'Mingling' - ie accidentally bumping into a family/group you know in the street, having a quick chat and then leaving she now considers 'illegal' and she would call the police on you. But breaking international law isn't what they are doing at all.....not at all.....

A human rights lawyer has quickly called her out on it and said she is talking absolute rubbish.

On the other hand, just because she's a female non-left wing woman of colour, that doesn't prevent her from being a bigoted, intolerant, bullying, lying, thick and thoroughly unpleasant specimen of humanity. And the fact that the same and worse could be said of Johnson, Gove, Cummings, Francois, Baker, Truss and numerous others doesn't change any of that.

Diane Abbott and Dawn Butler get far more abuse than Patel does. The difference is the comments aimed at Priti Patel are justified.

My comments around her being hostile and aggressive have got absolutely nothing to do with her being a woman or Asian. It's her personality that is the problem. A man who speaks the way she does would get exactly the same comments made. The amount of times I've heard her say 'I've been really clear on this point' in that condescending tone whenever she is questioned on anything and then proceeds to spout a load of aggressive bullshit is unbelievable. She's smug, a liar and if her peers are to be believed, a bully. How are these types of people getting into these positions?? This is reflective of the whole government and beyond. People who abuse positions of power infuriate me.

I haven’t actually seen her speak but I find quite a lot of MPs (largely males) to be hostile and aggressive in parliament. It’s one of my bugbears actually. If I were in charge I wouldn’t allow any grandstanding - you would answer any questions put to you in a clear, calm and concise manner or there would be consequences. Possibly involving being locked in a room with rubbish music on repeat for a long period of time.

Cutting out this bullshit which clouds the actual issues would mean we could get a lot more done. I await the day I’m elected. It’s just a shame I have an abrasive and unwelcoming personality so this is unlikely to ever happen. This saddens me.

Hostile and aggressive in Parliament is (depressingly) normal. They’re arguing with each other. In interviews, though, they’re supposed to be aware that they are speaking to the electorate. And she speaks as if the interviewer and audience are contemptible.

Besides all of which, she’s Home Secretary. It’s supposed to be one of the great offices of state. It’s not unreasonable to hold those in the position of most power to the very highest standard. Though, tbf, with Johnson as PM the standard has slipped of late.

I think she's great and is doing a good job. I appreciate if you're a Labour voter that you feel pissed off at your party being decimated at the last election and feel a bit helpless but I'm not sure I understand how ripping a woman to shreds helps, nor what you think it achieves?
