I once was about 15 years ago getting my GCSEs results.

OP posts:

Quite a few times!
I sat next to captain sensible on a fairground ride at the Radio one roadshow and it was filmed for TV.
I was in the audience on the fame game.
I was in the background, walking past the TV studios when This Morning was filmed in Liverpool.
Cheering our team bus home, when I should have been at home.

Serin · 11/09/2020 21:41

Should have been at school, not at home!

Elletine · 11/09/2020 21:42

I used to work in production on a handful of the shiny floor shows so I used to be caught on the peripherals/ backgrounds/ running around like a headless chicken. Hated it 🙈

YoTheGinPussyOnThigh · 11/09/2020 21:43

I was in the audience of Kilroy when a man dropped his trousers and flashed to the audience and camera. It went out live so couldn’t be cut out of the show. The cameras panned around the audience who with one exception were deeply shocked. I was shown laughing.

TheCanyon · 11/09/2020 21:43

BBC Scotland news years ago, nearly 20 Shock I was in the Scottish youth parliament.

ghostyslovesheets · 11/09/2020 21:43

my ex was in an advert for the British Beer Council - he was a punk with a red mohawk - they stopped him in the street and asked him to do it - it went something like 'they like beer, they like beer (lots of 'normal people') and EVEN he likes beer'' - wish we could find a copy to show the kids

LEELULUMPKIN · 11/09/2020 21:43

@Babdoc Jealous! I soooo wanted to be on Crackerjack!

DENMAN03 · 11/09/2020 21:43

@DurhamDurham

I was on Blockbusters, still have my signed dictionary but have lost my sweatshirt. Had the best time, lots of young people in a hotel together without parental supervision for the first time. Such a laugh and Bob was lovely.
Me too! It was great fun!
bellinique · 11/09/2020 21:44

Only in Outer Mongolia (true story)

Piggyhoolier · 11/09/2020 21:45

Several times, including 2 adverts and a film. I watched the film again recently on Netflix, I’m entirely blink and you miss me.

Gotofriggingsleep · 11/09/2020 21:45

I was a topless 7yr old in the crowd at an agricultural event that made it onto the news (it was an absolutely boiling day) and then on the show Pointless years later.

DurhamDurham · 11/09/2020 21:48

@DENMAN03 I didn't do very well but had great fun, good to look back on isn't it Smile

ToastyCrumpet · 11/09/2020 21:49

Yes, I did a piece to camera about 20 years ago.

amusedtodeath1 · 11/09/2020 21:50

I was on TV (NW Only) twice a day everyday for years!

It's not that exciting really, my mum once gave an interview regarding a local matter and they filmed me and her walking down the street. Then they added a few seconds of the footage to the intro/outro montage.

Only thing was I was 8 years old and wearing a huge winter coat with hood up and you couldn't even tell it was me.Grin

SimonJT · 11/09/2020 21:50

Yes, I was on the news as an ‘industry expert’ it was all very boring, made even more boring that our industry is a bit boring.

wafflethewonderdog · 11/09/2020 21:53

On local news with a class of children at a local museum. We'd been told the day before they would be filming there if we were ok with it. We met disgraced TV weatherman Fred Talbot Hmm

SparkyTheCat · 11/09/2020 21:55

Yes, I was interviewed for a documentary.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 11/09/2020 21:55

In the front row of the Last Night of the Proms, 1990, next to dh - I met him in the queue for the Last Night that year, and we had our 28th wedding anniversary this year.

eddiemairswife · 11/09/2020 21:57

We won Ask the Family in the 1970's.

PandoraRocks · 11/09/2020 21:59

Yes. I'm an antiques dealer and have been on Bargain Hunt and Antiques Road Trip. Will be on the Road Trip again as they have recently filmed for the next series.

iswhois · 11/09/2020 22:00

Yes!!! I sung silent night at Leeds castle with my primary school for the morning Meridian. Had to wake up at 5 am on a freezing December morning

MaMaLa321 · 11/09/2020 22:01

I was on the Weakest Link and our house was done on the Great British Interior Design Challenge. I remember another MNer was on a previous season

Still trying to work out what the AIBU bit is, though

iswhois · 11/09/2020 22:01

I also featured on the news coverage of Reading festival when I was 17, I was on my friends shoulders belting out the lyrics to 39 Seconds to Mars GrinGrinGrin

Cissyandflora · 11/09/2020 22:02

@DurhamDurham there’s a brilliant documentary on Prime about two Tiffany fans. Check it out!

Bigbuurrrd · 11/09/2020 22:03

It didn't go to TV but I'm in a documentary on pre eclampsia called under pressure. It was American made and featured in film/documentary festivals. Hope it gets on telly one day.
