@Supersimkin2

Squirrels frolicking by the bins

I misread that! Grin

Mountainpika · 19/09/2020 09:45

Lovely thread. I'm not getting too involved with the news. Not going to waste emotional energy on things I can do nothing about. Good.
So - sunny September day. Good.
Stuff to do in the kitchen. Necessary but boring.
Enjoyable crochet project to work on. Commission from a friend. The money goes to a charity I support. Good.
Happy thread here. Good.

A bit of chat and mutual support goes a long way. Good.

My DS2 at 11 months pointed for the first time this week at an airplane and tried to say the word. His older brother is severely autistic and never pointed. I was so happy and relieved I shed a few tears.

Lazysundayafternoons · 19/09/2020 09:50

It's been a rough week here too. Had a massive deadline at work on Thursday and had to work really long days (14 hours) which included going to bed one night at 11 and starting at 5 again the next morning.

But good news, we met the deadline on Thursday, I had yesterday off which was ds 7th birthday. He couldnt have the present we planned due to Covid, and I didnt let him have a class party (although others did in recent weeks) so I was feeling a bit sorry for him... but he turned out to be so so happy with the things he did get and was so grateful, even thanking me for the effort I went to in getting Mario decorations for him. I spent about 3 hours yesterday making up playmobil while he was at school, he loved them. An amazing lady made him a Mario cake which he loved.
Even when he wasnt allowed to open his Lego presents until today (as the baby was awake), he was great about it.
So today we are making up the rest if his presents and he said it's like he has a birthday weekend 😁

Off work now until Monday and going to do as little as possible.

Chickenitalia · 19/09/2020 09:50

Some lovely stories, just what I needed this morning.
I have a day off and the sun is shining.
DH has managed to get the various things needed for a DIY project at home and is hopefully going to have that finished (it’s been a while).
The kids are so happy back at school and doing well.
Simple things.

I've just been offered an appointment to be assessed for autism - my GP only made the referral a few weeks ago and I thought the wait would be indefinite. But now I feel completely unprepared for it! (How prepared should you be?!)

Me and the dog are getting the bus to a country park for the day. They sell sausage ice cream there, so that's good news for the dog.

Waspie · 19/09/2020 09:52

These are wonderful Flowers

This morning I tried on my size 12 jeans and they fit! First time in three years after dieting for 6 months so far.

We're having Thai takeaway for dinner (will the jeans still fit tomorrow?)Grin

awesomeaircraft · 19/09/2020 09:53

Youngest DC and I watched Frozen again this morning. It was grand.

Fightthebear · 19/09/2020 09:54

Got my roots done yesterday.

DS has moved to a new school after being miserable at the last one. The boys have been really friendly to him and he is finally unclenching.

Pickles89 · 19/09/2020 09:56

My dog is a big fluffy black and white marshmallow.and I love her

I have the day off today and am going to do nothing but slob around in bed with my laptop

I'm (almost) down to a size 12 again after 6 months of being strict with myself. I haven't been a 12 for 4 or 5 years

I'm reading a good book

I have a new job possibility

My skin is so much better these days, no more gruesome acne

I live in the countryside and am loving breathing in the fresh air and listening to the birds

Thanks OP, it's nice to think about the positive things for a change!! Daffodil

@TheGrayChapter

Should add I’m confident enough that we can social distance, the beach I’ve chosen is very quiet, (a friend lives nearly by and said it’s been very slow) and will set ourselves away from anyone! Will take our camping toilet so we don’t have to use any facilities and set it up inside the beach shelter. Will also take our own picnic
You don't have to explian yourself TheGrayChapter. Just go and have a wonderful time. :)
Ellmau · 19/09/2020 09:58

I finish self isolating today!

Codexdivinchi · 19/09/2020 09:59

I had a Saturday lie in cuddling my dc in bed. We like Saturday mornings catch up.

I’m taking my paddle board out to catch the last of the good weather. This makes me so happy

barberousbarbara · 19/09/2020 10:02

We finally booked our wedding for next year. It's going to be very small (9 guests) but I'm looking forward to it.

The local stray cat has just jumped on the sofa next to me, begged for a fuss and then fallen asleep.

It was DP's birthday last weekend and I ordered a hamper from Betty's tea room. We're still working our way through it and enjoying a little treat each day.

felineflutter · 19/09/2020 10:02

My woodpecker came back to the feeder today. He has been missing for a few months.

Cooltalkin · 19/09/2020 10:02

Going to see brother and love sis in law for a late afternoon bbq Total 4
Sun is shining, beautiful autumnal day
Will wear new boots which I love !
Roseaca is clearing up ( got me down massively )
I have home made leek and cauliflower soup all ready for a light lunch

Not watching news

lurch3r · 19/09/2020 10:03

I am making pizza for me and the kids tonight. I have bought mayonnaise specifically to slather on it. I will watch a Jane Austen film or Taskmaster if the kids get their way. They are 16 and 18 so I know I am lucky that they are looking forward to a Saturday in with their mum. Tomorrow I am going to have a one to one riding lesson really early in the morning with a lovely kind instructor. I have stopped watching the news. Quick BBC headline catch up once a day only. I hope you do something fun today.

That is not a stray cat.

That's your new cat.

What will you name her/him?

AintPageantMaterial · 19/09/2020 10:07

Congrats to your daughter Grobagsforever. That’s a really big one.

I am going to see my family on Monday for the first time since January.

Jent13c · 19/09/2020 10:11

My DH is starting a new stable job on Monday after 6 months unemployment with no access to benefits and no redundancy payment. Cannot wait to be able to buy the kids some new clothes!

Peridot1 · 19/09/2020 10:12

Lovely thread. I’m feeling very flat as we took DS to uni on Thursday.

My good news is that he phoned yesterday and is doing ok. Not many in the accommodation yet but the guy he has met is really nice and they’ve been hanging out.

Might have some more good news later too. Waiting for a phone call from estate agent with an offer for our house from people who viewed this week. Fingers crossed very tightly!

Pet8 · 19/09/2020 10:12

Someone is coming to fix my washing machine today. I can't wait.

VoyageInTheDark · 19/09/2020 10:13

I'm self isolating and feeling really depressed so I appreciate this thread for some positivity. All I've got is that it's sunny here and Bake Off is back on Tuesday!

MagicSummer · 19/09/2020 10:13

OP - I felt like that yesterday after watching and reading the depressing news!

However, apart from that I had a lovely day yesterday - DH was out ALL day for the first time for months - I even ventured to the local shopping centre and bought a new pink jumper.

This morning a complete stranger complimented me on my hair!

ToastyCrumpet · 19/09/2020 10:18

I had some good news about the house I’m buying and I’m going to hunt Pokémon in a bit.
