OP, I used to get up and put the news on and stay watching it for far too long. This week I noticed that there are two consecutive episodes of Cheers on Channel 4 from 7:15 every single week day! So I watch those before getting on with my day and honestly, truly feel much better for it.

Blimeyoreilly2020 · 19/09/2020 10:50

My dd11 who has never been invited on a sleepover (and only 2 play dates) since moving to her new school 3 years ago has just been invited on one🎉

Thomasina79 · 19/09/2020 10:53

Another small thing. I have found a company that do smart, cotton with stretch work shirts which dry overnight and don’t need ironing (not that I do much ironing), but work ones have always needed an iron, so this frees up a bit of time. They are long enough too, so cover those bits which need covering!

Lovely day too and fish and chips later which we always have on. Saturday

CornflakeMum · 19/09/2020 10:53

I went for a run this morning and I swear the same Robin followed me all the way around and kept hopping down in front of me!

I'm meeting one of my oldest (as in most longstanding) friends for lunch.

@TheGrayChapter

Should add I’m confident enough that we can social distance, the beach I’ve chosen is very quiet, (a friend lives nearly by and said it’s been very slow) and will set ourselves away from anyone! Will take our camping toilet so we don’t have to use any facilities and set it up inside the beach shelter. Will also take our own picnic
That sounds lovely, enjoy! I so miss the beach and sea.

Petitmum · 19/09/2020 11:01

My autistic son who has severe learning difficulties had a birthday yesterday and was able to read out the messages on his birthday cards. First time ever my parents have heard him read.

A tiny thing to most but huge for him.

Legallyblondeee · 19/09/2020 11:01

The sun is shining here. I’ve done my hair and makeup and feeling really good about myself today! Me and DH are about to take our fluffy companion for a walk. Then home for something to eat, and back out again to wonder round town and possibly may have a glass of wine at our favourite bar. Hope everyone has a spectacular day today!

WarmSausageTea · 19/09/2020 11:03

I’m going to hunt Pokémon in a bit.

Me too, Toasty Crumpet. And I’m looking forward to the Community Day tomorrow.

hellswelshy · 19/09/2020 11:03

Yep, I hear you. Am closing down my news tab on my phone for the weekend! Good things - its sunny and breezy here, I have some lovely orange roses and both my cats are snoozing on the sofa Smile

Jigglypuffler · 19/09/2020 11:06

I've been searching high and low for a second hand chair for the nursery for impending baby, every time I find one it's already sold, and today I found the loveliest chair and my DH is on his way to collect it now! Soooooo happy!

CornflakeMum · 19/09/2020 11:06

Lots of my tomatoes have ripened in this late summer sun, and I have a ball of mozzarella in the fridge and basil on the windowsill - enough for a lovely big salad this weekend Smile

IamHyouweegobshite · 19/09/2020 11:08

Morning op, I'm sitting looking at the sun in my garden, it looks lovely. I'm feeling sorry for myself, hurt my back yesterday, fell off monkey bars! 😳 Will gingerly go for a walk in a bit and hope it feels better.

IncludeWomenInTheSequel · 19/09/2020 11:10

My DD has had a really though couple of weeks but she is SMILING and I am so fucking proud of who she is that I'm choking up even typing this.

And in other news we managed sneaky morning sex while the kids were upstairs Wink

ilovesooty · 19/09/2020 11:12

The football season is getting properly underway.

Emeeno1 · 19/09/2020 11:13

We bought a second hand guitar yesterday (none of us can play yet!) but the little ones have been strumming it to our dog. He looks singularly unimpressed.

Coffeecak3 · 19/09/2020 11:15

I managed to save a butterfly.
It was caught in a web. I carefully removed some of web and placed butterfly on grass.
After 15 minutes and some tentative wing opening it flew away.

sugarlost · 19/09/2020 11:16

I have food shopping...it's the little things.

Hope you're feeling brighter OP.

Nousernameforme · 19/09/2020 11:20

This week I smashed 3 big obstacles i have with my anxiety so am super pleased with myself. Tomorrow we are also off to the beach and are going to take a picnic. There's only 3 of us and we aren't in a lockdown area. Today is a pottering day still in pj's just had breakfast no where to go nothing to do.

FitzsFool · 19/09/2020 11:27

10 minutes ago I suddenly remembered that there was left over curry in the fridge from last nights takeaway.
5 minutes ago I sat down and devoured it cold.
It was delicious.

Pinkshrimp · 19/09/2020 11:35

I’ve had a productive morning, building the hedgehog house in the garden that I’ve been planning for the last couple of weeks, since I saw a visiting hedgehog in my garden.

keeprocking · 19/09/2020 11:41

It's too hot to work in the garden! I'm almost on first name terms with the guys at the tip, I've taken so much up there recently.

PolarBearStrength · 19/09/2020 11:44

I managed to talk a toddler and a dog (not even my dog!) out for a walk without any major mishaps. I have also realised that said toddler (who is gong through a horrible defiant, stroppy, screamy phase) can be tricked into doing most things if I put an alarm on my phone and tell him it’s the ‘putting your shoes on alarm’ for example.

NotQuiteUsual · 19/09/2020 11:51

After renting for over a decade, we're sitting in our own house, that we own outright, looking at paints and decor ideas. Knowing that we can do anything we like without any restrictions.

I know this year has been awful in so many ways. But for us it's been the beginning of so many amazing things for us as a family. Renting was destroying my mental health. Everyday in the back of mind I was constantly panicking about the kids accidentally damaging something. Or our landlord needing the property back etc. For the first time in over a decade I am stress free. It feels like my life finally started this year.

The kids need more school socks and I'm not wondering how we'll afford it! Can you imagine?!?! We can just buy them!! I can barely get my head around it.
