i literally don't drink plain water. i drink a can of coke zero with my lunch and another with my dinner, i try to drink green tea with my breakfast but.. this almost never happens and i give in and have an iced coffee/milk tea (cold, milky tea), it's really bad, i get headaches but i can't bring myself to drink water.
@CheetasOnFajitas i just.. don't really drink anything until we get home/to a cafe/to a shop
So you don’t exercise then?

sugagi · 17/08/2020 17:36

@CheetasOnFajitas yes i do Hmm if i'm out on a walk i'll wait until i get home like i said. if i'm exercising it's generally at home so i can just into the kitchen and get a drink of my choice there.

Struggle to drink tap water ..but I can drink fizzy water if it's cold ...although I do have to make myself drink it...

pigeonfarts · 17/08/2020 17:38

Digging an early grave OP?

Ninkanink · 17/08/2020 17:39

I would start with squash to get your water intake up, and then slowly dilute that over a few weeks to where it’s no longer got much squash in it at all.

Or, just drink a little water, even one sip, every day. When you’re used to that slowly increase the amount.

If you can get into the habit of having even one glass on waking and one before bed, that would be a big improvement.

Water also tastes lovely infused with lemon/lime or cucumber. Or watermelon, or any number of things. Fill a jug, add some slices of whichever you prefer, then refrigerate.

Or do the above but use sparkling water.

I’ve never liked water really. I could drink it, and did, but I’d never fancy it nor choose to have a full glass or two. But because I am fairly health conscious I made an effort to get better at it and now I do like the taste and can easily drink many glasses a day.

Lauren83 · 17/08/2020 17:39

I don't either, I usually have 4-5 coffees and maybe a few sips of juice/cordial with my evening meal but that's it. It's not that I hate it I'm just not in the habit and never feel thirsty/dehydrated

Ninkanink · 17/08/2020 17:40

Also, cold milky tea is absolutely fine to drink. Especially if you’ve made it yourself so it’s not too full of sugar.

Glamazoni · 17/08/2020 17:41

Wow you all drink a lot! I literally never feel thirsty. I drink a large coffee first thing in the morning and most days that’s all I drink. I don’t get headaches and my wee is a normal colour.

PerfectionistProcrastinator · 17/08/2020 17:41

My bladder winced just reading that. I’d have a uti by the end of the day if I existed on that amount of fluid for 24 hours!

I think you’re crazy for not doing much about it, you could be storing up future health problems for your kidneys.

Theres probably a lot of people that don’t drink plain water, but instead they drink diluted squash or copious amounts of tea or coffee.

SchrodingersImmigrant · 17/08/2020 17:41

Temperature of water is its taste basically

SunshineCake · 17/08/2020 17:42
@SunshineCake i know it's bad for you.. but i tell myself it's not as bad as it could be because i have the one with no sugar Wink
As long as you aren't intolerant to aspartame. Either way. Devil stuff. Put some in a glass and add a copper coin..

stayathomer · 17/08/2020 17:42

I honestly used to be like you and hated water and then I was parched once and there was only bottled water. I'd advise against river rock, which tastes metallicy and would say don't have it too cold, but do have it a bit cold. Aim for even 1 glass of water/small bottle. Make it like your Everest, as in I have to drink this, as if it's medicine. Do this every day and within a few weeks it'll be a habit and before you know it you'll be enjoying it. Definitely start with bottled water, a lot of tap waters/water from water filters dont taste nice and you need to have a nice one to even have a chance!!!

sugagi · 17/08/2020 17:42

i normally make the tea the night before with a tbsp of golden syrup and leave it in the fridge overnight and then just add some with some milk in a glass, is that really bad? Blush

I don't like it either but will happily drink it with loads of ice cubes and some lemon or lime juice. I like Juicy water as well, especially the raspberry one. The only time I drink just normal water is in restaurants if there's water for the table and I don't want to drink too much wine - so not often!

Holothane · 17/08/2020 17:42

We drink loads of coffee or squash.

HyaluronicHippo · 17/08/2020 17:43

TMI alert but What colour is your urine?

Ninkanink · 17/08/2020 17:44

No that’s not so bad.

You can eat soups or broths to get your water intake up.

Or a cup of warm stock/oxo/Bouillon/bovril.

doadeer · 17/08/2020 17:45

Your body must get used to it. I have always drank a lot of water when I was pregnant and breastfeeding I drank 4 litres or more and my wee is usually clear the be honest. When I gave samples it was always transparent.

If I stopped drinking 2 litres I would feel dreadful as I'm used to it.

LivingoffCoffee · 17/08/2020 17:45

Honestly that's so unhealthy and will effect you sooner or later.

Get a big 1L water bottle, fill it every morning with filtered water and a bit of squash, carry it around with you everywhere to remember to drink throughout the day.

stayathomer · 17/08/2020 17:46

Ps the people who drink tons of water, I honestly think it's like anything, your body gets used to something, when I used to drink small amts/no water I didnt have issues, but the more you drink the more you need. Now if I lower how much I drink I fully dry up, because my body is used to that amount of water

stayathomer · 17/08/2020 17:48

When I go back to my parents' house, I have a glass of water as a treat!
Oh my god this is so me!! Our water definitely isnt as bad as it was in some of our other houses, but my mum's house has the best water ever, rivals most bottled water!!!

Chanjer · 17/08/2020 17:49

I'll drink it if there's nothing else.

I drink a lot still though, but genuinely dislike drinking water. There's equally effective ways to hydrate, more effective tbh

SchrodingersImmigrant · 17/08/2020 17:50

Think about all that wrinkles....

CheetasOnFajitas · 17/08/2020 17:51

A TABLESPOON of golden syrup in your tea? Bloody hell. How are your teeth?

Ninkanink · 17/08/2020 17:52

Oh...misread that! Thought it was a teaspoon.

Try to cut that down slowly to a teaspoon.
