Currently awaiting test results from the inevitable back to school cough, so been having a lazy few days knitting and watching TV. At this rate I might finish knitting my (first ever) jumper just in time for the colder weather to start!

I'm off to IKEA. I LOVE IKEA, I could never go there before my divorce because my ex husband loathed it and whined all the way round rushing me in and out.
Now I can go and look at everything in my own time and buy candles.
Also it's only an hour from my house, the last one was a good three hours.

I have unexpectedly just discovered another one whilst parking a car in the yard at work.
Its a 20 plate and when reverse gear is selected the stereo automatically turned down!!! Handsdown an upgrade on wipers that detect rain and just lovely to know the world concentrates better when life is quieter!

I've got the house to myself as DH is out cycling with a friend and DS asked to spend the day at MIL's as well rather than just the night as planned.

DH and I are having lunch with friends. Then we're having evening drinks with other friends.

The week started with DS (6) being bullied and has ended with him making friends with one of his bullies (who was only copying, not the instigator). He's going to play with him tomorrow.

I hope your results come soon @psychomath. We were in your position last Saturday.

I started a new job last September and made some really really lovely friends there, so I've been feeling quite positive, even though I'm in one of the areas where you can't meet up with anyone. I find it difficult to make proper friends (as opposed to friendly acquaintances) so I feel extremely lucky to have got to know them this year when I most needed good people.

All these stories of people's DC being kind to other children are so heartwarming

@WarmSausageTea I've sent you a friend request! I'm MaxLotus12. I too am a gifting demon but I've found most of my current friends just sit on gifts without opening them, so some days I only get to send a couple.

Thanks Minnie! Luckily I don't have children (I work in the school) so hopefully it'll be a one-off for me. Really feel for families who'll have to isolate repeatedly if year groups close, it's rubbish.

My DH has turned out to be a remarkably good hairdresser, despite the lack of training and the huge kitchen scissors. Has just saved me a trip to the salon and a few quid. Feeling quite upbeat about that!

I’m about to make a big fat chocolate fudge cake and eat it until I feel sick!!!

I've just finished a big plate of French toast. With proper butter and maple syrup.

Probably about a zillion calories but I didn't really eat anything yesterday.

It was delicious.

Now sitting with a cup of coffee, waiting for my groceries to arrive. My noisy neighbour is out so there's no noise and it's bliss.

I've already met my step goal for the day

I've been promoted and after 4 weeks I feel settled and happy with my new job.
I've started crossfit as I'm a bit unfit and slightly overweight. Exercise 3 x a week is making me feel good.
My 11 year old, who is the kindest person I have ever met and would do anything for anyone started secondary school not knowing anyone. All the other children were from feeder primary schools. He has settled and has a "squad" already so I dont need to worry about him

My son gave me a kiss for the first time.

I finally decided to start my own handbag brand, and I made this beauty

Takeaway tonight and a movie (undecided)

Also, playing 9 to 5 by Dolly P in the car to the kids for the first time and they love it!

It's Saturday. I didn't have to set my 5am alarm, I just allowed my mind and body to wake up when it wanted to, 9.50am. I've just ended a two and a half year relationship that was making me sad.

Today I'm going to meander around the shops, buy some wine, candles, something nice for my tea and new pj's. Then I'm going to come home, have a bubble bath, read a book and later on I'll watch a movie with my two grown up Sons (who are both currently living with me).

Absolute bliss.

I offered to go and visit my parents as I thought they might be bored and lonely but they told me not to as they are meeting friends for lunch and didn't have time to see me. This is a good thing!

Don't blame you @ssd, the headlines today were bloody depressing, weren't they. Do you like dogs? This one is having some baked beans.

He's a local legend and spreads his time between at least 5 different houses. Someone else has converted their shed into a cat cabin for him. My cat tolerates him coming in for fuss but doesn't like it when he outstays his welcome.
