I was reading a list of confirmed true conspiracy theories recently, though I can't find it right now. They mainly involved government and medical testing being carried out under unethical circumstances, such as drugs being tested on prisoners or homeless people (and often on black people) without their full or in some cases any consent.
The moon landings were obviously not faked if you have even basic scientific knowledge, particularly about radio waves. Many people around the globe picked up or were responsible for passing on radio signals, they would all have to agree to lie and continue to keep a massive lie secret for decades after. The Soviets would certainly know if the landing had been faked or not as they were monitoring radio transmissions, and it's just completely counter-intuitive for them to agree to participate in a hoax pretending that their enemy won the space race.
That stuff about Prince William and Rose Hambury is just horrible gossip
Maybe. By all accounts it's a rumour that was doing the rounds of the aristo set long before it leaked online, and loads of celebs and journalists and other artistos have claimed it's an open secret. The royal reporter Tom Sykes who's from an aristo family himself (descended from the Duke of Bedford, and his grandad or something was best friends with the King) recently claimed the granddaughter of an earl told him about the affair, and he also said he never comments on rumours unless he's had them confirmed to him personally by three separate reliable sources. He also hates Meghan Markle and loves the Queen and the institution of monarchy so he doesn't have any agenda there. There's also the fact there's a court order barring the UK press from covering it, and William's massive over-reaction to the original story which didn't even mention an affair. It's weird to start threatening the press and claiming your human rights have been breached over an innocuous little story about your wife falling out with a neighbour, unless you have something to hide and know the press is hinting.
what's the Meghan Markle conspiracy?
There's loads. That she faked her pregnancy and Archie is either a hired baby actor or that she had a baby trafficked so she could pretend to have Harry's child. That the Queen arranged for a fake vicar to conduct the wedding so their marriage isn't legally binding. Last year there was a conspiracy theory that the Queen had replaced Meghan with a lookalike to hide the fact the real Meghan was in prison for treason. One minor theory that didn't get much traction that her dad actually adopted her and her real dad is a Rothschild, and that's why the Queen and RF are so scared of her and let her infiltrate them. And loads of stuff about her controlling Harry and trying to destroy the monarchy or even that she's trying to become Queen herself. That Meghan is a former prostitute, that she's got a secret sex tape, and that Meghan's mum is an ex-con and that the RF had California prison records destroyed.
The one theory which I wouldn't call a conspiracy theory because it's self evident is that the press and likely the RF themselves use Meghan as a scapegoat to avoid too much negative press coverage of Prince Andrew or other royal scandals.
This isn't exactly a conspiracy theory but I believe in cryptids, creatures that are either believed to be extinct or that are as yet discovered by science. There are so many species that have either been discovered or were discovered alive after being believed extinct. There are certainly many undiscovered species living in the deep ocean or on uninhabited islands or deep in the jungle, and it's possible some of them are currently mythic or cryptid. For example sea monster myths appear all over the world and in all sea-going cultures; they might refer to giant squid or whales, but they might refer to creatures not yet discovered.
