AIBU to think that she is simply a revolting human being?

'Mingling' - ie accidentally bumping into a family/group you know in the street, having a quick chat and then leaving she now considers 'illegal' and she would call the police on you. But breaking international law isn't what they are doing at all.....not at all.....

This new breed of Tory are an absolute disgrace. John Profumo would’ve loved to have been around at this time instead of resigning in disgrace in the 60s. You can now commit treason (as Patel did in Israel), lie, lie, lie and break the law without a backwards glance let alone hand in your notice in shame.

I don’t know who these infiltrators are but they are not Tories. They are not the party of aspiration. They are are breed of liars, manipulators, PR people, grifters and criminals who’ve realised the traditional Tories are dying out and have cultivated a new base made up of people suffering from ‘last place aversion’. They will ruin us all.

I've met thousands of politicians over the years and the current administration really are the worst I've ever met. And it has nothing to do with party politics. There have been lovely individuals in all parties (UKIP & BNP excepted) and horrible individuals in all parties.

This lot really are exceptionally nasty.

At least as much talent has left the Tories as left Labour but whats left at the top are largely unprincipled and incompetent.

The Tories have always attracted this type, along with a lot of bigots (as the left attracts idiots too) and they have been moving in this direction for a while.

What's changed is that Johnson culled or drove off the vast weight of experienced, principled, competent MPs (some of whom might have been gits, but they played by the rules and broadly cared about the country). There just aren't enough left to reign the nutters in and the experienced people who are left are largely quieter and more concerned with either party unity or Brexit at all cost.

I can't remember any time in the past when the Tories (of all parties) would keep an idiot at the top just to avoid a messy leadership contest but they have done it with the last 2 PMs.

Did you think she came over as intelligent when she so proudly boasted about shoplifting figures being down when all the shops were shut? And did she sound reasonable when she blamed lawyers for stopping her illegal deportations?

This ship of fools that masquerades as a Tory government is composed of charlatans, chancers, cowards and con men. They are as representative of traditional Conservatives as Corbyn was of the average Labour voter. Patel's gender and/or ethnicity are of no relevance when commenting on both her beliefs and ability. She has repellent views and is in a position, as Home Secretary, to affect us all. She is not fit for her current position but, given the rest of them, what better could we expect?

She reminds me of several people I have worked with in some of the worst call centres. They are brilliant at their job because they follow orders to the letter and never deviate from the script or use any common sense even if the client is dead and there is a wake being held for them in the house at that very moment. They don't care, and employers love them.
