Generally speaking I hate conspiracy theories, but is there anything out there that’s passed off as a conspiracy theory that you think holds some weight? I personally have some questions about the assassination of JFK.

There was a meme once on Facebook of different famous people all smiling and laughing ; '
This is what depression looks like' it said. One or two had taken their own lives.
Nobody knows what goes on behind closed doors.
I believe there are lots of things going on we know nothing about or covered up but who really knows?

AlternativePerspective · 28/08/2020 16:53

I think people want to believe that Diana was murdered because at the time the press were so hung up on her and the relationship with Dodi was so in the spotlight. So when they died together people speculated that the RF disapproved and had her bumped off. I don’t believe she was murdered, a car accident is just far too inefficient a way to murder someone.

I don’t believe that Jill Dando was a professional hit either. She wasn’t that big a deal. She wasn’t an investigative journalist, and there were plenty of other people who knew about Jimmy Saville and could potentially have spoken out who weren’t murdered. I actually think it’s far more likely that the person convicted killed her. He had been stalking her after all, was a nasty piece of work with previous convictions for stalking/sexual harassment/assault.

Is anyone else able to read this thread from the beginning? I’ve been trying to go to page one all day but page four seems as far back as I can go?

Stripesgalore · 28/08/2020 16:56

Did he have previous convictions? He had a very low IQ and was not found guilty on appeal.

Aragog · 28/08/2020 16:59

Surly if the RF really wanted someone dead they would choose a much cleaner, more reliable and less public way to do it, and one where they wouldn't come off so bad after it happening.

Do people really think the RF wouldn't have better and more effective methods available to them, but which still would look like an accident?

If she had worn a seatbelt then she would most probably have survived the accident. The only person wearing a belt did survive.

@boltzmannbrains

I have doubts about the moon landing as it could have been staged since the US would want to beat Russia to have a successful mission.

Russia would need to be complicit though. Why would they do that?

And who left the mirrors on the moon (that are still used for experiments) if not the Apollo astronauts?

There is a theory that the government performs illegal lobotomies on people and studies the impact. They have found that once a certain percentage of the brain is removed then is an increased chance of believing in conspiracy theories

AGnu · 28/08/2020 17:12

I read a theory on Twitter the other day. Basically, someone's suggesting that Melania is a Russian agent & Putin is controlling Trump through her. Allegedly, the KGB were known to recruit attractive women as agents to use as honey traps.

If nothing else, it would make a good book! A beautiful, young model gets promised a rich, American husband & all she has to do in return is pretend to like him & report back to her handler or attempt to steer him in the "right" direction. Perhaps she'd see that as a good opportunity to set herself up financially & she could divorce him once she/her family would be allowed to stay in the US. Unfortunately, she's still useful to her handlers so she's threatened to stick to the deal. She thinks he won't stand a chance at achieving what they want him to so agrees to go along with it. She fully expects it to all fall through & she can make her escape in the aftermath but he's elected president & she's trapped. All she wants is to live a quiet, insanely wealthy, life with her son but instead she's trapped in her marriage until her handlers decide he's no longer useful. Of course, once he's out of the picture she also loses her purpose & who can be sure she'll really keep quiet...

I'm going to start writing it straight away - it's a great story! Grin

@Pieceofpurplesky

I didn't think anything of the Hitler/Argentina theories until seeing Villa Winter in Fuerteventura and hearing all about the submarines etc
I just googled that.

How intriguing! Maybe that's the reason that the South of Fuerteventura is more popular with German tourists.

I suspect that often we give governments much more credit than we should
To suggest that numerous people and government offices could keep a huge Conspiracy secret like 9/11 or the moon landings is silly
We all know governments are generally incompetent

However it wouldn’t surprise me if they ‘took advantage’ of a crisis for their own selfish ends
All governments listen to each other , monitor phone texts and emails from their populations and monitor terrorist chatter
So they do know more than they tell us

paintedsmile77 · 28/08/2020 17:35

I think most Hollywood stars have handlers, and the reason do many seem to die suddenly and mysteriously is when it looks like they're starting to unravel.

@stripesgalore yes, several. Sexual assault, attempted rape, several sexual assault charges which didn’t go to court. He served part of a sentence for an attempted rape and had another suspended sentence for a sexual assault.

All in all he was a nasty piece of work, and IMO the fact he was quite so delusional makes me think he may well have been capable of murder.

AP, that does sound the most plausible explanation then.

JanMeyer · 28/08/2020 17:56

They are better placed to judge Whether he was suicidal or not than a bunch of internet randomers.

Did you even read my post? Yes, i know who he was. My point was that the people in his life aren't necessarily the best placed to judge if he was suicidal or not. People mask their feelings and reveal nothing to those around them, it's not uncommon when a person commits suicide. But you seem fixed on the idea that his friends and family would "know he wasn't suicidal."
When that proves not to be the case a lot when it comes to suicide.

That the govt are willing to put teachers on the front line and loose a few to CV19 to rescue the economy.

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 28/08/2020 18:04

A significant amount of wealth was smuggled out of Europe after the war. A relative worked at a European airport and recalls at lease one plane with boxes of gold so heavy he couldn’t lift them on his own. This would have been mid to late 40’s.

Stripesgalore · 28/08/2020 18:08

‘My point was that the people in his life aren't necessarily the best placed to judge if he was suicidal or not.‘

Who are you suggesting would be better placed to judge?

The point is that in this case he had been discussing his feelings with his family and friends, and they were aware of the enormous pressure he was under. He wasn’t a person claiming all was fine, happy and smiling.

Stripesgalore · 28/08/2020 18:11

‘That the govt are willing to put teachers on the front line and loose a few to CV19 to rescue the economy.’

That isn’t a secret conspiracy. Many people are at work in public facing roles and some will die. Everyone knows that and have done since lockdown began.
