Why are white people offended by black people talking about racism?

Obviously not all white people are racist and name changed - in case of gaslighting.

Because they may feel that inherent is the implication that they are at fault somehow. When talking about racism we simplify it to an oppressor and an oppressed, white people are seen as oppressors so by virtue of skin colour a person may feel like it is directed at them

@AMemeByAnyOtherName Thank you for explaining and for last couple of posts - what you have said here has made so much more of an immediate impact on me than any number of other posts on other threads over the last week or so. Hearing personal stories means that you can put yourself in someone else's shoes and empathise. Thank you again.

Do we villify all Germans for what happened to Jews in WWII?

We don't, but the Germans have built museums and have acknowledged their fault as a nation.
It's not quite brushed under the carpet.

Because they’re racist ? I can’t think of any other reason TBH

Exactly. Last time I checked, Germany didn’t have statues of Joseph mengele or Herman Goering! Yet statues of slave owners are all over the bloody place. Germany is acutely aware of their history and it’s horror is taught in schools. That is the difference- the level of acknowledgment of wrong doing.
