Okay, so, I 'know' Covid is real and I never listened to the Covid conspiracies or any others for that matter.
But...
I live in one of the reportedly worst hit areas.
I developed a health condition and I've been in and out of hospital for about 3 weeks for something, let's say a serious leg problem. The hospital doctors saw me immediately the blood tests returned, I've had numerous tests across several departments and they keep calling me in for more. The other day, one doctor called to ask me how I was feeling, I mentioned some pain somewhere, they told me to come in to check it out. I left a few hours later with advice for painkillers. I've gone in so many times now.
Meanwhile, in the hospital, the nurses and doctors are very available, tests booked no problem, no sense of urgency, hospital staff chatting leisurely. The very senior doctor decided to take my blood himself one time, no mask, no gloves. Then I come home and hear the news of how hospitals are struggling or I read from MN how people's appointments are being cancelled. The hospital has all the hand gels and masks, social distancing and everything else, but you would never know there was a pandemic.
Also, I work in a public sector organization where most staff have a caseload of clients, up to about 200 each, many with long-term health problems. We are in touch with them by phone and no one in my office has lost any clients to Covid. We've lost 1 person to suicide due to previous MH problems.
Surely, there is Covid out there. I just haven't seen it in this area, despite being one of the worst hit areas. I don't get it really.
