This is a tricky one. I loathe Boris Johnson - but this is about any PM. Not just him.

Yes, they get the flat at Downing Street. It's rent free. He doesn't have commuting costs.

But this is the top job in the country. Massive responsibility. Lots of hours of work.

I think it's way too low for the responsibility and the abuse PMs get. I certainly wouldn't take that level of responsibility for that salary but many of them do seem to go on to more lucrative things afterwards.

I think the salary is too low. The head od a school I worked at was on £175000+. ( private school so highest salaries available from Charity Commission reports). This was a day school, not boarding. House provided rent free. I think running the country should command a higher salary.

See I think if politicians were paid about £30k, max £45k with experience and performance targets based by their voters then only those truly passionate and not in it for the money and glory would apply 🤔 Just like teachers, nurses.......etc!

We'd get even more rubbish than we do now. The skills we need in politicians are not the same as nurses abs are not comparable salary wise. You peanuts you get...

I think they need a performance based salary that’s paid by days worked, kpi’s met and duties performed for the public good.
Not by how many slight of hand tricks are performed or how much paid out to their mates with little in return.
