@RainbowRaine
Yes I do and am envious- I so wanted to do that!

I was on How the Other Half Live.

Toddlerteaplease · 12/09/2020 19:57

Yes. I was on Hospital a couple of years ago. It was filmed on my ward. I was measuring the child and was struggling to work out the measuring gauge so told the mum the wrong height. It was about two years ago and I still have lived it down.

feelingdizzy · 12/09/2020 20:18

Yes, on a programme about making a new life. I was interviewed and had cameras follow me and kids for the day Smile

Catname · 12/09/2020 20:45

I was paid to be on Playaway circa 1981 Smile

TwoBlueFish · 12/09/2020 20:50

Yes, in the background of an episode of Aussie soap Heatbreak High.

tobee · 12/09/2020 21:04

I was on Right to Reply years ago as a "young person" talking about a Wicked Willy advert to get people to use condoms. Grin It was incredibly boring, went on for hours, had to keep thinking of things to say. I thought it was a crap advert and the bit they used was a bit where I said something opposite to what I thought ! Hmm

I always feel for those who open exam results on tv and hope they only choose people who've done really well! But maybe that's because for me exam results equals trauma

I was on a documentary when I was about 7 about the future of farming- they were interviewing kids who wanted to be farmers. I have no idea how I got involved, we were on a day out somewhere and they asked my parents if they could talk to me. I didn't want to be a farmer. They asked me whether I would rather drive a tractor or a motorbike and I said motorbike. I vividly remember the much younger child after me biting the pink fluffy microphone to see if it was a sausage.

itsgettingweird · 12/09/2020 21:15

A few times.

Put it to the test.

Whatever GMTV or GMB was when it did the visiting holiday places abroad with Mr Motivator!

A charity record breaking attempt. Just panned by us and caught me.

Holidays from Hell Grin wasn't about me and I wasn't working at hotel involved but worked for the company and lived local and happened to be picking up my colleagues (I had a car) after their shift.
So I'm in background - luckily not in uniform 🤣

PlinkPlink · 12/09/2020 21:17

I was on the local news talking about the sudden rise of takeaways in our area. But they edited it out to make me look like I was saying the opposite of what I said 🙄🙄 never trust journalists

skankingpiglet · 12/09/2020 21:17

I was in a Crimewatch reconstruction about 16/17 yrs ago 😂

itsgettingweird · 12/09/2020 21:17

If I gave details and out who I am!

deste · 12/09/2020 21:21

TylluanBach · 12/09/2020 22:06

Yes, when I had a book published Smile

biscuitcakes · 12/09/2020 22:14

Yes, back of my head in the audience for Top of the Pops in the 90s when Blur and Oasis were having the Britpop
battle!

YummyJamDoughnut · 12/09/2020 22:20

A couple of times, but not in a speaking part.
First time, I was 6 and they did some local news thing in our infants school, we all had to sit quietly and do our maths work while the reporter talked, can't even remember what it was about! They removed the "naughty" kids from the class and replaced them with the well behaved ones from the year below...
Second, I was 9 and someone from the royal family (can't remember how, but wasn't the Queen) visited our town, all the school children were out to line the streets while she went to open something, so I was briefly shown
Final time, was 21 and in the background of another local news piece in another town.

TrickorTreacle · 12/09/2020 22:37

This is an ace thread!!

Apparently I was on BBC Midlands Today (regional news program) in summer 1999. A group of us were rehearsing for a charity theatre production. A few hours later, someone told me that some TV crew turned up and I starred in their news article.

Like with many others in this thread, I never got to see the article myself and it was only through what others had said.

Wannabegreenfingers · 13/09/2020 00:01

Yes twice. Once for an episode of Trisha!! And once hosting a slot on the ideal world shopping channel!!

Saracen · 13/09/2020 00:03

I was an extra in a Channel 4 film. I could tell it was going to be crap and didn't bother to watch it when it came out!

Iminaglasscaseofemotion · 13/09/2020 00:04

No but my dp and his family were on a whole series.

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 13/09/2020 00:14

Was on Look East (local telly) doing a very worthy play about joyriding when I was about twelve.

Was on the Big Breakfast doing the seven o'clock spot when I was about 14.

Was an extra in a film about Manchester club life, can't remember what it was called but Ralph Little was in it.

Oh, and did songs of praise when I was about six.

Bethiboo40 · 13/09/2020 00:20

Waving profusely at the cameras on an episode of Treasure Hunt when they came to Beamish Museum circa 1986/87 whilst on our School "trip" Was also on local news in the crowd when Stefan Dennis came to open The In-shops in The Galleries, Washington in 1989/90 Grin

TippledPink · 13/09/2020 00:21

I was on the One Show on a feature about Stress, was interviewed by Michael Moseley!

Also part of an experiment in cook yourself thin on diet aids, I had to listen to a placebo hypnosis cd and see if it helped me lose weight (I didn't know it was placebo and yes I lost weight, others in my group didn't though!).

Vivana · 13/09/2020 00:25

Yes I have been a extra when I was a kid. Been on a few programmes back then

PastMyBestBeforeDate · 13/09/2020 00:28

I was interviewed by John Craven. I also had my hands filmed handling frozen veg when I worked in a supermarket for a children's programme on the BBC but I never asked which one.

HunkyPunk · 13/09/2020 01:00

Yes, twice. And I haven't seen either! The first time, dh and I had gone with ds1 and 2 (3 hadn't arrived yet!) to an open day at a local country house where they had camel racing. Apparently there was a sustained shot of us watching a race, oblivious to the camera. That was aired on our local news programme, which several friends mentioned seeing.

The second time, I was interviewed for a national news programme concerning the novichok incident in Salisbury, soon after it happened, following a question I had plucked up the courage to ask at one of the public meetings. A clip of my question was broadcast on Radio 4's World at One. I heard that, only because I happened to be driving down to be interviewed with R4 on in the car and got the shock of my life to hear myself on the radio! I did the TV interview (not live) complete with a 'walking shot', and recorded it when it was broadcast, but haven't ever had the nerve to watch, as I'm v self-conscious about seeing myself and don't like hearing my own voice!
