Might be all the stress in the world at the moment but it’s made me think about what I’d give for a couple of doves and the clammy hands that come with them. Don’t think my heart could take it now Sad

This girl would be in her early Eighties today... but sums up LSD well.

''I lived in a monochromatic world''...

Mariola321 · 28/09/2020 01:48

The days after would be too much now!

FrankiesKnuckle · 28/09/2020 01:52

Plenty of day raves (Pre covid) to relive our youth! I go to 4/5 a year.... it's all about the Mandy these days.

Caned it back in the 90s at big raves like world dance and dreamscape or smaller venues like sterns 😎 pills, sometimes speed but the paranoia comedown from speed was awful.
Used coke and E quite a bit from the mid to late 90s (bagleys, the cross, Camden palace, turnmills, the fridge, mass, the end) 2007/8

Great days, great music.
I do listen to new stuff, Just stumbled across Franky Wah on Spotify, also love Bicep, camelPhat, cristoph. Can't beat the 90s tho.

I always feel so lucky to have lived and raved in London in the 90s.My favourites were Whirlygig, Escape from Samsara and Return to the Source at the Fridge and Strawberry Sundays. I lived within walking distance of Club UK so we often ended up in there after 3 AM when it was half price! :D Thankfully we weren't there the night it got raided, but a friend was. He tried to walk out covering his face as the police were videoing everyone, and walked into the back of a police horse, which gave him a hell of a boot! Also went to a fair few illegal raves in derelict building, random fields etc. Some of them were a bit scary though, but god we all felt invincible in those days! I wouldn't do it again, but my god I'm glad I did!

Ickle37 · 28/09/2020 01:58

🥺😉😊😬. The days.

dayknight19 · 28/09/2020 02:00

Oh good old days!
The Fridge, Camden Palace, Fabric!
Remember walking into a club at midnight and then the lights turning on 5 am - literally felt like I was there for 10 minutes:)
Once remember seeing a guy dressed as Pac-Man in the middle of the dance floor - still not sure if that was real or not!

oakleaffy · 28/09/2020 02:07

Sums up the feels for me....

Mariola321 · 28/09/2020 02:10

A few times a year I vape some weed. Thats enough for me now, doesn’t take very much. Makes music sounds so good. But only when I have few days off.

Silvergreen · 28/09/2020 02:34

I go to a festival every year with friends and take it - just once a year - it's pure joy.

Maskedcrusader · 28/09/2020 02:40

Let's hear the whistle posse one more time!

tobee · 28/09/2020 03:05

I'm enjoying this thread, living your pasts vicariously Grin. I was a little bit too old and boring and scared for the 90s club scene but threads like this are great to see how happy everyone was!

You'd be surprised... No one is too old.

As for a previous Poster who wrote ''REPORTED" I bet she partakes of alcohol....

A very staid Christian woman came to a Free festival and decided to take LSD...We said we'd look after her... Took her to a churchyard {Where she wanted to go} and she could only say ''It's wonderful I had no idea''...

Consciousness expanding... She is in her 60's now.

HollyBollyBooBoo · 28/09/2020 04:34

Don't miss E but do miss the '90s, just the best decade of my life.

squeekums · 28/09/2020 05:02

squeekums · 28/09/2020 05:05

allformykids · 28/09/2020 05:22

This is making me so old - every now and then I like to watch ' human traffic' just to reminisce!!!

squeekums · 28/09/2020 05:34

That's STILL my all time favorite movie.
Craddle64 · 28/09/2020 05:38

Actually i don't drink. Not sure what your point is, drugs are illegal in the uk. Might as well reminiscence of good ol' days of stabbing and robbing.

pinksparkleunicorns · 28/09/2020 05:45

I've never tried E, maybe born a decade too late but this is my favourite thread ever and it's made me smile. What I wouldn't give for a night off aged 32 with three kids to try my first E!

The negative nancies in here though 😂🤣😂 seriously, get a life!

Craddle64 · 28/09/2020 05:55

If by a life you mean miss E, take drugs, and break the law then no thanks.

DownThePlath · 28/09/2020 05:57

Get off the thread then?

squeekums · 28/09/2020 06:03

As someone who obviously has no experience in the scene, why are you even here? To look down and tut tut people? That's pretty sad and pathetic really and says more about you than us.

Many of us have memories that will last a lifetime, have felt the love, freedom, creativity and pure joy of the scene with ZERO ill affects. You can believe your b.s. "drugs are bad - mmmkay" mantra but with no experience, your talking out your ass

Craddle64 · 28/09/2020 06:08

Oh excuse mr i thought this was mumsnet not prodrugs website i will get my coat 😂

Hyperfish101 · 28/09/2020 06:20

There has been a really good Radio 5 documentary about rave culture. It is still on BBC Sounds.
