I know iabu to ask here,but traffic and all that. Tell me, where do you get your softer than cloud towels from? DH and I are after some bath time luxury.

My husband and children like fluffy, soft towels and quite frankly I don't know what's wrong with them all.

They make me keep my scratchy ones in a drawer in case, god forbid, a guest saw them!

If I had a time machine one of the things I would do is go back and get all the thin, scratchy towels if the 70's and 80's that I could find.

@ChardonnaysPetDragon

I’m a big believer in Turkish hamam towels, preferably the linen ones.

Fluffy towels make my skin crawl.

Just about to post this very thing. I have just bought my first Turkish towel from Homesense, and after a not soo good first use (I didn't wash it first so got covered in fluff) the second and subsequent times have been wonderful. It's thin and huge so you can wrap yourself in them easily (I'm an 18 so not a small person) it has a slightly fluffy side but I love the smooth cotton side. I'm planning on getting more for all the family.

I never use fabric softener and every now and again I put white vinegar in when I wash them.

My favourite towel is thin and threadbare but big, and still has my name tape on it, sewn by my mum when I went off to university in 1963. It wasn’t new then so it has done very well.

It dries me perfectly.

The softest towel I ever had was some weird microfibre thing at a hostel. It made me realise that scratchy towels are better for drying, and I like the slightly exfoliating feel.

Another vote for crispy! I thought I was the only person on earth who liked them. You just can’t get dry with a soft one. A crispy one is super absorbent. Mine were practically standing up in their own when I brought them off the line last night, could hardly fold them in two - perfect!

I've always liked soft and fluffy, and found they dry me just fine, and disliked thin and crispy. Actually didn't know anyone preferred those, thought it was just a sign of old and crap towels, like my mother's. But you guys are actually starting to persuade me.

I need to have a long hot bath tonight and then wrap myself in my cloud-soft bath sheet to stop you all from pulling me over to the dark side.
