There's a few but one I see often that just makes me Hmm is 'what if they were your kids?'.

It's obviously always said in response to someone who is not the child's parent and therefore surely a completely pointless argument?!

What others do you always see and eye roll at?

NutsaboutFruit · 17/09/2020 20:02

I don't like "I lost my shit", especially if it's in the supermarket, at the school gate or at the poster's MIL's house (unfortunately I have a very literal imagination!)

wildcherries · 17/09/2020 20:04

@Monkeynuts18

Such a minor one but I really hate ‘fast forward to now’ or ‘fast forward two years’ when telling a story. Your life isn’t a film.
Dear Reader

I assume it's a bored troll and not someone with a real problem.

Whatifitallgoesright · 17/09/2020 20:04

Sure someone's said it but "get driving lessons/move" in response to a problem. Yes because we've all got a couple of grand savings lying around. For god's sake get some realisation that other people have different lives to you.

wildcherries · 17/09/2020 20:05

That was supposed to say + Dear Reader

Reader1984 · 17/09/2020 20:07

'Leave him.'

All because he ate your last custard cream.

NemesiaPinkLagoon · 17/09/2020 20:07

I hate "big girl pants" 🤮🤮🤮

WaterOffADucksCrack · 17/09/2020 20:09

The stealth boasts too! For example someone's posting emotionally about their husband being abusive and is looking for support. Then you always get at least one poster saying "well I don't have these problems as my husband is the kindest man in the world and he does xyz for me". It's rude and unhelpful.

"My son is called a name beginning with B, think Barry". We all know the alphabet!

People who ask you to cite research are pathetic. It's a forum not a lecture. Do your own research.

Posters who won't say what their husbands hobby is. When it's nearly always cycling.

Oh yeah. The automatic response to neighbour problems is 'move'. As if it's totally easy and doable over night.

Making memories.

You need to educate yourself.

Annoys me no end!

1984isnow · 17/09/2020 20:21

Something I find bizarre, rather than hate, is the 'why is my property not attracting views' threads. Posters are straight in to say put a plant pot here, the furniture is dated or other things that don't come with the house. I saw one post that stated they didn't like the style of the freestanding oven, another that said to move the sofa an inch so the feet sit just on the edge of the rug.

I don't think I've ever declined to view a property due to the seller's choice of furniture and decor.

SecretSpAD · 17/09/2020 20:23

Snack.

I didn't mind it before mn. Now it makes me cringe

DontDribbleOnTheCarpet · 17/09/2020 20:28

"Send her some flowers" as an answer to any disagreement involving a woman. Who are these people who constantly send flowers? Will nobody think of the asthmatics? Grin

Ohtherewearethen · 17/09/2020 20:28

Whenever somebody acts appallingly, posters fall over themselves to say they probably have dementia, autism or SEN. Because of course, those are the only causes of arseholery. Someone can't just be an arsehole. Also, the vast majority of people with dementia, autism and SEN are not arseholes but their medical diagnoses are used so casually to explain why someone is probably acting out.

SecretSpAD · 17/09/2020 20:29

Oh god yes. Even more annoying when you know that all they've done is google something. There's a particular poster on here who seems to spend her life googling stuff to suit her argument and posting miles and miles of text.

I'm a trained and experienced researcher. I know how to research. A google search is not fucking research ffs.

Staffy1 · 17/09/2020 20:29

@TheChippendenSpook

I also really dislike 'discuss.' Although you don't see that very often, thankfully.
I hate that too. It's almost like an order.
Darkstar4855 · 17/09/2020 20:31

I hate “fast forward” as in “fast forward two years and we’re living together” instead of “two years later we’re living together”. Seems to get used a LOT on Mumsnet and I have no idea why.

PurpleFlower1983 · 17/09/2020 20:31

‘Bits’ - What the fuck are bits?

‘Incandescent with rage’

Thereareliterallynonamesleft · 17/09/2020 20:33

@Reader1984

'Leave him.'

All because he ate your last custard cream.

Yes! I hate an LTB for something minor, usually combined with a stealth boast, like the OP says my husband never puts the bins out, and the response is LTB, this is abuse, he doesn’t respect you, my husband would not only put out the bins, he’d also cook a three course meal and go down on me too.
WaterOffADucksCrack · 17/09/2020 20:34

There's a particular poster on here who seems to spend her life googling stuff to suit her argument and posting miles and miles of text. I know exactly who you mean 😂😂😂

SanFrancisco49er · 17/09/2020 20:34

Educate yourself

Batch cooking

Questions such as "Is he always like this OP?" after the poster has given an opinion, and the OP gave 1 example with little context. I find it so presumptive and passive aggressive!

WaterOffADucksCrack · 17/09/2020 20:37

Ohh and the double standards! If a woman doesn't want to do a sexual act the man is a cunt for even asking. If a man doesn't want to do it he's having an affair or is being abusive by "withholding sex".

SpottyPlate · 17/09/2020 20:37

I work in schools and it irritates the hell out of me that when a parent has the slightest issue with a school like a lost jumper people think they should contact the governors or ofsted like that will solve everything.

ThankyouPeter · 17/09/2020 20:38

"I couldn't get worked up about this"

I don't know why but that one really winds me up.

OhCaptain · 17/09/2020 20:44

Are you on glue? was never funny. I remember the first thread when posters got hysterical about it. I was bemused then. I'm bemused now.

I HATE when posters don't RTFT and barrel in, hundreds of posts in without even checking if it's moved on!
