Generally speaking I hate conspiracy theories, but is there anything out there that’s passed off as a conspiracy theory that you think holds some weight? I personally have some questions about the assassination of JFK.

If they wanted to kill Princess Di they could have just got someone to stick a bomb under the car. Much more efficient than what really happened.

Re Ian Huntley, what exactly did go down with him and the two girls? Are you implying they were trying to hit him up for money or something?

StuntEgg · 28/08/2020 18:29

I will never believe Diana’s death was an accident. The mother of the future king in a relationship with a Muslim? The Act of Succesion that forbade senior royalty marrying a Catholic was only amended in 2013. No trace of the car that hit them?

I can't believe we have got to page 11 without anyone posting this:

@Stripesgalore what makes me physically sick is that the govt are not telling over 12's to wear masks in school inc. lessons as per WHO guidance. It's like giving armour to the rest of the army but there's nothing left for teachers or they just don't give a shit, which is likely the case.

Excellent website, which debunks a lot of conspiracy theories.

Isitsixoclockalready · 28/08/2020 18:37

@Heatherjayne1972 totally agree. It’s quite funny how people are so ready to attribute conspiracy theories to governments that are so incompetent in so many ways.

Stripesgalore · 28/08/2020 18:38

‘It's like giving armour to the rest of the army but there's nothing left for teachers or they just don't give a shit, which is likely the case.’

Most workers and the public had no masks during lockdown. The government did not care. It’s just a numbers game.

I reported the post about Ian Huntley and the girls that you are referring to and it got deleted. That kind of speculation is pretty grim, especially as that poster then went on to demonstrate that they weren't actually that knowledgeable about the case.

roseyroserose · 28/08/2020 19:39

@Aragog

Surly if the RF really wanted someone dead they would choose a much cleaner, more reliable and less public way to do it, and one where they wouldn't come off so bad after it happening.

Do people really think the RF wouldn't have better and more effective methods available to them, but which still would look like an accident?

If she had worn a seatbelt then she would most probably have survived the accident. The only person wearing a belt did survive.

The only person to survive won't talk about what happened. He has been silenced. Also all the photographers at the scene had their homes broken onto within 72 hours of the 'accident'. Lots of evidence was destroyed.

I thought they were trying to imply that Huntley was stitched up and it was someone else who did it. I've never heard of any conspiracy with regards to this case.

@taraRoo

I think Megan Markle was fed to the dogs to stop the media revealing prince Williams affair with Rose Hambury. Distraction. Royal family let her be destroyed to save face. His affair hit every other nations front pages but ours. Very odd.
This is literally the first I've heard of an affair Shock
WhoWouldHaveThoughtThat · 28/08/2020 19:48

Does people really believe it these conspiracy theories?

I think that they are created by the Illuminati to distract us from UFOs, the Lizard People, Atlantis (which is due to re-surface any day now) Mayans, Aztecs, Cadbury's Boosts, Minoans, Eric von Daniken, Ancient Giants, Ant and Dec, Hollow Earth etc.

Well you won't get me believing in that superstitious nonsense - touch wood.

WhoWouldHaveThoughtThat · 28/08/2020 19:49

Obviously not 'Does' but 'Do'

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 28/08/2020 19:51

There’s no way that baby Archie is not biologically related to Meghan. He’s the absolute spit out of her mouth.

Qasd · 28/08/2020 19:52

Def Dianna!

boltzmannbrains · 28/08/2020 19:56

I want to know the conspiracy theory around Cadbury’s Boosts! Grin

9/11 for me.

I read somewhere that things like Tuskegee being covered up are why conspiracy theories are popular in some black communities in the USA.

Didn't the CIA try all sorts of weird ways of knocking Castro off? I've got this hilarious book called The Book of Heroic Failures and one thing it mentions is the CIA's many failed attempts to kill Castro. A poisoned chocolate milkshake was left in a freezer by mistake and became undrinkable; three men got arrested while carrying a bazooka around in attempt to shoot him; some explosive seashells missed Castro by 40 minutes and ended up blowing traffic lights in Havana instead; some poison pellets were hidden in a pot of cold cream and dissolved; some other poison pellets were aimed at Castro but got some trees instead; and a woman sent to kill Castro fell in love with him. Nature had the last laugh.

@AGnu

I read a theory on Twitter the other day. Basically, someone's suggesting that Melania is a Russian agent & Putin is controlling Trump through her. Allegedly, the KGB were known to recruit attractive women as agents to use as honey traps.

If nothing else, it would make a good book! A beautiful, young model gets promised a rich, American husband & all she has to do in return is pretend to like him & report back to her handler or attempt to steer him in the "right" direction. Perhaps she'd see that as a good opportunity to set herself up financially & she could divorce him once she/her family would be allowed to stay in the US. Unfortunately, she's still useful to her handlers so she's threatened to stick to the deal. She thinks he won't stand a chance at achieving what they want him to so agrees to go along with it. She fully expects it to all fall through & she can make her escape in the aftermath but he's elected president & she's trapped. All she wants is to live a quiet, insanely wealthy, life with her son but instead she's trapped in her marriage until her handlers decide he's no longer useful. Of course, once he's out of the picture she also loses her purpose & who can be sure she'll really keep quiet...

I'm going to start writing it straight away - it's a great story! Grin

@AGnu I'd read it so get writing now

That the wreck of the Titanic is not actually the Titanic. It's her sister ship the Olympic, which was damaged beyond economical repair in a collision with HMS Hawke. She was secretly switched with and disguised as Titanic, sailed what was purportedly Titanic's maiden voyage, and was deliberately sunk for the insurance.

So, where is the actual titanic? Or have I misunderstood and the theory is that there is no actual titanic?

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 28/08/2020 20:11

The actual Titanic would have been rebadged as the Olympic. They were almost identical and the Olympic was apparently refitted in 1913 after the Titanic sank which made their interiors even more similar.

Quietlyloud · 28/08/2020 20:12

What’s this about Huntley? I’ve been all over the other theorises posted on here many times, I don’t believe them but I can’t help but read all about them, the Huntley one is new to me. The person who mentioned sending a pm, send me one please.

WhoWouldHaveThoughtThat · 28/08/2020 20:15

@boltzmannbrains

Ah, I think I may have said too much already.

Read the wrapper using Black Light...

(you didn't hear this from me. O. K?)

boltzmannbrains · 28/08/2020 20:15

The theory is the boats were switched, so the real/original Titanic continued to sail under the name Olympic. The Olympic sailed for decades, was a Naval ship during WWI, and was finally retired in 1935. So the theory is that was really the Titanic all along.

The theory really doesn’t hold water (no pun intended); Titanic wasn’t insured for very much and not enough to cover the loss of the Olympic, and lots of small details show it was the Titanic that sunk and the Olympic that continued to sail.
