Channel 4 has kindly put up every season of Angel so I'm going to start binge-watching it.

KarlKennedysDurianFruit · 19/09/2020 10:20

DH has his post-grad dissertation deadline this week, so my weekend will be spent watching DS and trying to stay out of the house, having wfh Thursday and watched him as we had no childcare, and had him all day Friday. I'm working twelve hours Monday.... I'll be glad when this is over!

CeibaTree · 19/09/2020 10:20

I can't even watch the news any more - I am a pretty calm person, but the news these days is enough to make anyone's blook pressure rise!

Today we are going to stay with some close friends who we haven't seen since February, so excited to see them :) This morning though we are going to check out the new Lidl that's opened near us, and go for a walk in the park. The leaves are starting to turn and the local area is looking so pretty right now.

TwentyViginti · 19/09/2020 10:21

My visiting Robin is hopping around the birdfood.

I've looked at my Winter wardrobe, and I don't need anything new.

SallySeven · 19/09/2020 10:22

Op I've stopped watching the news.

It's another nice day here. We are planting up pots in a mo with spring bulbs. I'm supposed to be getting the planting laters info from the internet right now!

My kids are all simultaneously happy with life and friends so that's a relief!

BoggledBudgie · 19/09/2020 10:22

@DrGachet write down any specific behaviours and ticks you have (ie any behaviours that calm you down/overwhelm you/situations you find uncomfortable. Your thinking style - black and white/over analysing etc). My DS’s medical team found it really helpful to have everything written down, and were able to tell us then and there of ways to help with specific behaviours. This was really beneficial for helping with his anxiety and stress levels even before he received his diagnosis. You may also receive more than an ASD diagnosis, conditions like ADD etc can often go hand in hand with ASD and need a separate diagnosis of their own (though I’m unsure if adult services do all the assessments in one place, DS had to be referred to a couple of different people to have everything assessed).

My good news is my financial situation has very recently changed, for the first time in 3 years we won’t be living hand to mouth. Relief isn’t anywhere near strong enough to cover it!

Rainbowqueeen · 19/09/2020 10:23

I’ve listened to a new podcast today recommended on here and loved it.

Supertree · 19/09/2020 10:25

I got a job! We’ve been struggling with redundancy for the past 6 months and living off savings. Finally got a job and I feel like I can breathe again. They are also really decent employers who have offered extra benefits and some flexibility.

RandomMess · 19/09/2020 10:26

I went out for a meal with work colleagues last night it was lovely to spend time with others and we didn't talk about work at all 😂 meal delicious too!

Indoorcamping · 19/09/2020 10:27

I have this afternoon to myself. I'm going for a walk to the beach, possibly via some charity shops. Then I'll decide between a fry up or fish & chips at a seafront cafe.

HoneyBee03 · 19/09/2020 10:27

I've loved reading through this thread :)

My good news is that I'm going to a pub for lunch with DH today while our toddler is looked after for a few hours.

Purplewithred · 19/09/2020 10:28

Thank you ladies, just what I needed after a depressing but not unexpected bit of family news this week.

I have a day off, the sun is shining, DH finally goes back to work this weekend after 10 very unexpected weeks off sick so life will take a tiny step back towards normal and I can watch girlie crap with dd this evening on telly.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 19/09/2020 10:30

On our last day of a UK holiday. We were supposed to be abroad and disappointed but hey, the weather has been fantastic and we’ve had a brilliant time in a beautiful part of the country. Glad we are here now, think restrictions will make it even more difficult to get away for a break Sad

everyonesmama · 19/09/2020 10:30

The sun is shining
Later I shall be buying dahlia plants
and most importantly

THIS TOO SHALL PASS

ThePluckOfTheCoward · 19/09/2020 10:33

The sun is shining, I've got all the windows and doors open, I'm sitting here with a big mug of frothy coffee in my dressing gown, reading Mumsnet. Did a big food shop yesterday and don't have to go anywhere today - heaven. Oh, and have ordered a heavy duty ground spike to finally sort my leaning rotary line which has been annoying me for months. It's definitely the little things here.

ThirstyGhost · 19/09/2020 10:35

I'm 7 years sober today. Getting married next year (v. quiet and small with us and the kids). The second good thing definitely wouldn't be happening without the first one. I'm also restricting my news intake and just checking briefly twice a day now, which I recommend if anyone is struggling.

Pickles89 · 19/09/2020 10:35

*That is not a stray cat.

That's your new cat.*

Indeed!! I mean, take kitty to be scanned for a microchip to be on the safe side, but then, congratulations on your new addition!

loulouljh · 19/09/2020 10:37

The problem is it is very hard to get away from the news..it wasn't all that long ago when it was just on the TV/radio twice a day only.

I have just had very nice scrambled eggs on toast. the sun is shining here and its a lovely late Summer day...

RhubarbTea · 19/09/2020 10:39

I've almost finished the toe of the second sock from a pair I've been working on for years Grin I'm really excited to finally finish them, especially as I have some lovely yarn from Woolly Mama Yarns to cast on another pair when I am done. The new pair will be my winter 'cheer myself up' project. The colours in the yarn makes me happy.

Plus I submitted the final essay of my OU module and am feeling relieved and happy Smile

LookMoreCloselier · 19/09/2020 10:42

We also managed to get ps5 pre ordered.
The sun is shining.
Danish pastries are in the oven.

Toilenstripes · 19/09/2020 10:42

The weather is lovely and dry so I’m going to bbq tonight!

BoggledBudgie · 19/09/2020 10:43

@ThirstyGhost 7 years is an absolutely enormous achievement, congratulations on both that and your wedding!! Flowers

Indoorcamping · 19/09/2020 10:44

Congratulations @ThirstyGhost huge achievement

MadameTuffington · 19/09/2020 10:44

@ssd

Thanks. I'm OK. Just done with the news.
Bollox to the News OP - for today, step away from it - I am a News and current affairs obsessive but NOT this weekend as it is currently ‘Covid Doom’ overload.

My happy News is sti reeling from my daughter getting A*AA in her A Levels after 3 years of hell with her, I also found out that my son has been acquitted of an explosives charge and will be released from prison in October after a year on remand and we have weekly testing now at work so much less chance of another outbreak. Also, watching our house rabbit Frank happy on the garden sun is amazing.

There is always a lot to be happy about - don’t let the media get you down 💪🏽 xx

Jenasaurus · 19/09/2020 10:45

The brown mark on my sofa is actually chocolate and not poo
