To feel ignored on MN?

See thread here.

My advice wasn't even agreed with - just completely ignored and the same advice given twice. Do I have to pass some sort of test before anyone acknowledges my posts here?

Not the first time either!

oh him again, he's a right pain in the arse

can see why you need the ky now

SueBarooeeooeeooooo · 04/10/2007 14:58

It's not mouseketeer roll call, though. Does anyone really make sure to list everylast person who has responded? Is 'thanks everyone' not enough now?

thinks this would not be good for my OCD

MorticiasMother · 04/10/2007 15:00

Oh you know about his arse then? Yes, a very unfortunate incident concerning a cattle prod.

Are you flossing dear? You seem to have left most of your lunch there today.

SueBarooeeooeeooooo · 04/10/2007 15:00

shaking head vigorously at the idea of bandwidth-sapping acknowledgement-avalanche posts

lou33 · 04/10/2007 15:01

that wasnt my lunch...

MorticiasMother · 04/10/2007 15:02

Jesus says to remind you that he is everywhere and he is watching you always dear. Not a threat, just a little comforting fact!

SueBarooeeooeeooooo · 04/10/2007 15:02

I'm always really depressed when I see more people have posted and then I open the thread to discover 24 three word posts.

I much prefer reading big juicy long sentences, even if they are dripping with snark.

Vikkin · 04/10/2007 15:02

So how much is the Anusol? Now I know where to get it.

lou33 · 04/10/2007 15:03

over to m2pw.......

MyTwopenceworth · 04/10/2007 15:06

Well, I never thank anyone for anything...but my point was that I thought that the OP was talking about those times when a number of people have given the same advice and the op has chosen to acknowedge them - but not all of them.

To say 'thanks all' is, imo, enough. BUT, if you have, like my example (and like I think she's on about), 3 sets of exact same advice and you don't choose to say 'thanks all' (which would obviously be enough), you choose to say specific named thanks to 2 but not the 3rd....then the 3rd is going to wonder why you chose to thank the other 2, instead of all 3 or 'thanks all'

Do you get me? - I was just saying I think I know what the op is trying to say.

MorticiasMother · 04/10/2007 15:09

I used to see people getting congratulated for a really intelligent post that was basically just a repeat of one I'd made earlier down that was ignored!

Plagarism!

SueBarooeeooeeooooo · 04/10/2007 15:12

Ah, fair enough. But I still think you'd have to be in a bit of a sensitive mood to let that get to you. Most of the people who get noticed are noticed because they've got a mouth on 'em, though, not because they give the bestest advice ever, if that's any comfort, but I do see the point.

toomanygraves · 04/10/2007 18:40

deeply saddened, sueb, that you don't think a spate of acknowledgement noise posts would be a good idea........

StrawberryMartini · 04/10/2007 18:57

Oh my goodness finally someone has understood me!! Thanks twopence. Hey did you all see my lego thread?

OP posts:
MyTwopenceworth · 04/10/2007 21:43

What lego thread?

MargosBeenPuttingSpellsOnMN · 04/10/2007 21:45

It's called "stepping over"

Happens to me sometimes

rantinghousewife · 04/10/2007 21:47

Am I the only one who's proud of my 'ignored' status then?!!

SueBarooeeooeeooooo · 04/10/2007 21:54

Well, I was kind of gunning for ignored status, and then people started saying hello and stuff, and it sort of ruined the whole mistique I was trying to create around myself.

I did consider being nasty to babies and having a sordid quickie with an ugly old pensioner, but I decided being lynched was probably not a good ice-breaker.

SueBarooeeooeeooooo · 04/10/2007 21:55

And that's the second time in a week I've mis-spelled mystique.

HairyIrene · 04/10/2007 22:01

rantinghousewife · 04/10/2007 22:02
