorry I’m probably derailing somewhat....

yearinyearout · 04/10/2020 14:29

Well he's infinitely better looking than Boris but I do find his voice a bit grating.

yearinyearout · 04/10/2020 14:34

Are you saying that his parents occupations automatically make them working class? Because that certainly isn't my view nor experience...nurses for example come from many and varied backgrounds

Well having a toolmaker and nurse as parents certainly doesn't give him the privileged background you're suggesting does it? I would say that is a solid working class background.

user1471538283 · 04/10/2020 17:34

Oooh I do. I love a man who just will not let shit go (important stuff not any old shit). I bet he paces well

jcyclops · 04/10/2020 17:49

One of his faces is OK, the other one not so much.

Engage Smug Mode.

No way

EvaHoffman · 04/10/2020 17:54

Jojobar why did you say this? It's totally made up.

From a wealthy upper middle class family, would never have got where he is but for that. No more relatable to the average person in the street than the PM which is why he won't be the one to change Labours fortunes.

LockdownLump · 04/10/2020 17:56

I can't bear Frankie Boyle, but his description of Starmer was spot on. He look like someone playing the prime minister on a Spice Girls movie.

That's not verbatim, but it something like that.

Livelovebehappy · 04/10/2020 18:10

Nope. But i really, really like him, in a none sexual way. Comes across as someone you could trust. And I say that as a Tory supporter.

ABCDay · 04/10/2020 18:28

If I was forced (at gunpoint), to play Fuck/Marry/Kill involving Keir Starmer, BoJo and Donald Trump, KS would definitely be getting pumped.

I've just hurt myself laughing at that GrinGrinGrin

teezletangler · 04/10/2020 18:36

I knew this would be the question as soon as I saw the thread title Grin

Yes

BloggersBlog · 04/10/2020 18:49

Lord np.

Tny, close set eyes? Just No

CarrotInATree · 04/10/2020 18:55

@Jojobar Why spout such utter nonsense. Keir Starmer’s background might just about scrape into lower middle class, you’re just telling outright lies there. And the idea that he’ll be unsuccessful as Labour leader because his background isn’t working class enough?! Have you heard of Labour Prime Minister Tony Blair? Know anything about his background?

CoRhona · 04/10/2020 19:37

No. But I am firmly ABB (Anyone But Boris) for anything Wink

Bubbletrouble43 · 04/10/2020 19:43

Fuckmarrykill 🤣🤣🤣🤣

CoffeeandCroissant · 04/10/2020 19:52

@areyoubeingserviced

I find Chris Whitty extremely sexy. It’s the combination of calm authority and fierce intelligence. Keir Starmer, is an intelligent man, but doesn’t quite do it for me.
Whitty, sexy? Hell to the no!

Jon "Claude" Van Tam all the way. Grin

Ohtherewearethen · 04/10/2020 20:06

@Jojobar - I'm very doubtful about your claim to have known KS for years and that he has only got where he is today because of his upper middle class background. This suggests that you don't just not know him but haven't even taken 20 seconds to Google anything about him. I bet you tell everyone that you know him when really your dad's sister's neighbour's daughter's brother in law's mate was his milkman. You've really embarrassed yourself.
The Middleton family are upper middle class. Passing the 11+ and going to a good school, which then became fee-paying, does not make someone's background middle class let alone upper middle class. He has become the leader of the Labour party because he was seen as a suitable person for the job. What better background could he have come from - the son of a tool maker and nurse, who was bright and used it wisely to do very well for himself. I'd say that's pretty inspirational to many.

It will be in that order because...it’s Starmer; BoJo will be unfaithful anyway so no worries about marrying him as it won’t be forever; the last part is, unfortunately, too easy to undertake. Grin

Vargas · 04/10/2020 20:18

God no. But if I had to choose I'd have him a million times before Bojo.

Liverbird77 · 04/10/2020 20:19

No! Matt Hancock though...yum!

kyles101 · 04/10/2020 20:21

Ha, I just admitted to this last week Blush

Theterrible42s · 04/10/2020 20:24

He's totally not my type physically, but he definitely makes me a bit tingly when he's being all calm and competent. Competence is very sexy in a man Smile
