It’s Friday and I’ve woke up from a piss poor sleep courtesy of dog sitting barky chihuahua! I have a 12 hour shift in store for me today but I’m in a bloody good mood! So indulge me. What 5 things are you looking forward to today? I am looking forward to.

  1. My bacon and sausage sandwich for breakfast!
  2. My 5k run to work!
  3. There’s a new episode of my favourite podcast out.
  4. Being able to have the time to catch up on my tv programmes tonight as I’ve not had chance to even switch it on this week!
  5. Have a very very large GIN!

  1. Finally put the clean laundry away! I always feel more accomplished when I do.
  2. Listen to my new Audible book.
  3. Tidy my bedroom and make it cosy. Got some lights to sorting out and art work to hang.
  4. Working from home with no kids in the house. Never knew how great it was until it didn't happen during lockdown.
  5. A nice bubble bath... and an early night. Ok, maybe that's 6? I can think of more too but will stop there.
Whatnext2018 · 25/09/2020 10:36

theruffles · 25/09/2020 10:40
  1. Putting the washing outside to dry in the breeze and sunshine.
  2. The thought of a whole week off once work is finished today.
  3. Cuddles with DD once she comes home from her nan's.
  4. Tidying some parts of the house while DD and DH are out - always feels so much calmer when I sort things out uninterrupted!
  5. Lunch and a lovely cold Coke in the fridge to go with it.

I was struggling as feeling a bit down at the moment, but thank you to the two people who mentioned the new Strike book, I had no idea it had been released so have immediately downloaded that on my kindle and that can go to top of the list! And thank you OP for starting this thread which is lovely. Enjoying reading what everyone is looking forward to, it's uplifting that they're all quite simple things and seems we're all enjoying quite similar pleasures.

  1. once finish work, settling down with a drink and reading the new Strike book
  2. taking it at a slightly slower pace today at work after a manic and difficult couple of weeks
  3. lazy weekend ahead just me and DP, maybe go for a nice walk and drink in our local
  4. reading new Strike book in bed tomorrow morning with weekend lie in and endless cups of coffee
  5. DP's turn to cook dinner tonight....
Soundbyte · 25/09/2020 10:45

Oooh, I'm living the dream right now.

  1. Dropping BOTH kids off at school for a full day. DS2 has had a ridiculous 3 week settling in period, and today is his first full day, ergo MY first full day on my own!

  2. A lovely run in the sun.

3 & 4) A post run cup of tea with an episode of Greys Anatomy.

  1. Lunch out with the husband! We are in a local lockdown area, so despite all my new found freedom, he's the only one I'm allowed to have lunch out with.

Having a nice weekend with my lovely bf.
Chilling with my current book, about the life of Vivienne Westwood, a hero of mine.
A pancake in the fridge I have for later.
A boots delivery with some perfume I have treated myself to (Tom Ford, Intense Orchid - love it).
Walking into town later, wearing proper clothes.

Legallyblondeee · 25/09/2020 12:48

@Purplecatshopaholic
Isn’t Vivienne Westwood just a goddess 😍 I love her and I have to admit I have splurged on a few of her handbags over the years and they still look brand new x

Purplecatshopaholic · 25/09/2020 12:56

@Legallyblondeee, I am a bit of a Vivienne-a-holic I admit - total legend. I would have everything she designs if I had the money, lol. Just got a dress of hers I ordered and it looks like I will have to wear it round the house, ah well. Actually maybe I will go do that in a minute - another thing to look forward to today Grin
