I’m sitting on the beach in Antigua. It’s 32 degrees and I am just deciding where to go for lunch.

steppemum · 19/09/2020 16:54

I've just repainted my garden table, which has been waiting to be done all summer. (black metal underneath, mosaic top)

the metal was all rusty, and I had to do it or it wouldn't have survived the winter.
It looks fab. I will just sit here looking at it for a bit, really satisfying, didn't take long in the end, and I will enjoy it through the window as much as when we use it.

@stayathomer love kidsplaining Grin

stayathomer · 19/09/2020 17:20

JesusInTheCabbageVan I loved how thoughtful he was actually saying itGrin

We are having DH's delayed birthday celebration today. Then I will have a Zoom get-together with six old friends from university days. That should be a hoot.

Thanks for this thread. I am enjoying reading everyone's good news. (And doing my best to avoid all the terrible things happening in the world. The death of Ruth Bader Ginsburg is just the latest blow. I'm in the US. Everything is going from very, very, very bad to much, much, much worse. But enough of that!)

orangejuicer · 19/09/2020 17:29

Forgot to say it's rioja and m&s pizza for tea!

Lazysundayafternoons · 19/09/2020 17:37

Dp has gone to get kebabs for dinner, I have just put on a rom-com and ds7 has not watched TV at all today as he was so busy with the toys from his birthday Smile

orangejuicer · 19/09/2020 17:48

What rom com lazy?

bloodywhitecat · 19/09/2020 17:56

My 5 month old fosterling is starting to roll, he can't sit yet (or even attempt to), he collapses when you try to get him to weight bear, he has poor head control but he can roll to the left and is now starting to go to the right too.

My 10 month old fosterling is starting to walk and is the happiest little soul I have ever met.

Both babies had a tough start in life so it has been wonderful to watch them strive to do what they want to do, to watch them reach each goal and milestone.

The sun is shining.
After working bloody hard through lockdown, as the rest of the team were furloughed, we were all made redundant 8 weeks ago. I had a job offer this week which I have accepted!
My teenager persuaded me to buy Disney+ and we are going to watch Hamilton tonight.

CactusForever · 19/09/2020 20:10

We re-started long overdue DIY today. There's a quite a way to go but hey, first step and all that.

MinnieJackson · 19/09/2020 20:54

I have three new books to read BrewCake

jellytot24 · 19/09/2020 20:57

My DH and I saw our best friends today, the first time since we moved 200 miles away in January. It was weird and socially distanced but it was like no time had passed at all.

Ninkanink · 19/09/2020 21:22

My little bit of good news is that today we went to our local farm shop and I found this perfect dinky little jar of orange zest honey which made me very happy!

I'm done
madmumofteens · 19/09/2020 21:24

Just watched peanut butter falcon on Netflix eating dominoes pizza with DS who elected to stay home this semester as all online! Such uncertain times but all is well for now and today was a good day 🥰

Dowser · 19/09/2020 21:45

Had a fabulous day today in thirsk bird of prey centre.
Not expensive.
Well recommended over 70 birds and they fly about 30 every day.
If you’re local do support it, they only Reopened end of July and close end of October so really need that extra income

ssd · 19/09/2020 21:59

Thanks so much for all the good news stories here, it really is nice to hear Flowers

I planted some Spring flowering bulbs today - I feel the need to demonstrate faith in the future. All being well, they will be beautiful next March-June. Afterwards I sat in the sun and finished the book I've had on the go for ages. A lovely peaceful day 😊

tsmainsqueeze · 19/09/2020 23:05

My good news is that we have a frog living under some plants just outside our patio doors , he is beautiful and brightens my day .

CasuallyMasculine · 19/09/2020 23:13

We are ten days away from completing on our dream house in Leeds. I’ve wanted to move back there for 30 years!

lovegem89 · 20/09/2020 17:22

My sister who has been trying to conceive for 7 years is now 6 weeks pregnant! This for me has made a shitty year now feel amazing!

Exasperatedokay · 20/09/2020 17:33

I separated from my husband last year. After all the grief, sadness, anger etc me and our 2 girls moved into a lovely house last month where we feel super calm and content. Our new sofas arrived this week and I have spent most of the weekend testing them out 😊

Whycantibeapuppy · 20/09/2020 17:41

It’s my pups 2nd birthday. We nearly lost her when she was young so every birthday seems so much more special!

Lordamighty · 20/09/2020 17:52

It’s a beautiful day here, had a long walk round the local woodland paths. Just had a chilled glass of white wine, chicken roasting in the oven & looking forward to a lovely roast dinner.
