I'm only being light hearted. But do you ever get curious what It would be like to be with a different type of man. Not to cheat or anything. Just a curious to what's the difference.

I'm with a lovely man who works with computers. So he's not an outdoorsy man really. He likes a walk. But he isnt into sport apart from formula one. He's a really hands on dad. Does a little around the house but he's useless at keeping tidy. he happily pops anywhere to get anything and he's very caring. But he is not one of those blokes that cuts the grass regular. Gets on with painting (I always have to do it to get him to help) and he's not a drinker or one of the lads if that makes sense. He's always moaning he's tired and if he cuts the grass his backs gone for the rest of the day lol!

I have some workmen outside doing a driveway. Group of 6. They are very blokey. Smoking.(not saying this is attractive lol) working hard for 10 hours a day lifting and digging etc. I can't help but think ooo they look manly. It's just something about an outdoorsy tradesman.

Probably making myself sound a horrible person. I just sometimes wonder what it would be like to be with the more man's man man 😂

I want to make it clear I'm happy but appreciating the flexing muscles outside and the dirty white t shirts 😂😂

Just because you’re on a diet doesn’t mean you can’t look at the menu!

We have a fire hydrant outside our house and regularly get an appliance and crew outside either checking it or filling up. DH generally alerts me “Darling your eye candy is here”. Extra bad for me as if it is the watch my friend’s DH is on!

Shoregirl8 · 11/09/2020 09:29

@MrsRobinsonsHandprints

Ouch lol. Sexist pervert lol. We are human. There is nothing wrong with finding people attractive or finding people masculine, funny, confident. We are allowed to enjoy outselves. I'm sure the tradesmen would be flattered to have their muscles appreciated by women. They don't hold back on wolf whistling. I've been winked at and spoken to by bin men and builders before. No big deal.

Love it! Exactly. Women just act more innocent. But men are always checking out women and the fact women can get so many occupation outfits for the bedroom says it all. Maybe there is a gap in the market for us. Tradesman bedroom clothes lol!![/quote]
There’s an idea for LoveHoney!

Shoregirl8 · 11/09/2020 09:30

@CouldBeOuting

Haha love it. That's the relationship we have too. It's just humour. But ultimately we love eachother. My partner is prone to perving on demi Lovato. He likes red hair too. We laugh about it together. We know we are happy. X

It's not called Screwfix for nothing...

Imissmoominmama · 11/09/2020 09:30

I’m not enjoying the lazy stereotypes either.

However, I do enjoy a bit of window shopping- as does DH. We never buy though Wink.

NewAutumnName · 11/09/2020 09:31

I guess the grass always appears greener and we tend to look at the best attributes of others but focus on both the nice and the not so nice attributes of ours.

Could always try someone completely new with your partner..spice it up a bit/role play etc

Imissmoominmama · 11/09/2020 09:32

Someone new?? Shock

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 11/09/2020 09:32

Screwfix is a good place to find them

You do realise that said establishment is just a large shop that sells thousands of very mundane products and isn't actually a hook-up joint for those who have a thing for tradesmen? Granted, they don't help to dispel that belief by choosing that name Grin

Is this your man?

blindmansbluff · 11/09/2020 09:32

My husband is a mechanic, he comes home filthy and smelling of car parts. It's amazing!

Plus he doesn't drink at all, no gambling and is amazing in the sack Grin perfect

My husband is an electrician, but probably dresses/acts more like how you describe your husband. But when he rolls up his sleeves and does something really smart and electrical (lol) around the house I'm like ooooo...veiny man hands doing hard work. It's like a cavewoman response, I think!

Shoregirl8 · 11/09/2020 09:37

@blindmansbluff

Oooo you lucky lady. Haha

@WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll

Hahaha. Yes.

Literally you have all made my morning. Thanks for joining in on the perving Grin

I think it makes you feel looked after lol

Everytime My fusebox needs flicking (no pun intended ) it's me who has to press it because he forgets which button. But he makes yummy pasta 🍝 😂

It's just something about an outdoorsy tradesman.

I totally get it. We’ve had a lot of building work done 🤣....and clearly a couple of them have a reciprocal thing for posh MC mummy types, so they often still call in for coffee 🤣

passthemustard · 11/09/2020 09:40

My first two serious relationships were with computer guys. Both very intelligent and used words I didn't understand. I liked the academic challenge but neither were very practical.
My first would get his parents to do everything, gardening, decorating, car maintenance, everything.
The next, my DlateH, took a year to decorate the hallway.
When I was back in the market I mentioned to my hairdresser that I wanted a real manly man, a builder or something. Ended up with a bloody artist. I guess we all have our types 😂

PickACoolUserName · 11/09/2020 09:41

Are you married to my husband OP? All sounds very familiar.

Disfordarkchocolate · 11/09/2020 09:42

Even my husband jokes he's a real man when we get post from Screwfix. I wouldn't change a thing about him but it's a fine day when he's in a suit and tie and not his normal office clothes.

monkeyonthetable · 11/09/2020 09:42

I just don't get the builder attraction. I hate having builders in the house and feel really tense when they are around. I think that testosterone winds me up in a bad way. I prefer very gentle, arty or bookish men. But I do have a thing for those infallibly upbeat optimistic types with bags of energy. It would probably drive me nuts to live with one, but DH is very downbeat and cautious and tends to assume the worst. I daydream about a man who assumes anything is possible and is up for adventure.

Definitely! I'm bored of sexy firefighter, sexy cop etc. Let's start a range of tradesmen themed fantasy clothes. Slightly grubby overalls, polo shirts with company logo, saggy cargo shorts...

Shoregirl8 · 11/09/2020 09:44

@nevermorelenore

Hahahaha yes. I want those navy blue mechanic things too. Hire a digger for the weekend 😂

One of my oldest friends from school is a builder. And a couple of friends' husbands are too. Their houses are an absolute state. The last thing the men want to do when they get back from work is fix up their own homes.

Shoregirl8 · 11/09/2020 09:46

@monkeyonthetable

I get that last point. My partner doesn't get bouncy very often. My cousin's husband seems like he's constantly on red bull and needs peeling of the ceiling. He's brilliant for an hour. But he's very competitive which would do my head in.
