To spend nearly £200 on a tiny needle felted sculpture of my beloved dog?
Barely 10cm tall!

DH says it’s a complete waste of money and I can just hear my DM now aghast that I would spent so much money on such a thing...

Picture of an example of the artists work, (not my dog breed)

Would you?

Am I crazy..

No.

DeborahAnnabelToo · 03/09/2020 18:20

It's incredibly skilled but not to my taste personally. Like a fuzzy version of those "lifelike" china ornaments. But if you like it, fill yer boots! Presumably your own money you'd spend.

@SonEtLumiere

It's incredibly skilled but not to my taste personally.

You are such a good person, and well brought up.
Your reply also means that
You think it is hideous.

It’s your money, if money is no object then go ahead

user12642379742146 · 03/09/2020 18:27

Can you spare the money?

Will it bring you joy?

Anotherlovelybitofsquirrel · 03/09/2020 18:27

Do it! Fuck what anyone else thinks. It's your money and I think they're cute.

Aquamarine1029 · 03/09/2020 18:27

It's your money, but I could never waste that much money on something so pointless.

Borderstotheleftofme · 03/09/2020 18:27

Ooh the responses!
😯
I bloody love it and can’t wait for it to have pride of place on my shelf so there!

I wouldn't myself but I am always spending my money on what my DH calls tat Shock (Not the the Facebook tat you see on here at Christmas, more like "went into home and bargain for shower gel and came out with 5 bags Confused).

Zakana · 03/09/2020 18:42

Do it! I love all dogs and if I had the money available, I would have one of each of my five dogs, and then my dearly departed dogs as well.....think my DP would be aghast but I wouldn’t tell him until it was too late!

You have to post a picture on here once you get it!

TheGreatWave · 03/09/2020 18:42

You're crazy, but you and your fellow kind make the world a happier place, so go for it.

Polnm · 03/09/2020 18:44

I saw them in the daily mail, they are amazing. Long waiting list. You may have import duty from the USA as well

imissthesouth · 03/09/2020 18:44

I'd get it, i love it! DH would laugh me out the house though. Although when my dog goes i want something to remember her by.

Marshmallow07 · 03/09/2020 18:47

It's not a waste of money if you can afford it and it brings you joy.

YesItsMeIDontCare · 03/09/2020 18:49

I spent a similar amount on a Cuddle Clone of my old cat. Almost life size and might be another option?

If it is small taxidermy, if larger a nice furry hat or pair of gloves?
TheClawww · 03/09/2020 18:51

Is it made out of the dogs fur?

8 months!! 😭

This artist is New Zealand based.

Me too!
Apparently she can put a heart in felted out of the dogs fur too, though I’m not sure how much it would be to post the hair to New Zealand 🤔

If you can afford it and jt makes you happy, then it absolutely is worth it

Borderstotheleftofme · 03/09/2020 18:52

Is it made out of the dogs fur?
No, it’s felted from sheep wool but you can have a heart felted from the dog’s hair and put it as an extra

Look, there is no replacement for a dog you loved. Once a dog is dead, it's gone.

If I could replace my Bella believe me, I would. But I cannot.

So now we have a puppy , who is a lot of work, and is a different breed from Bella.

We have put our grieve into training our Daisy. Making her into a girl that is a dog to be proud of.

She will never, ever be Bella. But she will, hopefully, be the best Daisy she could be. And we love her

JulieHere · 03/09/2020 18:55

It looks naff but each to their own. If you want to spend (waste) £200 on that go ahead. Personally I agree with your DH and DM.

Pretenditsaplan · 03/09/2020 18:57

All i could think is wow thats going to be a bugger to keep dust free
