I once was about 15 years ago getting my GCSEs results.

OP posts:
EggyPegg · 11/09/2020 22:05

I was Pilgrim of the Day on Deal or No Deal. I had to swap the box for the contestant (I can't remember the outcome). Noel Edmunds was lovely.

I was front row for Slash at Glastonbury in 2010. You can still see me during Sweet Child of Mine on YouTube.

And when I was about 9, I was on local news in London as we were stood outside Downing Street when the PM came out of the gates (John Major). I was picking my nose. Delightful.

I’ve been on Jeremy Kyle. It was as bad as you’d expect off screen, winding up guests to get them to fight etc. I don’t talk about it in real life because it’s embarrassing Blush

SirGawain · 11/09/2020 22:07

@wineandcatsandlego

In the audience for Jeremy Kyle!
Why would anybody do that!
Caplin · 11/09/2020 22:09

Quite a bit. I’m politically active and used to organise media opportunities, so have appeared in the background, in tv interviews, Audiences, Vox pops, etc.

Did some extra work as a kid.

Also worked on a red carpet with big a listers which meant I went on global news (in the background as I shuffled them into place 😁).

Oldraver · 11/09/2020 22:09

On a Clubland cd advert

We were stopped going into Space Ibiza and 'interviewed' about British clubbing, though the interviewer was really putting words in my gobby mates mouth

A week after coming back I saw the ad on tv

HowFastIsTooFast · 11/09/2020 22:13

A couple of times singing in secondary school gospel choir, local news and Blue Peter as I remember.

I was asked to do a video call with a (lovely) local journo for local news when I was abroad in the summer. Absolute hard no.

samandpoppysmummy · 11/09/2020 22:14

I was on GMTV every morning for a week in 2003, doing the beauty segment on Lorraine Kelly's programme with three of my best friends. We were testing lots of different products (filmed the week before) and then talking about them on the live show. It was so much fun and a great memory :)

I was also on the 1.00 and 10.00 news when the National Lottery first started. I went into a newsagents in Camden to pick up my weekly order of Melody Maker and NME and a film crew were in there. They gave me a pound and asked me to walk back into the shop, fill in one of the red and white cards and filmed it going into the the ticket machine and the ticket coming out. Then I had to say thank you and goodbye and pretend to leave the shop. I was amazed how many people I knew saw me on the news but I didn't actually see it myself 😁

AgeLikeWine · 11/09/2020 22:14

Yes, I was on Blockbusters with my mate Andy when we were in sixth form. We won! Smile

Katkincake · 11/09/2020 22:15

As a kid when they filmed a kids tv prog in our school. There were some lovely scenes of well mannered children and then I appeared yelling at the top of my voice across the playground. My mum was mortified.

Sadly I’m also on TV a lot more these days for my job, as I’m one of my organisations national spokespeople when something’s happening that we’re part of.

WitchQueenofDarkness · 11/09/2020 22:17

Yes. Several times as a child and more recently in “Britain’s secret treasures”

AnnaSW1 · 11/09/2020 22:18

Yes. In docs for work

PiggyPlumPie · 11/09/2020 22:19

@EggysMom I was filmed for a similar program doing Aqua natal but they only showed our legs! Maybe the same one?

I was also shown finishing the London Marathon and that clip was repeated on Points of View.

zeddybrek · 11/09/2020 22:25

I opened my A Level results live on GMTV. I was shaking I was so nervous.

Time40 · 12/09/2020 00:56

I was an extra in a Pet Shop Boys video.

Finfintytint · 12/09/2020 01:12

I have been the miserable Police Officer in the background to many crime scenes on local news. Does that count? Grin

Dutypaid · 12/09/2020 01:13

In an advert and an extra in tourism programmes.

ladybird69 · 12/09/2020 01:18

As a cute toddler on a holiday programme at Bristol zoo. As a teenager at a Paul young concert at Birmingham.

Ruthietuthie · 12/09/2020 02:00

I was a BBC child actor. I was one of the "gang" in "Why Don't You" and appeared in "Grotbags."

Tillygetsit · 12/09/2020 02:47

Yes talking about the job I was in at the time. Also on a quiz show called (I think) Plenty of Fish and in the audience of a political debate.
Funniest though was a news piece on a local attraction and you could see me running after a tantruming dd in the background.

Jd1313 · 12/09/2020 02:49

2 blue Peter badges, a BBC show and a protest

Tillygetsit · 12/09/2020 02:58

Oh and on Ready Steady Cook. Still got the signed apron.

dalmatianmad · 12/09/2020 03:26

Working in the Emergency department I've been on TV quite alot for the programme 24 hours in A+E Hmm. My voice sounds horrendous and I've no idea why no one ever told me!

ThisIsNotARealAvo · 12/09/2020 04:03

In the audience for Vanessa about 25 years ago! You could definitely see us though.

About 4 years ago I was walking past the ITV studio on the South Bank and a man asked me and my friend if we wanted to "do a walk on telly" and we said yes! We had to walk past as if chatting. It was around Christmas and the whole cast and crew of This Morning came out to sing carols.

sapnupuas · 12/09/2020 04:12

@WomenHour

I once was about 15 years ago getting my GCSEs results.
Same.

And on the opening credits of Star Pets when it came to my village, but no one even remembers the show!

tatasa · 12/09/2020 04:49

I was randomly stopped and questioned about a local team making the finals against the odds. All I could think of at the time was i have no makeup on, but actually didn't look too bad. The team lost btw.
