There's a few but one I see often that just makes me Hmm is 'what if they were your kids?'.

It's obviously always said in response to someone who is not the child's parent and therefore surely a completely pointless argument?!

What others do you always see and eye roll at?

Are you on glue?

MadamShazam · 17/09/2020 18:47

"Did you mean to be so rude?" Pisses me off no end. Like anybody would say that in real life 🙄

TinySongstress · 17/09/2020 18:47

No is a complete sentence.

Ohtherewearethen · 17/09/2020 18:47

I really, really hate, "No is a complete sentence," often said with a perceived wisdom. It is so ridiculous, it is not a complete sentence and therefore makes the user appear a bit silly.

SandysMam · 17/09/2020 18:48

You do you. Hate this!!!

Southernsoftie76 · 17/09/2020 18:48

‘Tag teaming with dh‘ annoys me as does et al and moot point, all regularly used on here.

IhateBoswell · 17/09/2020 18:48
Biscuit

That.

FTMF30 · 17/09/2020 18:48

Not a saying but this - Biscuit. It's childish and pathetic in my opinion. Either don't comment or use your words.

pasturesgreen · 17/09/2020 18:49

Put your ducks in a row. I can feel my blood pressure rising already Angry

EasyAndy101 · 17/09/2020 18:50

Is English your first language op?

riotlady · 17/09/2020 18:50

“YABU to use the word hubby” or any other vocabulary complaints when someone’s asking for advice

Southernsoftie76 · 17/09/2020 18:50

It’s always been a bit feisty on here but the last couple of months have been awful, everybody seems to be turning on each other and there’s not many lighthearted fun threads anymore.

makingmammaries · 17/09/2020 18:52

‘We went to a restaurant, think pizza place.’

Why would I need to think anything?

‘My best friend’s hen.’

Hen do, if you must.

Pluckedpencil · 17/09/2020 18:52

"just pottering at home"....to me equals watching too much TV while kids play too much on the tablet.

"I don't normally say this but, you should leave him"....equals, I say this, but would never in a million years go through with it outside of my Mumsnet life.

SilverOtter · 17/09/2020 18:52

Not a specific saying, but people who come on and, ignoring the actual question/point of the post, ask some unrelated question that is clearly a sly dig/way to turn the blame on/undermine the poster.

ComeOnEileen11 · 17/09/2020 18:53

Why did you have children with this man? What's the op supposed to do? Chuck the kids out because her relationship has hit the rocks?

No is a complete sentence.

Are you on glue? Sounds like a teenage retort...

TheGoogleMum · 17/09/2020 18:53

I really don't like "give your head a wobble"

NoSquirrels · 17/09/2020 18:54

“Education is not childcare”

Not because I undervalue teachers and education, but because it’s a dumb saying that nearly always misses the point a poster is trying to make.

Shahlalala · 17/09/2020 18:56

I’m just following so I can nod in agreement at all these.

I find there is often someone being totally affronted by a comment or similar and really they just can’t handle someone having a different opinion. It puts me off posting at all.

SinisterBumFacedCat · 17/09/2020 18:56

“You sound very entitled.“ said usually to someone who isn’t.

“Boils my piss” Yuck, I can smell the boiling piss now.

“Forever home” you will not live forever.

justoffshift · 17/09/2020 18:56

I really hate "has anyone done xyz" - of course someone on mumsnet with its huge amount of users has done it etc. Just say who has, not has anyone. GRRR

Polkapoo · 17/09/2020 18:57

YES. I hate this. Like what are people expecting the OP to say back to that? Just completely derails from the actual here and now problem.

Also 'you knew he had kids when you met him'
is often given as a complete reply when an OP complains about anything to do with being in a blended family, even if it's something that most people would also find annoying too. As if people should just foreshadow every single possible future scenario.

Bits and picky bits

DifficultPifcultLemonDifficult · 17/09/2020 18:58

I hate "totally outing myself here" or "name changed because this is outing" which is usually followed with something totally innocuous like 'I watch Britain's got talent' or 'I enjoy running'.

It's really not outing at all, is it.

I got a "did you mean to be so rude" on here the other day. I answered "yes, I did" because I really did mean it 😂😂

ZaraW · 17/09/2020 18:59

Shits and giggles. I really hate it.
