That this is giving me the rage

I’ve posted about this before but now the roof is on it’s really starting to annoy me. It’s going to be a fucking wood workshop along with all the noise & dust that goes with it 😡

Ie informed the council - who are hot to look into the planning permission aspect.

In the meantime has anyone any ideas how we can cover this up so it’s not a complete eyesore?

Ideally nothing planted as we got rid of grass & plants last year to give us a low maintenance garden. The sun is overhead most of the day so I don’t think it will block our light.

And the trampoline didn’t used to be there - it was there temporarily but we’ve left it there because I want to annoy them - I know I’m being petty 😜

Get a life for god sake. There's nothing wrong with it. Your trampoline however, is sitting in a ridiculous place.

Stannisbaratheonsboxofmatches · 09/09/2020 12:07

Bit rich considering your trampoline

I was going to say this!

When I looked at the picture before reading i thought “how did she get into the neighbour’s garden to take a photo of that antisocially placed and unsafe trampoline”!

Then I strained to see the tiny bit of roof poking about the fence.

Still, a trellis there looks a good idea to shield your neighbours from prying eyes on the trampoline!

Cheeseandlobster · 09/09/2020 12:09

Your trampoline looks right into their conservatory which is worse than a shed. And you will need to live next to these people for however long you are both there - why are you being so petty? I can't believe you called the council over this - ridiculous!

JudgeRindersMinder · 09/09/2020 12:11

Ask them if you can paint the back of it the same colour as your fences and it’ll just disappear

KarmaStar · 09/09/2020 12:11

What on earth is your problem?Hmm

kateluvscats · 09/09/2020 12:11

It's a shed, so what??!

Viviennemary · 09/09/2020 12:12

I don't think the shed itself would be contrary to planning regulations. But I can see why it annoys you jammed tight up next to your fence. Will he be running a business making things. Why do people have to be such nuisances.

Tabitha005 · 09/09/2020 12:12

I didn't understand what I was supposed to be looking at until I started reading the replies. I think you're massively overreacting.

This!

If you give them any more hassle about thier shed, expect them to come knocking every time one of your DCs looks into thier garden or house from the trampoline.

Does your trampoline have a net?

Cheesess · 09/09/2020 12:15

Yabu purely for the fact you have no plants in your garden.
Oh yeah fuck oxygen Confused

HandfulofDust · 09/09/2020 12:16

I guess the noise could be annoying but your kids bouncing on the trampoline is probably annoying to your neighbours too. I really can't see how you can be annoyed by a tiny bit of visible roof though. Your garden looks quite bare anyway in terms of foliage so the neighbour's shed really isn't out of place.

IrmaFayLear · 09/09/2020 12:18

Agree that OP’s barren garden looks far worse. And if I were the neighbour I’d have been having “the rage” for years about the bloody trampoline.

kemosabeimalone · 09/09/2020 12:19

You can buy really lovely willow hurdles and screens that would block the view of the shed out - you would probably have to attach them to the fence and stack two together to get height and stability though. Something like this www.primrose.co.uk/willow-hurdles-fencing-panel-182m-09m-6ft-3ft-papillon-p-1731.html

ProfessorPootle · 09/09/2020 12:21

Plant some plants / trellis. Permitted development allows buildings up to 3m in height without planning permission although I think they’re supposed to be 1m from the boundary (google permitted development rules). If you choose to have no plants and just an average height fence you’ll be able to see into your neighbours garden, that’s your choice.

Planesmistakenforstars · 09/09/2020 12:21

Don't plant bamboo, even in pots, it will seed and grow everywhere.

daisyjgrey · 09/09/2020 12:21

I'd put a safety net thing on that trampoline if I were you, that's a broken neck waiting to happen.

I wouldn't be arsed about the shed to be honest. And if you've got fake grass you can presumably just hoover the dust up so it's not like it'll ruin your lawn. Can I suggest you take up something like crochet?

Foxinthechickencoop · 09/09/2020 12:23

I must admit I hate the plastic grass and decking and no plants or wildlife garden. People seem to do it round here and the kids just have a plastic square to play in outside. Surely gardens are all about a bug hunt, and mud pies, and digging, and pretty flowers.

But anyway. I’m sure it will be fine. It probably won’t make that much noise, it just seems imposing because it’s new. It will soon blend in.

billy1966 · 09/09/2020 12:25

We have a large long garden and my neighbours son built a gorgeous pergola type structure......he's very talented.

It took about a week to do a couple of months ago.
Lots of cutting and sawing and wood dust flying about...even over our 10 ft hedging.

Absolutely no problem.
However, would I like that noise week in week out for a business.
No I wouldn't.
I wouldn't like the dust either.
A saw noise is loud and intrusive.

You certainly wouldn't be inclined to use your garden if both the noise and dust were up on top of you, on a regular basis.

Oh you're one of those neighbours? Did you get your garden plan from love Island too? Tacky as hell but its your garden, ruin it if you want. They can do what they want in their garden. If you wanted no views of sheds, why did you buy a house in an estate? You're an idiot. But you've given the council a laugh at least.

JulieHere · 09/09/2020 12:28

Maybe put a safety net around your trampoline and think of accident prevention - so many children end up in A&E after using trampolines.

Then ignore the shed.

BillywilliamV · 09/09/2020 12:28

Boo hoo, your neighbours have put up a shed!
