He is yes. He called me earlier to tell me, did he not call you?

SabrinaThwaite · 25/08/2020 22:28

Oh Hate, your support for Johnson likely skipping out when the shit truly hits the fan speaks volumes.

And yes, when a Party Leader is voted in to serve a 4 year term I fully expect them to do just that, not fuck off when he thinks it’s job done and he can trouser a shed load of cash from his dodgy backers.

lljkk · 25/08/2020 22:29

I'm addicted to political gossip but this really is very poor source. Mary Wakefield's dad? Come on. He knows nothing. He's just a(nother) gassy attention seeker.

GisAFag · 25/08/2020 22:29

Would you want to stay.. Its been a crap time. Brexit negotiations were hard enough then..... WHAM the shit hits the fan.. Covid, intensive care, a baby, his right hand man going for drive to test his eyesight to see if he actually drive, A level and GCSE fuck up.. I'd run for the hills... A few lovely teas with the Queen, a massive monthly pay cheque.. But all the shit no thanks, i'll stay poor and content
.

yolio · 25/08/2020 22:34

He will never see a poor day again. But not sure if he will see Carrie too often going forward if super injunctions are to be believed.

Get out the violins stat!

Anyway he got his day in power, it's not working, he's a lazy horny git and should go ASAP. Was never fit for high office IMO.

His replacement is my concern though.

Facelikearustytractor · 25/08/2020 22:35

He hasn't exactly been around much - even before he got ill he was a part-timer. It's basically Cummings who is PM anyway. His FIL is trying to start a bit of a debate about Boris not being up to the job for ill health. His comments are about as subtle as AIBU troll.

If he goes, could we just scrap the last election and start again? I worry who would take over to be honest - the rest of them look like ageing The Apprentice rejects, and I can't see any of them standing up to Keir Starmer and not look like an over privileged bumbling idiot, but I guess any one of them can't do any worse than Boris.

Would you want to stay?

Let’s see:

Brexit negotiations - isn’t it an oven ready deal, just pop it in the microwave?

Covid - probably best not to tell people to socially distance and then make a big thing of shaking hands? Although a miraculous recovery on Easter Sunday is perfect.

A baby - this is at least No 6, and I seriously doubt his “hands on” efforts amounts to much more than baby sling photo ops.

Cummings eye test drive - why didn’t he just sack Cummings?

A level / GCSE / BTEC fuck up -well let’s just blame the civil servants eh?

ScouseQueen · 25/08/2020 22:42

Gove will be Murdoch's favoured candidate to take over. He's also conceited enough to think he is the best person to steer us out of the trouble that Covid and Brexit between them will cause. More down to earth Tories would think 'not touching this with a ten foot pole'.

However, Gove's main headache longer term is that he's simply not likeable. People like Johnson, as we saw in December. He's a lying miserable shambles as PM, but some people like him. Whereas no one likes Gove full stop. Hard to get elected as PM without an ounce of likeability. The only alternative is to to be dull but incredibly competent and I think Starmer has that nailed down.

thecatsatonthewall · 25/08/2020 22:49

Johnson is a clown, look at his tenure as Mayor? zip wires, floral bridges, water cannon.
Then take a look at his private life... 6+ children from 4+ different woman.
Immature at best, any man who came on here with that track record would be burned alive.

I hope he goes, like Farage his time seems to be up.

Really don't care who takes over, we've probably had the 3 worst PMs of any era: Cameron, May & Johnson.... who could do worse? Brexit and Covid are here, there isn't a lot left to screw up.

Devlesko · 25/08/2020 22:49

It's come to something when I don't want Boris to resign.
The thought of Gove, another wet mouth slobbering idiot, ffs.
I wish Priti racist Patel would resign though, blood on her hands.

SabrinaThwaite · 25/08/2020 22:52

A few lovely teas with the Queen, a massive monthly pay cheque

Johnson was raking in much more cash as a backbencher - MP salary, £275k writing bollox for the Torygraph faithful, and all those lovely corporate gigs with all those lovely added (28 yr old) extras.

HateIsNotGood · 25/08/2020 22:54

Oh ok Thwaite - I'm actually not a 'supporter' of anyone in politics really - just giving a pov about another human being.

i do apologize for assuming you actually were interested in Albania (past and present), i didn't realize you just did a little googlie or wiki and arrived at Hoxha randomly.

Btw - the EU have recently scuppered all the Albanian people's efforts over the last 15 years to try and join the EU - seems the smell of Hoxha still lingers.

Anyways you sound most righteous in your demands of the longetivity of a PM - hopefully you apply the same demands on yourself in your own employment, irrespective of what your T&Cs state.

SabrinaThwaite · 25/08/2020 23:00

Hate you’re Albanian (or with Albanian parents) right? Hence the reference to Hoxha assuming power for decades, as opposed to Johnson being voted in for 4 years but potentially thinking it will be just fine to fuck off after little more than a year.

But you’ll get your Brexit, which is what you voted for.

SabrinaThwaite · 25/08/2020 23:02

I’m self employed, thank you for asking Smile

toastmeahotcrossbun · 25/08/2020 23:05

Really don't care who takes over, we've probably had the 3 worst PMs of any era: Cameron, May & Johnson.... who could do worse?

Off the top of my head - Priti Patel, Gavin Williamson, Liz Truss, pretty much any of the cabinet, Gove, Jacob Rees Mogg, Mark Francois, etc etc
This current Tory party has got to be the worst parliamentary party in living memory. Anyone decent was kicked out over Brexit

SabrinaThwaite · 25/08/2020 23:09

Albania joining the EU?

Seems there are a few hurdles to overcome yet - like an independent judiciary, overcoming corruption and organised crime and improving public administration.

ec.europa.eu/neighbourhood-enlargement/countries/detailed-country-information/albania_en

Funny how you want the UK out of the EU but want Albania to join?

52andblue · 25/08/2020 23:21

placematting

yolio · 25/08/2020 23:22

Boris Johnson faked his illness, did anyone else hear that?

Just so he could leave on health grounds in January when Brexit is done and dusted.

I am not saying he did fake it at all, just could be a Cummings strategy. He was out of hospital pretty quickly and as for the rumours of ventilation, well that would have taken a lot more time. Anyway I am just musing here because anything is believable after Cummings took a drive to see if he could see alright.

QED.

Norabird · 25/08/2020 23:26

@missmouse101

He has said he definitely is not.
And it's not like he has a history of U-turns or anything...

I think he'll "Get Brexit done" at whatever cost and then run for the hills and leave someone else to clear up his mess.

MushMonster · 25/08/2020 23:31

Boris will do whatever the boss, DC, says.
That could not be more clear!
I reckon DC will be our next PM.

yolio · 25/08/2020 23:32

He is tired and bored now. Has another offspring now and by all accounts things ain't going great. Poor little Wilfred.

It is all too much for a lazy person indeed.

We shall see. When does Parliament resume anyway?

Norabird · 25/08/2020 23:33

Who is Alexander?

Alexander Boris de Pfeffel Johnson - champion of the common man.

toastmeahotcrossbun · 25/08/2020 23:34

We shall see. When does Parliament resume anyway?

A quick google says 1st September so next week. I bet he's already thinking up an excuse to try to get out of the next PMQs

yolio · 25/08/2020 23:35

Not David Cameron, shock!

I know who you mean, but I think he will prefer to be turning the wheels in the background forever.

Wonder if the next PM (after Johnson takes to his bed) will keep Cummings on.

Brexit is nothing to worry about it seems either.

Had to laugh at that. Thanks.
