i got some Hugo Boss ones fro tkmaxx, so soft and fluffy

TastelessBracelets · 18/09/2020 20:58

Costco.

ElizabethinherGermanGarden · 18/09/2020 21:02

Absolutely YABU. The scratchy, crispy 70s towels get you so much drier, plus the pain reminds you you're alive.

AutumnSummersBuffysCousin · 18/09/2020 21:06

Yeh you need scratchy towels. How do you get those that’s what I wanna know!

user27378 · 18/09/2020 21:06

I'm with @ElizabethinherGermanGarden absolutely. My favourite towel is a really thin crispy one from the 70's. I tumble dry most things but never towels. I like to dry quickly with a little exfoliation for free... Fluffy towels don't dry you very well. I think TKMaxx is good for all things bedding and towels though if you don't agree.

Aerielview · 18/09/2020 21:09

Love hard scratchy bath towels, but love soft fluffy hand towels.

Batshitbeautycosmeticsltd · 18/09/2020 21:09

Sainsbury's ones are fab.

DappledThings · 18/09/2020 21:09

I thought I was the only one who liked them all crispy! I'm no great fan of summer but I am sad about it ending because I won't be able to get nice rough, line-dried towels for months now.

Tumble dryer makes them all soft and limp. Horrid.

AmandaHoldensLips · 18/09/2020 21:09

A crisp, crunchy, freshly laundered dry towel is a thing of great beauty. It's crispiness disappears moments after skin contact.

Soft fluffy towels are pointless and of no use to man nor beast.

AmandaHoldensLips · 18/09/2020 21:10

NEVER use fabric conditioner in a towel wash.

funnelfanjo · 18/09/2020 21:23

YABU.

Crunchy towels get you dry - a brisk rub after a long hot shower is lovely.

It is a point of disagreement in my house. DH likes soft towels and points out they’re sold soft and fluffy. He does his own laundry. Grin

SkyinthePie · 18/09/2020 21:38

Thin and slightly abrasive, that's how I like my towels.

vodkaredbullgirl · 18/09/2020 21:43

Soft towels do not dry you properly. My 2 dds dont like scratchy towels.

wigglerose · 18/09/2020 21:45

Soft towels don't dry you. They just smear the water around. YABU.

fishonabicycle · 18/09/2020 21:46

I like crispy line dried towels! Soft ones are rubbish!

dudsville · 18/09/2020 21:48

Loving the crispy towel love on here! I use conditioner, but I line dry. Mmmmmmm.

EggysMom · 18/09/2020 21:48

Crispy towels: no softener, then dry on the line / on a radiator / on an airer. They have to be harsh enough to take off another layer of dead skin after a bath.

DianaBrackley · 18/09/2020 21:49

I'm a thin scratchy towel lover too but I read that vinegar instead of detergent in the machine will make towels soft. You could try putting some in and see if it fluffs up the towels you've got?

ruthieness · 18/09/2020 21:57

"Zero twist" are the fluffiest
"Hygro" are a particular weave - also very soft
600 gsm - weight is best
I do not like 700 - too heavy and inflexible
550gsm are a little light

i am very fussy about the band detail - do not like deep bands of satin or similar

Malacath · 18/09/2020 21:57

I'm not sure which camp I should be in now! No softener, and I tumble dry my towels for an hour before finishing drying on the line which gives enough crunch to dry yourself properly but is still soft enough to have skin left on. I've always despised the scratchy line dried towels my parents had back in the 80s .

ruthieness · 18/09/2020 22:12

abysshabidecor.com/

top end towels but ridiculously expensive

Wilko have some good towels and good colours on sale atm

GoldfishParade · 18/09/2020 22:36

YABU to say "lovely towels"

40andginger · 18/09/2020 22:39

DH loves a crispy towel I always thought he's a bit weird
Turns out I must be Hmm

ToastyCrumpet · 18/09/2020 22:40

Doesn’t it depend on how hard your water is?
