AIBU to wonder what conspiracy theories you think may hold some weight?

Generally speaking I hate conspiracy theories, but is there anything out there that’s passed off as a conspiracy theory that you think holds some weight? I personally have some questions about the assassination of JFK.

Totally agree about Dr Kelly.

The moon landings obviously definitely happened and anyone who thinks otherwise is firmly woo.

My dad was the last person to give conspiracy theories houseroom, but he was one of those who thought the CIA killed Marilyn Monroe and I'm not sure he was wrong.

Not a conspiracy theory but I'm not at all sure that Michael Stone killed Lin and Megan Russell.

Most conspiracy theories are just untold truths. Eventually they are uncovered. Some are just imagination gone wrong with a bit of truth to start them off. Be wary of anyone that can't back it up with a bit of science to explain their belief. Many can no longer tell the difference between a clearly photoshopped fb post and a real article now.

So glad I'm not the only one. It was one of the first things that made me query what we were being told.

Abdelbaset al-Megrahi being fitted up for the Pan-Am bombing, so the US & UK could resume relations and trade with Gaddafi. There are reasons why successive UK governments have fought tooth and nail to deny his various appeals at every stage despite there being no logical reason for them to do so. The entire aftermath of that event is mired in cover-up and obfuscation. Gaddafi never paid a single penny of the agreed compensation because he knew damned fine he could bring the whole thing down like a pack of cards any time he liked. Even the relatives of the victims are campaigning for al-Megrahi to be pardoned and a public enquiry into the scandalous way in which all established protocal, procedure, and law was ignored.

Loving that I’m not the only one with some questions here and there. I generally think conspiracy theorists are people with uneventful lives who like to fantasise but occasionally they prove useful for those who may have something they want hidden in plain sight.. David Kelly, Jeffrey Epstein, Marilyn Monroe and maybe Princess Diana. I’m not convinced 9/11 was an inside job or whatever but there is a lot more that goes on out there and we’re expected to swallow the official story then move on... I think I’ve watched too many political/legal tv shows & movies.. dam lockdown 😂

Certain Prominent members of the provisional IRA being British agents. Absolute truth in some of the names often mentioned and I suspect a lot will come out upon their deaths.

I think Megan Markle was fed to the dogs to stop the media revealing prince Williams affair with Rose Hambury. Distraction. Royal family let her be destroyed to save face. His affair hit every other nations front pages but ours. Very odd.

I think there is a lot the general public don't know about how the world is actually run, but that's not really a conspiracy.

I 100% believe with my chest out that Jeffrey Epstein was either murdered or given the means to kill himself. Less likely he is on an island in the pacific, imho

He was urging Saddam to come clean and open up to the UN regarding inspections looking for Iraq's supposed stock of chemical and biological weapons. Bush and Blair were absolutely adamant these existed, and it was a core part of their justification for the invasion of Iraq. Kelly apparently succeeded in his dialogue with Saddam, as very late in the day he permitted UN inspections which found precisely nothing. The invasion went ahead anyway, Blair sold Kelly up the river completely, Kelly was later found dead, ruled a suicide, despite having shown no prior signs of illness, unhappiness, or any intention to end his life, and having died by means that cast severe doubt over the verdict. He is supposed to have sat down by a tree and cut his own arteries open with a blunt penknife.

Yes! We have family in Italy and France and they were incredibly surprised how hushed-up it had been here.

Not sure if this counts, but Sandra Bland's death. Same with Bernard Mongan. Both of them were murdered.

Babs709 I've heard a few people say they didn't think he'd died by suicide, I think there are some questionable deaths reported as suicides, but less wide conspiracy theories of institutional murder and more individuals able to make it look like a death by suicide & getting away with it.

I agree that there is enough messed up stuff to go digging for more- the declassified US reports from just before Hiroshima and Nagasaki, just awful.

Every January, there is a pic that goes around about the US government was successfully sued by MLK Jr's widow about his death. Looking into it, from what I've read, it seems like they likely knew there was threat and either chose not to act on it or actively withdrew, but it's not the 'the government killed MLK Jr' that most people get into. I think there could be a lot of things like that - things where governments had intelligence, but didn't prevent horrors committed by individuals/other groups for their own reasons and used it to their own advantages. Or knew certain groups were powderkegs, and used a few people to set them off for their own advantages (they have caught police inciting people during some riots).

Those takes a lot less people than some of the complex concepts I've read from conspiracy theorists.

I'm not generally a fan of conspiracy theories. I don't believe there is anything deceitful about the accepted version of events in either 9/11 attacks, Diana's death, the Moon Landings, Covid, Megan Markle, and the vast majority of other events that are often theorised about.

The incident at the top of this post, the Pan-Am bombing farce, Dr David Kelly's death, possibly Jeffrey Epstein, although I think that was an 'assisted suicide' rather than a straightforward murder to order, and possibly that Lee Harvey Oswald was not the only person to shoot at and wound JFK. Jack Ruby did not act out of anger either.

They also found millions of other intact items from the remains of both the planes and the contents of the buildings. Why would finding the passports of people who were very definitely on board those flights be all that unfathomable? Are you also one of the people who claims a missile and not a plane hit the Pentagon, based on nothing other than the shape of the hole it made, and completely discounting the eye witness testimony of the hundreds of unconnected and independent witnesses who actually watched a plane fly into it?
