to not believe Trump has Covid?

Well, MN, does he or doesn't he?

YANBU - no, he doesn't have it
YABU - yes he probably does, why would they lie?

Is this just some ploy to miss next debates and make him look 'tough' when he sails through it without getting ill?

@PerkingFaintly

Goodness, yes, those Melania tapes!!

She's just so... whiny.

I didn't have a strong opinion about her before but now, ew! Doesn't sound exactly thrilled at having the opportunity to serve her adopted country, does she? Oh the horror of having to choose Christmas decorations! Poor lamb sounds exHAUSTed from running her finger down a catalogue. Her resentment floweth over.

I don't think the positive test result is a hoax, but the timing is good for the Republicans.

She never wanted to be First Lady. When she married Trump, she signed up for something else.
ItsAlwaysSunnyOnMN · 03/10/2020 11:40

He gets over it eats a bit of humble pie some will start to see him in a different light

But can Trump keep the act up I’m not so sure

Certainly good for his election chances (providing he doesn’t become too unwell)

GeorgeDavidson · 03/10/2020 13:33

He’s taking an experimental drug. If that’s true, he’s not well at all.
The ‘pray for him’ people are getting in my nerves, he’s a virus denying super spreader who held rallies in the middle of a pandemic. He doesn’t deserve prayers.

Trump would not even acknowledge the existence of humble pie, @ItsAlwaysSunnyOnMN, unless he's trying to force it into someone else's chops.

He'll never ever eat it, and he'll use his survival of the virus to boost his virus-minimising rhetoric.

Or he'll die.

No pie will be involved.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 03/10/2020 14:47

I would rather that he doesn't die. Not at this point, it makes the whole election situation too damn' complicated for words.

Him being ill enough to have to shut up a bit would suit me just fine, though.

DGRossetti · 03/10/2020 17:16

Seems fair ...

to not believe Trump has Covid?
jcyclops · 03/10/2020 17:27

A few weeks back the media were discussing scenarios of what might happen following a Biden win in the election. A lot of the ideas were around Trump not accepting the result and refusing to give up the presidency, but one struck me as much more likely. This was for Trump to resign as president, allowing Mike Pence to take over (until January 20th). Pence would immediately issue a presidential pardon to Trump and his family and close advisors to prevent all possible prosecutions.
With a Covid stricken Trump having a "genuine" reason to step down, I now see this scenario has the most likely outcome.

DGRossetti · 03/10/2020 17:29

Hmm

Presidential pardons only apply to federal offences.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 03/10/2020 18:40

Thank goodness for that!

So ordinary theft and fraud and money-laundering would still be wating in the wings?

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 03/10/2020 18:40

waiting dammit

ddl1 · 03/10/2020 19:35

I thought at first that he likely didn't, but since he's actually gone to hospital, I think he probably does. His personal physician might lie, but I don't think the hospital would.

occa · 03/10/2020 19:41

He's only peripherally 'in hospital' in that the President's Suite is in the hospital premises. He won't be being attended by hospital staff but by his own medical staff or using hospital equipment, it's all private just for him, or fed from a hospital kitchen, there's a private kitchen etc in the Suite.

He's completely disconnected from the regular hospital, staff and patients.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 03/10/2020 20:01

So he has a staff of thirty or so doctors? Wow. There were an awful lot, far more than one man really needs I would have thought, at the photo-op outside the hospital.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 03/10/2020 20:04

(Actually I exaggerated; it's only thirteen, I think. Still seems a lot to me.)

Jamiefraserskilt · 04/10/2020 01:40

Questions:
How many tests has he had since the "positive" one?
Doc said he had nasal congestion. This is odd as nasal congestion is not a common symptom of covid but is of a bad cold.
Boris looked like shit on a stick. Trump looked ok. Why?
Why hasn't Kayleigh got it? She was there, does not wear a mask and is in close contact with him during the incubation period?
Why hasn't his new supreme court candidate got it? She was right there next to him?
He doesn't want people not to be calm and downplayed it. Is he downplaying now?
Why does it take ten masked and white coated people to make one statement?
If he was taking HDC how come he caught it?
In a litigious country, Why would they give him an untested antibody treatment? The risk is enormous.
I am very sceptical.

turnitonagain · 04/10/2020 01:53

@Jamiefraserskilt Amy Coney Barrett (SC nominee) says she had COVID in the summer. So that’s why she doesn’t have it now.

There are around 10 attendees of the event now positive.

Jamiefraserskilt · 04/10/2020 02:10

Here's another theory.
Rioting
Covid
Lies
Press pressure
Republican party people turning
Awful debate
Recession
Impending loans expiry
Tax return scandal

Has this finally made his party lose confidence in his ability to win the election for them so they pulled the plug? All those key people involved in his campaign, PR, management etc will be out of sight for 14 days minimum......

Trump have allergies, you often hear him sniffles a lot in his past speech and debates. My son use it for his allergies as well.
blueberrypie0112 · 04/10/2020 02:28

As far as other people, maybe they already have the COVID-19 so they are immune... for now?

YNK · 04/10/2020 03:05

I don't think things are looking too good for Trump right now.

Onpause · 04/10/2020 03:08

He will win anyway, so it doesn't matter either way

PhilSwagielka · 04/10/2020 05:04

That’s what scares me.

ddl1 · 04/10/2020 08:47

As regards the other people: several have indeed tested positive. And not everyone who is exposed gets it. Some of the others may have had it already, in some cases asymptomatically. Some may just be lucky.

GabsAlot · 04/10/2020 11:02

either way he'll spin it to his advantage

im so great im so strong-or

sympathy for the ill president

This. Whatever way it falls, assuming he's well enough to keep going, he will
