AIBU to think that she is simply a revolting human being?

'Mingling' - ie accidentally bumping into a family/group you know in the street, having a quick chat and then leaving she now considers 'illegal' and she would call the police on you. But breaking international law isn't what they are doing at all.....not at all.....

A human rights lawyer has quickly called her out on it and said she is talking absolute rubbish.

It's scary how incompetent our government is.

I saw a report of those comments, and honestly....FFS? Is she on glue? Whatever the pros / cons of the Rule of Six, once you've got to the point of saying that two families stopping to stay hello in the street is illegal, you're making a laughing stock of the law. People aren't going to respond to that by complying- they'll respond by pulling the piss out of it and just losing patience with all restrictions, even the ones which are reasonably sustainable & make some kind of sense. I've seen that so much IRL at the moment - friends who have complied very strictly up till now and were very "but the rules..." about everything are just fed up & making fun of it.

Akire · 15/09/2020 14:15

I was laughing when she was on the radio. How She can spout so many lies on how wonderful the Government are and top this and highly rated that. When it such a shambles. You really worry is she stupid enough to believe it or thinks we are stupid enough to believe it.

I live opposite a school and pick up time many mums will stop for minute to chat to parent on child’s class who have siblings with them. They are all squashed up on the pavement with no masks it’s not going make a difference if they talk or not.

Heidi1976 · 15/09/2020 14:17

Her demeanour is just so hostile and aggressive. I saw a meme a while back that that they were bringing in someone to do the CV daily updates to replace her with more compassion, followed by a photo of Hannibal Lecter.....says a lot really!

But yes they are pretty much just making it up as they go along. It's very much a case of 'do as I say not as I do'. No self respecting adult will be on board with that for very long when their quality of life is suffering because of it.

I'm one of these. I have stuck to a 2m+ distance from everyone apart from my boyfriend since March, and will carry on with social distancing.

But these new rules are ridiculous; our extended family of 9 will be breaking the law if we have a socially distanced picnic in a park or private garden, or even stop for a chat if we bump into each other on a walk, but if we bump into each other at a pub, then that's fine, get another round in Confused.

Oh and it's fine for up to 30 people to play football or go hunting etc.

FarTooSkinny · 15/09/2020 15:00

I take a shotgun with me everytime I go to the park. It is then legal for up to 30 of us to 'mingle'

CrimsonCattery · 15/09/2020 15:06

She is such a dick and always smirking which doesn't help.

The rules are currently in a ludicrous state. I think allowing big hunting groups was the thing that has pissed me off the most today.

AlrightTreacle · 15/09/2020 15:20

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

That just made me spit my tea out laughing! What the f is going on in the world where you can't have a socially distanced picnic with 7 people, but shooting birds with 29 other people is okay?!

hexmeginny · 15/09/2020 15:20

A dim, arrogant woman who just regurgitates lies and propaganda. much like the rest of Johnson's cronies.

Nicetableinnit · 15/09/2020 15:32

She is such a, well, ignorant Tory.
We live in in a community by the school where we run into people/families literally everyday. We have a hobby ( not organised) where we go to the same part of our beach a couple times a week and almost always bump into friends with their families doing the same. So yeah, we will stop and say hi if it happens to be us and them and then another friend happens to be there.
Happens all the time. Yesterday we went to beach straight after school and ran into 4 other family grps - not pre-organised. But she'd have called thew cops because we actually spoke to them all???

pigsDOfly · 15/09/2020 15:36

I'm another one who has stuck to everything but this rule of 6 thing is just beyond stupid.

I could accept the need to lockdown, to keep a 2 metre distance, to wear masks and so on; was happy to do it if it meant greater safety for us all.

How though, can it be acceptable for some people to mix in groups of up to 30 but other groups of 7 or 8 people could face being find?

There's either a risk for more than 6 people meeting inside or outdoors or there isn't.

I've always considered myself a reasonably intelligent person, but I'm clearly missing the finer points of these new rules.

Anyone able to enlighten me?

SallySeven · 15/09/2020 15:36

The shotgun idea is a good un

unmarkedbythat · 15/09/2020 15:37

Yanbu at all

SallySeven · 15/09/2020 15:39

I think the "one metre venue" signs are laughable tbh. I'm staying outside for the foreseeable!

Metalhead · 15/09/2020 15:40

I’m off to buy a shotgun...

I'm off to my local country outdoors shop to get kitted up for my next 'mingle' then!!

Can't wait to see her spitting image puppet.

AuntyPasta · 15/09/2020 15:51

I don’t like her or her politics.

’Her demeanour is just so hostile and aggressive.’

This ^ bothers me. There are plenty of male politicians who have a similar attitude and demeanour. How many of them are described as ‘hostile and aggressive?’ It echoes women being described as strident for behaviour that we’d describe as assertive if it came from a man.

Unescorted · 15/09/2020 15:52

Does the shotgun have to work? Or could I just have a shotgun made of cardboard... the likelihood of me shooting anything with either is roughly the same. I could wear tweeds to make it more realistic.

Shamoo · 15/09/2020 15:55

She’s a vile vile vile human being. And incompetent. And stupid. And a liar.

How we have got to a place where a person like that is in such a position of power is so so demoralising. If she was capable it wouldn’t be quite so bad, but she’s beyond useless.

CustardySergeant · 15/09/2020 16:01

Have you seen this and this ? You're in for a treat if you haven't seen them before.

Sophiafour · 15/09/2020 16:01

All of this is starting to sound awfully 1930s....hope anyone who voted this government in is proud of themselves.

ChaChaCha2012 · 15/09/2020 16:05

@AuntyPasta I can't think of any other MP who comes across in such a manner, male or female. I can call them lots of other names, but none have her aggression. The closest comparable figure (non MP) I can think of is Nigel Farage, and he rightly gets called out for it.

CustardySergeant · 15/09/2020 16:09

I forgot the best one! The counter-terrorism mix-up

PickAChew · 15/09/2020 16:16

I was a bit WTF at her insistence that there is no shortage of test availability. Silly, silly people we are for not realising that.
