Generally speaking I hate conspiracy theories, but is there anything out there that’s passed off as a conspiracy theory that you think holds some weight? I personally have some questions about the assassination of JFK.

9/11 makes sense when you think about what happened 60 years earlier.

LadyGAgain · 27/08/2020 23:45

@Janus - what's the Meghan Markle conspiracy?

WanderingWordsearch · 27/08/2020 23:45

@PhilSwagielka

I agree about Bernie. It's all so odd and nothing adds up in the slightest. Unfortunately I can't see them being transparent either

Wagsandclaws · 27/08/2020 23:45

The Podesta emails are coded, probably not anything to do with children or child trafficking but it'd be interesting to decipher them.

I think Diana's accident was orchestrated from within the arms dealing industry due to her campaigning against land mines.
I actually think Mi6 found out/knew about the plot but were unfortunately too late to stop it

Pissed up and drugged up driver + excessive speed.

If people wanted her dead, then they chose a completely idiotic and half-arsed way to go about achieving it, since she was still alive when emergency services got to her and could have conceivably walked away without a scratch. People who want to kill people don't orchestrate random car accidents. It's far too uncertain and haphazard.

I believe he was in Greece as it was his fathers 80th birthday and he was there but I do admit to following twitter way too much 😂. To be fair, I don’t know why he wouldn’t just say he was there other than he’s very much been promoting ‘stay at home, spend your money here’ etc.

Janus · 27/08/2020 23:47

Meghan Markle, as explained further down the post, I won’t repeat as it tends to get threads removed!

Bravefarts · 27/08/2020 23:48

I don't believe any of the covid ones.

I'd love to believe someone eat in charge, conspiring. Instead, I think most couldn't organise a piss up in a brewery.

WanderingWordsearch · 27/08/2020 23:48

It wouldn't surprise me if UA93 was shot down and didn't crash

LadyGAgain · 27/08/2020 23:49

Hmmmm the only reference I recall was about being fed to dogs and I didn't understand it!

longtompot · 27/08/2020 23:56

@XDownwiththissortofthingX

the presence of explosives in the building

Pardon?

Shortly before the buildings collapsed, there were explosions on the corners so they fell straight down. Apparently, these explosives were put in when the buildings were built. I think the conspiracy is down to the way the buildings collapsed. This is not my belief, I hasten to add! Just something my dh has read and thinks due to other theories, has legs.

But what on earth would Serbia have to do with it?

She had been actively and very visibly campaigning for aid to the people Milosevic was persecuting at the time that NATO decided to launch an air-strike on Belgrade TV HQ, killing a load of Serb TV personalities and destroying Milosevic's primary means to deliver propaganda

It was mostly the UK agitating for it, and since Dando was a prominent UK TV personality seen to be actively working against Serb interests, she was an obvious target for an act of reprisal. It may seem odd and pointless, but you need to get into the mindset of Eastern Bloc dictators and former Soviet satellite state security to understand it. Their minds work differently, their outlook is entirely different to that of their Western 'foes', their doctrines and methodology is different.

Look at what Russia did to the Skripals. The fact the Skripals lived is irrelevant. In reality that wasn't even the primary goal of the operation. Everybody knows it was ordered and carried out by the Kremlin, everybody knows it was dirty, illegal, caused utter mayhem, and looked like the act of a rogue state. THAT was entirely the point. It's a massive "We know you know, and we don't care" from the Kremlin to send a message to people that this is how they will deal with people who fall foul of them, to hell with the consequences, and to hell with how it reflects on them. They simply don't care about 'appearances' in the way that most 'civilised' nations wanting to be considered part of a global fraternity do. Tito, and as a consequence, his successors in the Yugoslav Communist Party were much the same.

TheMistressQuickly · 27/08/2020 23:57

I’m convinced bin laden is still alive

Epstein was murdered. So was Marilyn Monroe. On a presidents order!

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 28/08/2020 00:02

@Mimishimi Pearl Harbour?
As in the sense it was known it may happen or was going to happen but was all very last minute & the US Government were caught on the hop as it the aftermath was far worse than anyone managed.
Or maybe they (US Gov/CIA) wanted to get as much evidence as they could but unfortunately let the plot go further than it should have with unfortunately horrific consequences.

likestodraw · 28/08/2020 00:07

The smoking man shot JFK obvs ;-)

Mimishimi · 28/08/2020 00:13

No, the attempted extermination of an entire race/religion of people.

Totickleamockingbird · 28/08/2020 00:16

9/11, David Kelly, Jeffery Epstein, Markle and Diana.
I think 9/11 was a huge excuse for the US and allies (including Saudis) to get a much stronger foothold in Afghanistan and Mid East.

Sunpinesmile · 28/08/2020 00:17

I’m going to have to look some of these up, or project paperclip etc! Mandela effect??

David Kelly obviously didn’t kill himself, imo.
The other things... don’t seem so questionable.

Stripesgalore · 28/08/2020 00:18

Nazi treasure train in underground tunnel in Poland.

Possible.

XDownwiththissortofthingX · 28/08/2020 00:20

I think your DH needs to lay off the 'truther' sites tbh Grin

sycamorecottage · 28/08/2020 00:25

@emptyplinth

Like cardibach says... They'd rely on large numbers of highly competent people working in close co-ordination and complete secrecy. If you know people who can do this, then I'd love to know where you work.
^ Yep.

For instance, if the moon landings were genuinely a complete set-up and didn't happen, why aren't there any conspiracy theories about it saying that actually it really did?

africanantelope · 28/08/2020 00:26

Most of them

Stripesgalore · 28/08/2020 00:27

Operation paperclip, MK Ultra and the syphilis experiments do feed into bigger conspiracy theories.

It’s how people end up believing them. Tell people some outrageous truths and they will also believe outrageous lies.

XDownwiththissortofthingX · 28/08/2020 00:29

I think 9/11 was a huge excuse for the US and allies (including Saudis) to get a much stronger foothold in Afghanistan and Mid East

It undoubtedly helped lay the ground for military misadventures in both Afghanistan and Iraq, but I don't think it was in any way orchestrated or set up by the US as an inside job to manufacture a casus belli

The US intelligence and security services were caught with their pants down due to an enormously vulnerable internal commercial aviation industry. This was exploited, with relative success for once, by enemy conspirators who were usually more adept at killing themselves that actually harming any of their targets. Remember, the car park under the WTC had been blown up previously, Oklahoma Federal Building flattened by McVeigh, it's not as if the US had proven itself invulnerable to rudimentary and amateurish terrorist attack. Al Qaeda had been blowing up embassies and such across the globe for years. It's not like they came out of nowhere.

Legoandloldolls · 28/08/2020 00:35

I'm not one for conspiracy theories but I agree it's never good to take everything at face value.

What was the man who was found in a bag zipped up in his bath? Seems a weird suicide method to me.
