It’s Friday and I’ve woke up from a piss poor sleep courtesy of dog sitting barky chihuahua! I have a 12 hour shift in store for me today but I’m in a bloody good mood! So indulge me. What 5 things are you looking forward to today? I am looking forward to.

  1. My bacon and sausage sandwich for breakfast!
  2. My 5k run to work!
  3. There’s a new episode of my favourite podcast out.
  4. Being able to have the time to catch up on my tv programmes tonight as I’ve not had chance to even switch it on this week!
  5. Have a very very large GIN!

  1. Seeing my mum - our plans earlier in the week had to be cancelled while I waited for our Covid test
  2. Dressing my daughter in some of her lovely new winter clothes!
  3. Doing the scarecrow trail in our village
  4. Swimming with the small one
  5. New episode of long way up tonight!
Legallyblondeee · 25/09/2020 08:27

@Skigal86 My friend did a scarecrow trail in her village with her DD the other day it looked so cool! I was green with envy that we don’t have anything like that round here! I hope you enjoy it and the weather is kind to you.

  1. lingering over morning coffee
  2. going for a run later on
  3. walking the dog (and playing with her)
  4. chatting with DC after school about their day

Finding it difficult to come up with a 5th - this thread is great, I've got out of the habit of seeing all the positive things. And my life is fine, if a little repetitive in termtime

dementedma · 25/09/2020 08:32

Got paid today so

  1. Spending some money

Thats about it tbh.

namechangeinamillion · 25/09/2020 08:32

I'm on annual leave today, heavily pregnant and ds is at nursery so I'm looking forward to

  1. A peaceful breakfast in my pjs (dh did nursery run) - already had this.
  2. Going for a nice swim
  3. Watching a bit of tv
  4. Collecting ds early from nursery and hearing all about his day
  5. Driving to our caravan for the weekend
tigerbear · 25/09/2020 08:34

Staying in bed a bit longer, playing on MN! 😀
Doing a workout
Meeting a friend for dinner at a nice restaurant
Going shopping to buy friend a birthday gift

Quackersandcheese3 · 25/09/2020 08:36

Having a slow start to the day.
Spending time with my kids
Washing my bedding
Having some wine tonight
Chilling with dh when he comes home from work.

HUCKMUCK · 25/09/2020 08:36

When I opened the thread I didn’t think I had any but you have motivated me to be more positive and have a bacon sarnie!
1 bacon sandwich
2 team call at 12 - Friday ones are always funny and light and lots of banter
3 not having to go out and pick DH up from work as I don’t need the car today so he’s taken it
4 DS and I planning to watch a film together tonight
5 well, it’s Friday, that’s good enough for my 5th! I love finishing work on a Friday knowing the weekend is ahead.

Thanks @Legallyblondeee, what a nice way to start the day. Have a good one!

EnglishRain · 25/09/2020 08:37

  1. snuggling under my duvet. I've snuck 10 week old DD into her snuz pod (we usually co sleep)
  2. having a slice of homemade carrot cake and a cup of tea
  3. looking whistfully out into the back garden over the stable door as it rains
  4. choosing a candle from the drawer to light
  5. possibly a nice bath when DH is home tonight and can be the parent on call

Writing that has been really helpful Smile

Legallyblondeee · 25/09/2020 08:37

@dementedma
I got paid on Wednesday and DH quite kindly “lost my bank card” so I donned my FBI hat and tracked it down to our local onestop shop. Crisis averted!

Movie night with ds while his grumpy teen siblings are elsewhere
Reading more of my book in bed later
Breakfast in my favourite cafe - I have to be in the office at the moment so I’m going to push the boat out and give them some support as they are on their knees at the moment

Shoxfordian · 25/09/2020 08:38

Ahwelltoobad · 25/09/2020 08:49

I'll have to think about it, but just wanted to say it's great thread! Flowers

Warmhandscoldheart · 25/09/2020 08:51

After being batted with rain and wind whilst walking the dog today's positives are
Changing into my PJs
Cuppa or 3 and toast covered in peanut butter
Binge watching The Last Kingdom
Loving the fact my dog won't want a second walk
My Dad had a very happy 89th birthday yesterday

Sgtmajormummy · 25/09/2020 08:52

Looking on the bright side. Life goes on in spite of CV.

1 Travelling in an off-peak and hopefully socially distanced train. Four seats to myself and a fully charged iPad.
2 Getting my car back after a week. I’ve had to be ingenious and have certainly used up calories.
3 Throwing loads of stuff away. We’ve moved house with just a suitcase each, having locked and left the previous one. Now the umbilical cord is severed I can deep clean the place.
4 Spending a night on my own (love my family but it’s been stressful).
5 Carefully choosing a boot-load of USEFUL stuff to take back. I have a list. Grin

timeforawine · 25/09/2020 08:53

Pizza for lunch
Watching Mummy Diaries in peace with a coffee
Going to the village pub this evening after wrap around care pick up
Aldi cheeky monkey ice cream after dinner

GinnieHempstock · 25/09/2020 08:55

Finishing work early after a 12 day stint.
Sorting through my wardrobe and binning the clothes that are too big and getting the smaller clothes out of the box they have been stored in for years.
Doing a HiiT workout.
Continue to crochet the blanket I am doing whilst listening to an audiobook.
Going to bed knowing I don't have to set the alarm for tomorrow.

Great thread, I didn't think I would be able to think of 5, but it's motivated me.

adogisforlife91 · 25/09/2020 08:55
  1. Getting the keys to our new house after a 16 week process!
2-5. all the associated fun stuff with moving into a new house :D
Legallyblondeee · 25/09/2020 08:56

Loving all these! It’s easy to get down with day to day life at the moment so I’m taking little wins in life to keep me upbeat.

anditgoeson · 25/09/2020 08:58

It's my day off today so my five things are;

  1. Not logging on to my computer
  2. Having lots of coffee
  3. Doing yoga and a nice full meditation
  4. Studying again
  5. Making some art

It's all getting done in school hours so maybe a bit rushed but still bliss 😍

DuesToTheDirt · 25/09/2020 08:59

Only a half day of work today

See our horse with DD1

Get a debriefing from DD2 about her job (she is an archaeologist and her job is fascinating)

Veg out with DH this evening with telly, crisps and wine (how rock n roll we are!)

Can't think of a fifth, but those are pretty good.

Ragwort · 25/09/2020 09:02
  1. Walking with a friend
  2. Visiting my elderly parents
  3. Buying a pizza for dinner tonight.
  4. Going back to work tomorrow Grin, my 'weekend' is Thurs/Fri but in the current situation there is so little to do that I actually prefer to be at work in a job I love and that keeps me busy and motivated Grin Grin
  5. ....
Dee1975 · 25/09/2020 09:04

Having a face time with my bff who love is Australia shortly
Meeting a friend for coffee who I’ve not seen in years
