The Daily Mail, has lost the plot, in decreeing that MadeForMums is in fact the UK's number one parenting site now, and not Mumsnet??

I’ve just had a look, seems to be one thread about Mumsnet in general ( and chocolate and loo brushes for some reason) and one saying she’s been banned from MN and doesn’t know why - it seems fair enough to go somewhere to find out when MN aren’t telling her. The other threads look about standard, a couple of nice ones for people going through a hard time stand out

Eatsleepchatrepeat · 21/09/2020 18:32

Whereas on MN you only fit right in if you have a kitchen island, on a six figure salary and a massive personality disorder.

Bluntness100 · 21/09/2020 18:33

Never heard of it, I’d have assumed that was a paid for ad, but I think they are supposed to say,

Hmm I didn't even say it
Hokeywokey · 21/09/2020 18:34

There's a thread on there atm where you are all bragging about trolling on this thread. If you don't want your trolling known, maybe don't tell everyone what you are up too?

ChelseaDaggers · 21/09/2020 18:35

Or hint at it? Oh hang on was it because I said why can we name Reddit when they have a M . N . T.r.0.l.l.s page?

ChelseaDaggers · 21/09/2020 18:37

Ha! Oh it was that then, I guess.

So we can name Reddit, but not that particular page, because it is all people talking about MN. Well, it's right there on Reddit! This is so weird.

The stuff I have read last night and today that MN did fuck all about and was truly offensive, but we can't mention the name of another forum Confused

Neacy · 21/09/2020 18:42

I love here, there and every where, I very rarely post on here, there is room on the internet for every mum forum, if you don’t like it don’t use it, there really is no need to erase any comments unless they are really not nice.

I like the “other” site, they seem a friendly bunch.

Keep safe, stay happy and smile.

I really hope this comment doesn’t get deleted, there is no malice from me, just an opened mind.

Galacticat · 21/09/2020 18:45

Having had a look, one thread about MN on there that deviates and meanders around is not a whole forum slagging off MN. Paranoid much.
I rarely post on MN these days. Its becoming a very nasty place. The new place looks friendly, like MN used to be when I first joined.

Which is fair enough. I post on other sites, it's the trolling and spamming of this site which is tedious.
QueenofAsgard · 21/09/2020 18:47

@lifestooshort123

Might depend on how consistent the moderating is on their site. MN has been a minefield lately with certain posters being allowed free rein to rant/rave/goad while others are banned for next to nothing. *@PainyRuddles* - do you think these were the only 2 sites in the running for top dog? Surely not....
This is bang on. Something going on up there in MNTowers. There's one or two mods - fairly recent ones I think - who seems to be taking spiteful delight in their power and it hasn't gone unnoticed. I think they're trying to change direction without us noticing but they're being very clunky about it.
ChelseaDaggers · 21/09/2020 18:51

I'm starting to agree that MN is a nasty place now. The disgusting posts and, in fact, an entire thread which were allowed to stay up last night and today, while posts even mentioning another forum are zapped immediately. Weird.

QueenofAsgard · 21/09/2020 18:52

@Roussette

HokeyWokey Yep. It thrives on MN threads, posts, posters, mods and generally whinging about this forum
Well there's a couple of posts from what I can see but not multiple, there's plenty of non MN related posts and yes it seems you can ignore annoying posters.

In the absence of a like button I've quoted you instead. 🌟
ChelseaDaggers · 21/09/2020 18:54

What new direction do you think they're taking please @QueenofAsgard? Because I couldn't believe the stuff they allowed to stay up last night and the responses to reports were just frosty and robotic

Alabamawhirly1 · 21/09/2020 18:54

Who's this other place run by fucking Voldemort. Why must it not be named.

MintToBee · 21/09/2020 18:55

I've made some great real life friends on here but just lately, I too have barely posted.
The Covid threads and the spiteful comments have made me realise that its definitely changed. And some of the moderation has been awful.

ChelseaDaggers · 21/09/2020 18:56

You can ignore annoying posters queen??! Omg...so tempted to sign up then. This place actually feels unsafe to me now and it does feel as if something's up.

TedsFederationRep · 21/09/2020 18:58

while posts even mentioning another forum are zapped immediately. Weird.

I agree. No one forum has, or should have a monopoly. There is plenty of room on the Internet for all surely and in fact, the more places there are to choose from, the better.

Whether posters are mums or not, there's nothing wrong with finding congenial places to chat.

Hernameisdeborah · 21/09/2020 19:11

Maybe because the other sites are not so desperate for users that they spam and troll Mumsnet everyday?

Yeah, I've seen that 'other place'. I registered then de-registered after a week.

Why on earth is that other forum still so obsessed with spamming and endlessly discussing Mumsnet? I imagine the reason mentions of the other place get zapped is to do with the spamming? There are loads of sites such as Reddit and Netmums that are way better than that other place and they don't get zapped?

ChelseaDaggers · 21/09/2020 19:24

Reddit does get zapped, if you mention the board which discusses Mumsnet - happened to me up thread!

ChelseaDaggers · 21/09/2020 19:24

I'll do it again just to check...

Nonamesavail · 21/09/2020 19:25

Never heard of it

Ok, I didn't do it, but you know which one I mean!
