I had a bone marrow transplant 2 years ago and yesterday I spent 2 hours facetiming my donor and his family 😍🙌🏽

This made me smile 😊

I'm having toast for the first time in a year (low carb diet) it's bloody fantastic! I got the kids to school without forgetting anything or being late and for the first time in years I'm going out with a friend for some fun - FUN!!!! plus it's that perfect time of year when it's warm but not too hot, the sky seems extra blue, the leaves are starting to turn, the air is crisp and life feels like it's slowing down in readiness for winter. There's a heap of crap I'm ignoring and focusing on all of the above! :)

My boyfriend is on a ‘spiritual retreat’ going through rehab for work addiction and had to record an Emmy acceptance speech just in case he won (he didn’t), so the entire family had a Zoom session to watch the video he would have made if he’d won.

It was cute and very emotional.

I'm chuffed that I've lost enough weight to comfortably get into a pair of trousers I couldn't even remotely do up a couple of years ago. I've a lot to lose, so this has cheered me up immensely.

How about something daft? Lunchtime today just sat down with a sandwich and cup of tea, all very quiet, no one around and tv turned down quite low. Out of nowhere I hear 'SCREW YOU' - coming from the direction of my empty kitchen!Jumped out of my skin then dawned on me...it was a Little Britain Fat Fighters mug I'd bought for a laugh for DH years ago - when you pick it up you get various insults from Marjory Dawes.....some vibration must have set it off in the cupboard

I started a new job last week and I'm loving it

I’m drinking a glass of rose on a Monday evening!

I met some work colleagues for lunch, we haven't seen each other since March - we had pizzas and frosty beers - was nice.

I'm just about to pack up my work stuff and take the dog for a walk, beautiful late summer evening here

@scubadive it was Dan Snows History Hits. I listened to the one about the white ship sinking 900 years ago. Today I’m planning to try the history of the restaurant. He has so many interesting topics. If you like history there’s also one called 1619 which is the history of black people in America from the arrival of the first slaves

My other favourites if you are interested are Just the Jist (start with episode 35 so funny) and You’ve heard wrong.

Anymore happy things anyone. I’m loving this thread of nice small things people are enjoying. I’m hoping the one positive that might come out if all this horribleness is that our lives will slow down and people will cherish more these little things. Life can get so crazy.
