'chester freezer'

I'm not defending chester draws, but at least I can understand how it happened.

I've just seen someone talk about their 'chester freezer' on Facebook. There's no excuse.

@OilBaron

I've recently been looking at chests of drawers recently and because I see 'chester drawers' on here so much, I actually have to stop and think which is correct nowadays Grin

I genuinely thought the term was 'escape goat' until earlier this year. I thought it came from an old medieval saying when people who'd committed crimes would escape from a town on a goat. So an 'escape goat' was the poor goat who had to carry a big fat criminal on its back all through the countryside. I have no idea where I got the story from but I much prefer my 'escape goat' to the correct 'scapegoat' Grin

OMG - I love this about the escape goat!

Best thing on Mumsnet today.

Back in December a frequenter of our local Facebook page was asking where she could get herself a reef.

Turns out it was a festive adornment for her door.

@ChanklyBore

On the recent thread about Pontin’s I clicked through and read some of the Pontin’s reviews on trip advisor.

The word chalet was deeply underrepresented amongst a forest of shalleys, shaleys, chaleys, shallys, shallies and a shalee.

We went to pontins years ago when DC were small. They spent the week arguing about whether it was a 'compartment' or a 'department' Grin. There was a sign on the swimming pool door there saying "no outdoor shoes who's aloud". DC asked if they could wear quiet shoes.

My personal favourite is when I get messages from the ex saying things like "R be late picking the boys up this week. R be there at 11".
It took me ages to work out that "R" meant "I'll".

@ExCoffeeAddict

Play it by hear .... again close but...no

I honestly cannot stand when i see "draws" or "draw" meaning drawers or drawer sets my teeth on edge!!

When our house was built the architect sent us plans that included an 'on sweet' bathroom.

I had a friend at uni that thought Robin Hood carried a Bowen Arrow.

My favourite of all time was “barraco barner”. Gemma from Blackpool’s (UK) tweet cracks me up every time GrinGrin

My ds at 3 would say “banana petito” in Italian restaurants:)

Haworthia · 15/08/2020 16:22

You know that noise people make when they come across something cute? How would you spell it? To me, it’s “Ahh!”

So it throws me when people on FB “arrr” or (even worse, “rrr” Grin

“Arrr what a lovely baby” just makes me think a pirate is speaking.

I saw "blime me!" On a Facebook post yesterday. I've been intermittently chuckling away to myself ever since. Blimey.

I recon a good 50% of the people in my town believe any is spelt eny.
