Might be all the stress in the world at the moment but it’s made me think about what I’d give for a couple of doves and the clammy hands that come with them. Don’t think my heart could take it now Sad

I don't know what that means?

StillNoFuckingEyeDeer · 27/09/2020 21:45

YANBU

Rabblemum · 27/09/2020 21:45

I get it. Find a replacement, I go sea swimming, it pumps a tone of happy chemicals around me and is great for my mood. This is a good time to start as the sea is at its “warmest”. Look at why you liked the pills so much and try to replace what’s missing in your life.

RickOShay · 27/09/2020 21:45

We could all feel the love Grin

CroutonCrab · 27/09/2020 21:49

rabblemum hmm a sea would be a lot harder to get a hold of than some pills in London but definitely not as good for the heart Grin

The 90s really were the best decade ever.
The cold war was over, the war against terror yet to start and clubbing was the best in the world.

Flapjak · 27/09/2020 21:52

Yanbu!! Disco biscuits/doves, i forget all the names and varieties. It was a fun time. Ice pops on the dance floor! I always seemed to spend a long time having really important conversations in the toilets!!

amieejust · 27/09/2020 21:53

Never took it as was too scared to. 90s clubbing was the best though.

Timeforabiscuit · 27/09/2020 21:54

YANBU - I was dreaming of a packed dingy basement club, thumping bass and sweat dripping from the ceiling.

So many people crammed in and not a shit given Grin

Stringervest · 27/09/2020 21:55

YANBU

Aloethere · 27/09/2020 21:57

Haha, sometimes I do think back wistfully, I know it wouldn't be the same now though. I think I miss feeling so completely carefree and in the moment the most. I haven't done anything since I have had kids, it wouldn't feel right, I have too much to lose.

I now run to try and get happy chemicals, it sucks.

Southernsoftie76 · 27/09/2020 22:02

I must have been a seriously boring young person in the 90’s, I never went raving or clubbing and never touched drugs! Think I may have missed out after reading some of these posts!

Whatnext2018 · 27/09/2020 22:03

Yanbu..oh mid to late 90’s..15–18 years old...take me back!
The feeling of ‘Coming up’ as you walked into the club (if you timed taking it perfectly beforehand)
Dancing until 6 when the lights came up, a load of you back to someone’s for the night/morning and the inevitable comedown.

No camera phones, real posing, botox, boob jobs (well not many I don’t think!) or big lips..dancing in Adidas trainers and short skirts and crop tops.
The music, the atmosphere, the buzz.
It’s like some far off land..another life, now I’m early 40’s with a toddler 😂
Anyone from Manchester way? Bowlers, Hacienda, The Boardwalk, Cream (Liverpool obvs)

SleepyRoo · 27/09/2020 22:04

I remember thinking, as a 19 yo , "my brain will probably never experience happiness and joy like this again" .... and I was right. Of course I've been happy and joyful at various points in life, but not in that exact E way. Drugs are a bit scary like that

The comedown, though 😳😱

JustFrigginNameChange · 27/09/2020 22:08

No; the come down is never worth it!

Whatnext2018 · 27/09/2020 22:08

I was less E, more speed baby though..haven’t done anything like that for YEARS..would be too weird for me now and it belonged to the time and place then..every day and night was just all about excitement. It feels like a very long time ago but also yesterday at the same time...strange.
I did used to get very drunk and dance around to old house tunes up until my Dd was born, no time even for that now!

MysweetAudrina · 27/09/2020 22:08

Oh God no, the skag and the come down and not being able to sleep for hours after you wanted to because you had to get and up and pee for about 4 hours first. The serotonin depletion on the following Wednesday and low mood. The craving for another one. The bit I loved was after the clubbing in someone's house warm and having a split and a cup of tea.

I'm all about the yoga and clean living now wouldn't go back for love nor money.

Honeybeexo · 27/09/2020 22:09

People die taking E’s yet you miss it? Wow.

Evileyecherry · 27/09/2020 22:11

Never did. Never would. I think it’s irresponsible to glorify drug taking too.

Each to their own.

YANBU I couldn’t (wouldn’t) do it now but have some amazing memories of 90s - the music, the euphoria, total strangers being so lovely to each other ..
