Unfortunate name choice

A friend of a friend has just had a baby and called her Summer Eve.
Summers eve is a brand of feminine hygiene products in the US. Akin to someone in the US calling their child vagisil.
I have spent a lot of time in the states so it may not be something that many people in the U.K. know about. I messaged my friend to say oh my goodness I can’t believe the name they’ve chosen for the baby. Now my friend is (jokingly) pissed off that I’ve told her as she’ll not be able to think of anything else.
But I also have friends in the US who have friends/family members called Randy. Again completely different connotations in the U.K.

Not an AIBU but it has amused me

@Rose789. Nobody seems to think ahead to the child's school days, most children just want to "fit in" and be normal. Being saddled with an usual name is the not the best start. These odd names are for the parents vanity and no thought is given to the years ahead. Place names, fruit names? just why, when there are so many names to choose from?

Typo, sorry "unusual name"

I knew an American couple called Randy and Gay.

I know an American called Bogie Grin
If Peter Cushing (actor) married Whoopi Goldberg she'd be called Whoopi Cushing!

As an American living in the UK, I concur that is a very unfortunate name. It is a major brand, not something obscure or region-based. For the people saying surely no one would make the connection if they ever interacted with someone from that country - yes, yes they absolutely will.

I used to know a Gay Farquhar.
