The Daily Mail, has lost the plot, in decreeing that MadeForMums is in fact the UK's number one parenting site now, and not Mumsnet??

I have messaged them asking exactly this question.

I gather that when Mumsnet brought in premium, a lot of people went to the site that cannot be named (well, not by me, because I don't know it) Grin
That has led to any mention of it being deleted from this site.

I think there must be more to it. MN is too big to be worried about another forum, as everyone says - look at Netmums!

Is it possible that someone from Mumsnet started this new forum?

That is the only thing I can think of.

I'll do a search myself and see if I can find it as you've all got me wondering what this new forum is.

I know what you mean about watching the pennies. I've been having to tighten our belts too. Luxuries have had to take a back seat.

I was just surprised this morning to find that clearly mumsnet has fallen so far out of favour with the Daily Mail, that it is no longer considered the top parenting site.

I mean, they HAVE been skimming threads off Mumsnet for years.

I'm not on it...but now I'm quite tempted tbh...

And anyway, why would that be a bad thing? While on MN I also used to use Twitter, FB, Insta, Netmums, Babycentre... Not sure what the "gotcha" is here tbh 🤷‍♀️.

Oooh like it can recognise the link? I wonder if they have it set for all variations for words like "mums" and "dot" etc when they are combined in case people type it out too.

Just having a nosy, but on first impressions it looks like my kinda place.

I don't really understand why all mention of "The Other Place" are banned. I have accounts with lots of places. I use Reddit for news, advice, and for speaking to people "like me" - the subreddit function is brilliant, I only get stories that interest me. I use this place to read the crazy whackadoodle shit people post, I don't really care that half of it is made up, the replies are usually either funny or informative. The place I'm not allowed to name feels like the internet when it was friendlier and smaller. It's like chatting to real pals. I feel that I can post openly there without fear of someone with 12 Oxbridge degrees and an 8 figure salary calling me an insult I have to Google.

What I don't have an account for, going back to the original post, is MadeForMums. I'm not exactly an expert but I'm going to say their "number one parenting site" comes with a massive disclaimer.
