Quite fancied a pair of the tiny ankle uggs this winter, my 17 year old sister tells me they are so 2012!!😂
Opinions?

My mate says only people who think having a bouncer as a boyfriend is desirable wear uggs

Your mate sounds like a tit

@SparklesAllOver

Have to say I also have the Wilcox? Biker boots and have worn them in rain and sniw for 3 yrs and they still look good.
So do I (bought second hand from eBay!), and I adore them, especially with dresses.

I also have a pair of the more 'normal' ones. It's my second pair. I wear them a lot in the winter because I have Raynaud's and so like to keep my feet warm. I don't give a fuck if they're 'chavvy' - it's like wearing soft, warm clouds on my feet.

(DH is a data manager - I'll tell him to consider a change of career Grin)

nosswith · 28/09/2020 08:04

Very expensive for what they are.

StCharlotte · 28/09/2020 08:12

They're known as Cornish pasty boots in my circle. Not but I shall be wearing my black mini fluffs with pride and no socks.

They also make my okayish legs look surprisingly skinny.

It's a yay from me.

StCharlotte · 28/09/2020 08:13
  • not pretty
TheNoodlesIncident · 28/09/2020 08:18

Just beware though that if there is anything unusual about your gait (like a big toe that sticks up) , they'll perish really quickly and be a terrible waste of money.

Yeah, my bunion wore a big hole in the side of mine. They were the most comfortable boots I'd ever had though, I got them on offer so they weren't too ridiculous cost wise. I probably did get my money's worth out of them, but I don't think I would buy them again as they are limited to reasonable weather only if you wear them outside.

I bought black ones as the tan colour always reminded me of caveman boots, like what Fred Flintstone would wear if he decided against bare feet.

Crystal87 · 28/09/2020 08:19

I think they are outdated. They are hard to walk in, they feel like slippers on my feet and I always clench my toes when walking in them as they feel like they're going to come off.

onemorecupofcoffeefortheroad · 28/09/2020 08:23

I don't care that they're dated I love them. Still think they look great - but I do only wear them for dog walking, autumnal walks in the woods and pottering around the garden. Cosy and comfortable.

boomboomg · 28/09/2020 08:36

YABU they're so 2012!!

But, I do have other Ugg boots just ones that look like regular boots , don't say Ugg anywhere on them that's noticeable and are fur lined.

I'd say nothing wrong with Ugg boots just not those chavvy slipper looking ones!!

SmellsLikeFeet · 28/09/2020 08:39

I have a pair of sheepskin boots but not uggs, they are so comfortable. Does it really matter what strangers think?

ItsAlwaysSunnyOnMN · 28/09/2020 08:51

They never looked good on anyone over 18 regardless of the year on little children they look cute

They are slippers

XiCi · 28/09/2020 08:55

Boots are boots. Slippers are slippers. They look very different. Unless you live in the Arctic circle.

Pixiemeat · 28/09/2020 08:59

Diabetes and circulation problems here. I wear them every winter. Indoors and outdoors (if it’s dry). I’ve got the mini baileys at the mo and I love them.

BilboBercow · 28/09/2020 09:01

I always have uggs for winter, I love them. They're ugly but they're so comfortable and warm i really don't care.

Rubyupbeat · 28/09/2020 09:03

YABU
Uggs are vile, in the same bubble as crocs!
Mind you I think birkenstocks are ugly , but I wear them all the time, as they are so comfortable for me.
Wear what you want, in.other words!

SillyLittleBiscuit · 28/09/2020 09:05

Ive got similar to these for really cold days.

Ugg boots yay or nay?
Meruem · 28/09/2020 09:21

I have firmly dumped fashion in favour of comfort and I couldn’t be happier. I am looking forward to winter days wearing my ugg ankle boots, M&S stretchy jeggings and a cosy jumper! I couldn’t give a shiny shit what anyone else thinks. I sprayed mine with a water repellant spray so they’re fine in the rain too. I tend to buy a new pair in summer when they’re massively on sale. Just got this winters new pair for £70.

StatisticallyChallenged · 28/09/2020 09:24

I have to admit to wondering where you all live that you "never see anyone wearing them now" as I still saw them all the time last winter.

I don't have any classic uggs, but i have several pairs of their leather ones - they make a lot more than the classic slouchy. I also have a burgundy pair with huge fluffy pom poms which are ridiculous but awesome.

PeriPeriMenosauce · 28/09/2020 09:26

Outdoors = hell to the NO!

Indoors = absolutely, your feet will love you, but don't stop at the ankle, go mid-calf.

combatbarbie · 28/09/2020 09:42

I've got their leather biker boots and love them. I also have a pair of knitted ones which I still use occasionally as they are comfy and warm in winter. 13yr old has requested a new pair for Xmas, 3rd year going.

NamechangeTTC · 28/09/2020 10:25

@dudsville I have the ankle boot suede ones too with the wood heel. No sheepskin and don’t look like the traditional Uggs!!

SmilingAloe · 28/09/2020 11:41

I have three pairs of traditional looking Ugg’s and a pair of the biker style. I know they are not trendy but I find them a joy to wear, they are so comfy and cosy, so I don’t care what people think.

PrimalLass · 28/09/2020 11:45

They're slippers. You don't wear them out the house.

Except for the last 15 years or so they've been boots that you wear outside the house.

unicornpower · 28/09/2020 12:02

I love my UGGS haha they are so warm and cosy! they may be ugly but i genuinely don't care haha

Janaih · 28/09/2020 12:07

I think I read in the sunday times mag the other week that the low boots are very much in.
They look comfy and warm. Get some if you like.

I've been reading for years that skinny Jean's arent in but they stilk seem pretty popular to me!
