I once was about 15 years ago getting my GCSEs results.

I was caught on camera on a day when my clothes were wrong, everything was wrong. The shots were included in the introduction to a weather report and shown for years.

seayork2020 · 12/09/2020 05:28

I may have been in the background for an antiques roadshow

PutThemInTheIronMaiden · 12/09/2020 05:55

In the Judge Rinder audience a few times, Jeremy Kyle once and blink and miss me in the background on Brookside.

On a news item for the first obesity centre in France outside a hospital. Didn't get a video, wish I had.

Linning · 12/09/2020 06:43

A few times for different reasons, I personally hate how fake the whole TV thing is though, so wouldn't want to make a living out of it.

cinnabarmoth · 12/09/2020 07:02

Yes, in a programme about kids growing up in non-typical households (I grew up in a commune).

DurhamDurham · 12/09/2020 07:43

@Cissyandflora I'll give it a go, thanks Grin

@DurhamDurham

Oh and once when I'd decided to skip school and go and see Tiffany sing at the shopping centre in Newcastle, I was sixteen and kept my six year old sister off school to go with me. We had the best time but when watching the local news that evening with the family, there we were right at the front waving and clapping.

I got into a lot of trouble for that.

I know of someone who, with a group of friends, skipped high school to watch a concert and then were on the front page of the newspaper the next day. Photo was of the queue and they were at the front!

Their form tutor cut the the photo out and put it up on the wall in her classroom!

Crylittlesister · 12/09/2020 08:00

I was on Children in Need 30 years ago, performing in one of their "Let's see what's happening around the country".
I was randomly interviewed by Belgian tv when out for dinner in Covent Garden. The topic was the price of food. I have no idea if it (I) was shown on tv in Belgium.

WitsEnding · 12/09/2020 08:01

Twice since lockdown, once doing a vox pop about the effect on the service I volunteer for, once taking part in outdoor swim

MayDayHelp · 12/09/2020 08:01

Was on the news dancing the conga when my school was closing down.

Then in a channel 4 documentary in 1999 off my tits on drugs.

BurMaMa2 · 12/09/2020 08:06

Was on BBC main news in the 70's, being interviewed about illegal drug use in inner city London.

monsterad · 12/09/2020 08:07

In the audience for Trisha, and in the audience for Comedy Roadshow!

IamMaz · 12/09/2020 08:18

I was asked by BBC to be in a documentary - but it was a very controversial issue at the time so I refused.

FuzzyPuffling · 12/09/2020 08:21

Yes, being interviewed about children's literacy.

EoinMcLovesCakeJumper · 12/09/2020 08:25

Someone with exactly the same name as me once appeared on 15 to 1 (in the William G Stewart days) and, despite the fact that she was 20 years older than me and had a strong Geordie accent, people wouldn't quite believe it wasn't me. I kept getting emails from people who I hadn't seen in a while asking me if I'd moved to Newcastle. I do have an unusual name but come on...

EmbarrassedUser · 12/09/2020 08:34

We were on Real Rescues with Nick Knowles. DS (8) had called the emergency services when I had a seizure, they played a section of the call and Nick interviewed him. He got a certificate and lot of praise. They paid for our train ticket and expenses. All our family and friends watched! Fun day out.

Sheknowsaboutme · 12/09/2020 08:44

I had a bit part in a soap years ago. Just for 6 weeks.

Been on the news being interviewed and i sang on tv few times.

Then i got a proper job!

DuckyMcDuck · 12/09/2020 09:00

I was a volunteer for ChildLine about 30 years ago and I was filmed picking up the phone and saying something. It's funny though as they still use the footage in news sections sometimes and all I can see is ow dreadful my hair is (yes, perms were in at the time)

Stannisbaratheonsboxofmatches · 12/09/2020 09:01

Not really. Just shown in the crowd watching the Paralympics.

Beck30 · 12/09/2020 09:15

Interviewed a couple of times on the financial markets channel when I was in Asia. One of the companies I said may go bust is now worth about £50bn...

MuseumOfYou · 12/09/2020 09:20

Yes, DH and I appeared on a channel 4 cookery competition, we were on 3 episodes and it aired a year ago this week. It was a brilliant experience. Had to cook 120 street food meals, (3 different options) from scratch in 3 hrs.

x2boys · 12/09/2020 09:37

I haven't but Ds1 was in a clip on local news about a local youth club type thing climbing a climbing wall, and Ds2 ( special) school came second in a virgin media Xmas competition so there was a recording of them doing a bit of their Xmas performance in the virgin media Xmas boxset , apparently dh skipped work years ago ( before I met him) to watch his favourite football team at Wembley ,and there was a clip on the local news of him yelling and cheering 😂
