Cleaner wants to me to put a toilet brush in every bathroom

We have three toilets and just started with a new cleaner.

I've been asked by the agency to put a toilet brush in every toilet. I don't want to, I hate toilet brushes I don't want three of them.

I've looked at the disposable ones but they are expensive and don't look great for the environment.

Never had a cleaner make this request before, is it usual?

I wouldn't want to be your cleaner though. Clean your own toilets if you are really that weird about it and won't let her have the tools she needs.

Hmm I find it rather childish to be so squeamish about toilet brushes. All the Eww, it's minging, disgusting, it's icky comments. .."its poo on a stick" I mean really how over dramatic.

It sounds like you want to clean your own toilets Op and are keeping them to a good standard so let your cleaner know she doesn't have to include your toilets from now on. I'm sure she won't be too upset

This thread is hilarious. All you toilet brush fans why can't you accept that bleach dissolves skidders? I am a not proud owner of an avocado loo (rented) and I can assure you that there is not 3 years worth of shite in white in my lav. I've never had a bog brush, but I don't care if anyone else does.

Bleach might "dissolve" skidders, but its also vile smelling, and terrible for the environment.

As a former bleach owner, it didnt ALWAYS remove the remnants of an explosive bottom episode (because getting the shits when your stressed is SUPER fun)

pain tbh I don't use it very often. Only when necessary. I use ecover or method to clean seat and outside of the loo and do that daily. I know 3/4 of mumsnetters might faint that I don't scrub the bowl daily but its not for filling the kettle from!

This is really weird. Can't your guests shit straight? I get that the kids make a mess sometimes but do you really visit other peoples houses and pebbledash their toilets?! This is another thing ive never heard of

It’s not always that simple.

I have IBS and explosive bowels, I regularly pebbledash the toilet bowl. I do however always clean it straight afterwards so there are no skid marks left.

I love the smell of bleach.

And to whoever asked, I do live in a soft water area.

Flush it then bleach

You don't have brushes? Your loos must be grim and covered in skids. Even with bleach it needs a scrub to get rid of marks.

I hate toilet brushes and never own them. I put bleach or toilet cleaner down the toilet every night or immediately after any marks appear (which is rare and certainly not a daily occurrence) and my toilet is spotless

Apart from environmental reasons, and the fact it smells vile, the other reason that I don't use bleach anymore, is because the smell of it just gives me the most godawful headache, thats even with the window wide open and the room well ventilated.

Why is everyone saying poo gets left on the brush. After I've used the silicone brush I flush the toilet and then leave a small amount of loo cleaner in with the brush soaking for a while. I'd put money on my loo brush being cleaner than the remote controls.
