It's all about the fecking hampers round here.

And Christmas Eve boxes, three quids worth of tat for a tenner.

FizzyPink · 03/10/2020 16:29

The shopping baskets he’s clearly just nicked from Sainsbury’s and wants £25 for Hmm

I hate the hampers filled with stuff from poundland.

mcdog · 03/10/2020 16:30

A selection of painted pebbles! Again, something you do with your children.
There seems to be someone locally making some rather lovely, tasteful quality decorations for a reasonable price! I was quite shocked!

I made those chocolate sleighs myself... kinda cute.

No proper tat but got unreasonable rage a tithe Cadbury boxes for £15 with only £6 worth of chocolate.... £9 for the cardboard box Angry

Iola4 · 03/10/2020 16:37

Omg! Turnedouttoes, retro shopping baskets! That person is a marketing genius. I don't think the receiver of those wonderful baskets would be too pleased with being informed of their Retro pedigree though 😂.

notso · 03/10/2020 16:37

I'm confused by Gromit...
By the look of it Gromit is also wondering why he's there too! Grin

Cam2020 · 03/10/2020 16:45

Do you get the basket of washing on the background too?

LindaEllen · 03/10/2020 16:52

There must be something wrong with me .. because most of the things that have been posted on here, I think 'that's nice' :').

manicinsomniac · 03/10/2020 16:54

I don't know - to be fair, those sleighs looks like they would cost you £6 to buy the components anyway?
2 large chocolate bars on the bottom - £3?
2 candy cane runners - £1?
2 curlywurlys - 50p?
Poppets - 50p?
Something small - Freddo maybe? - 20p?
Chocolate Santa - 50p?
Ribbon - 10p?

That's £5.80. So not much profit being made. The seller could be saving some money by buying in bulk I suppose. But if you wanted to make just a couple with your children, I don't think you'd get much change from £6. And if you wanted to buy a Christmas themed selection of sweets for a stocking etc and couldn't be bothered to compile it yourself, I don't really think this is a rip off.

Mrsmadevans · 03/10/2020 16:55

@notso

We made the sleigh things for a PTA fundraiser last year Blush

I've only seen this so far £4

@LMW1990

Reminds of the 12 days of Christmas handmade thing that was being sold on eBay! Anyone else remember that one?
The centre piece that was a pile of caulk with plastic figures on and cost £1,000? I just had a look for it but can't find it.
HotToCold · 03/10/2020 16:59

I actually like the cork naivety :)

Iola4 · 03/10/2020 17:00

My cousin started "upcycling"in lockdown.

I'm only still friends with her on FB so I can judge. She's bound to do this sort of nonsense.

HotToCold · 03/10/2020 17:02

I like the reindeers too:)

Do i suppose to find these things bad 😂

Rudolphian · 03/10/2020 17:04

@manicinsomniac
Large bar of choc 79p x 2 =1.58
10 candy canes 59p = 11p
Crispy rolls 1.00 for 5 = 40p
Poppets 30p
Freddy 1.00 for 5 = 20p
Father Xmas choc 10 for 1.00= 10p
Based on Home bargains prices.
