It was definitely said that anyone other than those who were black would not be welcome on the board. It was not said just once, but several times over the thread in posts that have been deleted.

Unless that is acknowledged, the issue will not go away or be moved past by many posters.

I can see from the board (which is now up and running) that is not now the case, which is great, but that was the original intention of PR.

HQ could you please check the few posts of mine that you deleted on the original campaigning threads to see if I said that only black people were welcome please?

Venice, you're one of the few posters who is perpetuating negative views and making people believe that MN is inherently racist. It's awful and I've asked you on previous threads to stop, because you're causing hurt and upset. You told me you wouldn't stop because it's an open forum. Those posts haven't been deleted, so there's no dispute over that. And true to your word, you're not stopping. You yourself may not be embarrassed by your behaviour, but you're embarrassing other people who are trying to be supportive, and even those that don't care about the new board but simply don't want to be tarred with the same brush as you. At the very least I want you to know that. I'm not going to ask you to stop any more because it's a waste of time and thread space. There is enough evidence to show that you are lying about what Patricks said, so I'm not going to engage with you any more.

Contrary to what you are suggesting, I have no other agenda. I am more than happy for the section to exist and I hope it prospers.

It's confuses me that some people think the word 'support' is intrinsically good. Supporting other people who are deliberately coming to cause trouble for black people is not a good thing to do. It's supporting racism.

That is your interpretation of it, it isn't necessarily a true representation of why they have posted.

Maybe they simply want the truth to be told? It cannot be proven with screenshots of posts as they were clearly reported (not by me) and they no longer exist.

Anybody making that kind of comment on here is being shouted down and bullied into submission. I am supporting those people. I am not easily bullied or cowed.

If you don't approve of that stance then do as you indicated you would previously and scroll by.

Popping back in to help you fill up the thread and leave less room for people to be nasty - well done Patrick for getting this board set up, hope everyone finds it really useful, and here's hoping this thread grinds to a halt (it's certainly been useful for working out which MN-ers to cross off the virtual Christmas card list - some people have revealed themselves to be out-and-out tossers).

Yes, I agree. Parrots do like to repeat the same things over and over in the same tree.

The chickens however, previously asked MN if they could sometimes roost on their own board.

This thread is really upsetting. What should have been a cause for celebration has been turned into an expectation to justify. It’s like the men coming on the feminist board asking what about us? Whatabouttery at its finest. Why do some people think they get to police other people’s space. If you’re not black, a black board has got fuck all to do with you. There are plenty of other spaces on this board and elsewhere and if you want to start your own thread about inclusive spaces, go do it. It's bloody awful and possibly the most depressing thing I've stumbled upon on here - that there are so many people who vary from downright insensitive all the way through to full-on racist, who would like to shit on a group of black women saying "you know what, along with Scotsnet and Craicnet and the litter tray and woolly hugs and telly addicts and Brexit and covid... we'd like a little corner to discuss the stuff that affects our lives."

Anyway, the good news is the new section is there, whether the bastards like it or not!
