Might be all the stress in the world at the moment but it’s made me think about what I’d give for a couple of doves and the clammy hands that come with them. Don’t think my heart could take it now Sad

I can’t relate. My best friends 20 year old sister died from taking e that was laced with some other drug. Never touched it after that happened.

Rosehip10 · 28/09/2020 06:51

Grow up.

Byallmeans · 28/09/2020 06:53

YANBU and Christ what a good job no fucker had mobile phones that could take pictures Grin

drspouse · 28/09/2020 06:56

I'm a bit older than you lot and enjoyed my clubbing years on alcohol quite happily.

Rosehip10 · 28/09/2020 06:59

You know what is disgusting? Middle class drug use, usually with the vague "doesn't hurt anyone" ideas - from the same people who are the first to hand wring on here about poverty, tory governments, black lives matter etc while ignoring the fact that drug dealers and drug crime are exploiting many of the poorest and vulnerable in society - but that's okay as long as you don't see that.

pinksparkleunicorns keep your eye out for the chance, the first time is the best so I envy you! That's what is good about e actually. Like most drugs the first time is the best, but it loses effect each time. But unlike other drugs, taking more to compensate doesn't work. So it's self limiting in that way.

Rabblemum · 28/09/2020 07:18

Rosehip10 I’m totally sober now and completely skint. I kind of agree, buying illegal drugs is never “fair trade” so yes it does harm people. Personality I think they should be legal, and made safer.

I’ve had to find things that are exciting and give me an adrenaline rush without resorting to drugs, there’s more to life than poisoning yourself.

MyMessyHouse · 28/09/2020 07:20

I'm with you, used to go to lots of travellers raves in the west country early 90s.
Some of the best nights of my life was spent jumping around a field until the early hours on the pink callys!
I don't think my mum frends would ever believe that I was that person, I'm now a very boring fat middle aged woman who can barely handle more than one glass of wine!

SimonJT · 28/09/2020 07:20

Ah yes, 22 year old me would be disgusted with 32 year old me!

Pelleas · 28/09/2020 07:21

No. I loved the 90s but I wouldn't touch Ecstasy with a barge pole.

CrunchyCarrot · 28/09/2020 07:23

I had a great time when young without ever touching any drugs or having sex! Go figure! Grin

CatMagic · 28/09/2020 07:25

@QueenOfPain oh my gosh, I could have written this myself. So true. It is so terribly bittersweet to listen to the old songs - such a feeling grows about 'how things were', and it is difficult to shake off. I haven't touched pills for about 15 years but would never say I regretted taking them. It was an eye opening experience for the mind and soul. It never leaves you.

Rosehip10 · 28/09/2020 07:25

@Rabblemum It's not really people remembering their youth what they I have done in the past, it's the people on this and similar threads who casually drop in stuff like "I'm a responsible parent now, only occasionally do the odd bit of coke" for example. Personal choice and all that, but drop the hypocrisy like "doesn't harm anyone"

Benjispruce2 · 28/09/2020 07:29

Who knows what damage you’ve all done to yourselves and you shouldn’t be on here glorifying taking illegal substances that have ruined people’s lives through abuse and supply.
MNHQ??? This ok is it?

I agree with this. Drugs such as E should be legalised and the supply controlled. E is pretty much harmless until/unless it is cut with something else; all the negative aspects around it come from the fact that it is prohibited.

TheTrollFairy · 28/09/2020 07:32

I was really confused as to what doves had to do with clammy hands! Grin

Wasn’t personally for me but I miss the freedom of years gone by, especially at the moment. I always wonder what 16 year old me would have thought about this pandemic, I don’t think I would have given a shit...

Rocknroller42 · 28/09/2020 07:33

Can't quite believe I'm reading this thread on MN, the place where you're frowned upon for having more than thimble full of wine once a week...

Anyway, I never touched chemical drugs. I was always too much of a chicken. Booze and weed yes, but I always had this horrible thought that pills and the like could instantly kill me so I never bothered. I do miss the freedom of youth though, don't we all?

Morgan12 · 28/09/2020 07:34

Jesus Christ calm down. Alcohol is just as bad you know. Peoples lives are ruined by alcohol addiction. Many die from it. I've had two family members die from it actually. But I'm guessing you all drink?

😮 how can you possibly drink alcohol when it ruins so many lives and kills people?

Drugs are only stigmatised in this way because they are illegal.

Alcohol's not a drug, it's a drink.

BroomHandledMouser · 28/09/2020 07:42

I though you meant E! The entertainment channel 🤣

Morgan12 · 28/09/2020 07:44

@thedancingbear alcohol is a drug.

Tadpolesandfroglets · 28/09/2020 07:46

@thedancingbear it most definitely is a drug.
It is classed as a depressant, meaning that it slows down vital functions—resulting in slurred speech, unsteady movement, disturbed perceptions and an inability to react quickly.

As for how it affects the mind, it is best understood as a drug that reduces a person’s ability to think rationally and distorts his or her judgment.

Browneyesbigbum · 28/09/2020 07:47

drugs?

Lonelycrab · 28/09/2020 07:47

Alcohol's not a drug, it's a drink mmmmkay Hmm

Well this thread turned out to be as expected.... won’t someone think of the baby robins😱😱

Personally didn’t like E but each to their own.
