Generally speaking I hate conspiracy theories, but is there anything out there that’s passed off as a conspiracy theory that you think holds some weight? I personally have some questions about the assassination of JFK.

My point is that if the royals wanted to off Princess Diana that much, they could have found a less convoluted way to do it. They have the money and the connections.

I'm with Mitchell and Webb.

FarTooSkinny · 29/08/2020 11:32

9/11 conspiracy theorists really are the thickest of the bunch. Despite the mechanism for the collapse of the towers being well understood, there being pictures of the plane hitting the Pentagon and all the data and voice recording from the flights being released they still come up with rubbish about explosives/missiles/planes being shot down/high level government conspiracy.

I suppose it is useful for identifying idiots

PhilSwagielka · 29/08/2020 11:48

The ones who think it was a Jewish conspiracy are the absolute worst.

DioneTheDiabolist · 29/08/2020 11:51

CV19 was made and released by a shady group of international perspex manufacturers.🤫

I believe the wrong person was convicted for the Lockerbie bombing. As an aside I've seen the memorial to the victims at Lockerbie cemetary and something that made me feel really sad was the Pan Am plaque. It lists the crew in the order of job importance - pilot, first officer etc all the way through to the junior air steward, as if somehow her life was less important than the pilot's and similarly, that his loss of life was more than the others. It really resonated how important rank was to Pan Am.

The rest of the memorial is very touching.

@Hingeandbracket - Plea deal. I agree shes a however watch this space. She was an enabler. She will get a lesser sentence if she coughs fully on who was there and when and I suspect she will have evidence. Her remand period is excessively long. For a reason.

@monstermunchforlunch

I’ve said it before but I don’t believe Peaches Geldof overdosed. I don’t think she’d do it with her child in the house and the day after(?) her house was burgled and nothing came of it... I think she was investigating, however loosely, the same lines that Jill Dando (another conspiracy) was following and her death was staged.
REally? What lines were those?

No, it was actually a top secret consortium of Perspex manufacturers, Zoom executives, JustEat shareholders, and producers of old sitcoms that didn’t get repeated on TV enough.

Everything I've seen says it was banned because of levels of accidental overdose

But cocodamol is still on the market (I take it daily - not the OTC version) after my incident with the monster my GP swapped me to cocodamol, it has the same amount of codeine and paracetamol but a different binding agent, it was the binding agent that apparently caused the problem.

But what matters to me is that he should not have been taking it. Where did it come from and why did no one say, hang on, he was taking what?

OhTheRoses · 29/08/2020 13:30

@sashh that's interesting I was prescribed copraxamol twice and both times it made me feel very dizzy, sickly and faint. I didn't get much pain relief from cocodamol but golly I was shocked when I came off it after 2/3 weeks and the extent of tummy upset. Interesting they are the same with a different binding agent.

Interesting thread! I do think the following might be true:
JFK, Bobby Kennedy and Marilyn Monroe murdered possibly on orders of CIA. The former were against nuclear war/gun crime which is big $$. The latter was unravelling fast and conducting affairs with both Kennedy brothers and allegedly Mafia.
Jeffrey Epstein - think it was murder, not suicide and Ghislaine is in serious danger of the same.
Natalie Wood - drowned, but I think her ex let her drown. I'm sure I read they'd had a huge fight and wonder if he pushed her in or ignored her if she fell in the water?
I believe Stephanie was driving too fast, too inexperienced - and underage - which led to the fatal accident. Princess Grace was known to suffer from migraines and terrible eyesight. They were in a hurry to catch a train. I think Stephanie drove.
Just my musings!

sashh · 29/08/2020 14:27

@Butterer

Thank you for that.

I think I must be mixing the dates up because my dad was moved off coprox by the GP, the GP must have been ahead of the curve. I assumed he'd been moved onto other meds due to the ban but maybe not. Link below shows it's links to suicide was well known years before the ban.

Apparently the coprox was prescribed for Mrs Kelly - p96

This is a sort of hoping one, the one about Michael Jacksons real speaking voice being much deeper. id love to hear it if its true.

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 29/08/2020 14:52

The 9/11 conspiracy theory is just nuts.
Like pps have said there are so many reports & evidence that does prove that 9/11 was a terrorist attack on the WTC & it caused the Twin Towers to collapse.

The only cover up (more likely cock up) I can think that realistically happened was that the CIA/Security Services missed/ignored vital bits of intel.
A bit like when we find out that certain UK suicide bombers have been on the Mi5/6 watch list but due to the sheer amount of 'people of interest' & the Security services not having enough staff/time/money to investigate everything to the nth degree so unfortunately some things get downgraded or not considered a threat or sometimes just missed.

EDSGFC · 29/08/2020 15:12

I think some of these conspiracy theories have a semblance of truth, certainly we aren't told the true facts about an event and that enables conspiracy theories to take hold.

9/11 for example. I don't believe the theories that it was performed by the US but I do believe that corners were cut in the construction of the towers which contributed to the collapse and that hasn't been openly acknowledged.

Similarly with the death of Princess Diana - I don't believe the Royal Family were involved but I suspect that more is known than the public has been told.

AlternativePerspective · 29/08/2020 15:26

I’m surprised no-one has yet suggested that Prince Harry was actually James Hewit’s child....

Amazes me though that people come out and say “x definitely happened this way,”. Of course there’s no way of knowing what happened for definite, otherwise it wouldn’t be a theory

E.g. I think there is definitely something re a certain missing case which has been ongoing for years, where every few years a “significant” lead comes up and nothing ever actually comes of it, and people closer to the situation were IMO definitely involved. But of course I can’t know that for certain because there are others who say that that definitely isn’t the case... iyswim.

The Harry Hewitt myth was dealt a fatal blow by the Paris Match photo of Prince Philip in the 1950’s. Harry looks just like him.

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 29/08/2020 15:52

Plus Diana & Hewitt didn't get together until way after Harry was born.
I've heard of Immaculate Conception, but Retrograde Conception come on.

Prince Harry also looks very like Prince Charles in some pictures.
DolphinsAndNemesis · 29/08/2020 16:19

I read something recently that said in most cases we shouldn't even use the term "conspiracy theory." The argument was that the word "theory" legitimises what are essentially baseless speculations and wild conjecture. I thought it was an interesting point (though I suppose most people use the word in a more casual and colloquial sense). There is certainly nothing that rises to the level of scientific or academic theory in such dangerous nonsense as Pizzagate and the like.

mrsBtheparker · 29/08/2020 16:25

Had the establishment wanted to 'do away' with Diana they would have selected a far more discreet method, a road crash isn't necessarily the most efficient way.
Ulricke Meinoff, the German terrorist who died in prison in the 70s was very suspicious, not that many shed a tear for her.

Philip with a beard and Harry with a beard could have been twins.
