To feel judgmental over actor Chris Pratt playing golf 4 days after his wife gave birth?

Obviously I'm BU in the sense it's none of my business but I'm a fan of his movies and this has kind of soured how I feel about him.

If I'd just had my first baby and my husband fucked off for a day of golf (it's not a short game is it?) I'd be devastated, even with all the help she's no doubt getting from family/staff etc.

Also can you just imagine if it had been the other way round and it had been Katherine who'd left her newborn for a day at the spa? The comments on her Instagram would be brutal. Barely an eyebrow raised on his...

It really annoyed me that on Parks and Recreation he was made out to be the worlds biggest animal lover. They made episodes about it. He’s a massive hunter and throws his pets out when he’s bored of them. Horrible man.

googybob · 15/08/2020 09:22

@TryAnotherNickname what?! that seems crazy.

NotYourHolidayDick · 15/08/2020 09:22

Dear god OP

You started a thread judging a man and woman about their parenting choices surrounding a newborn. You literally invited comments.

Now you're jumping up and down about it not being a contest and that we dont know your situation.

You're the one who started a post judging. Not me 😂

LemonTT · 15/08/2020 09:24

OP

Take your own advice and “just do you” . The irony of saying this to a pp who was actually minding her own beeswax when you are dripping with judgement is astounding.

Russellbrandshair · 15/08/2020 09:25

I was still in hospital on Day 4 but you do you

So what? Not every woman will have the same experience as you will they?! I’m quite sure they have an army of nannies and nurses to help. Of all the people to feel sorry for, I find this a really odd choice. Instead of feeling sorry for mega rich Hollywood celebs who have access to every whim they desire, I’d reserve your sympathy (or judgement?!) for women whose partners have left them to bring up a child completely alone in poverty or awful circumstances. What a bizarre post.

TryAnotherNickname · 15/08/2020 09:28

@googybob interestingly there’s only this article online that refers to it now: www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.express.co.uk/celebrity-news/51479/Natural-birth-is-best-says-Penny/amp

At the time there were photos in all the papers / hello of her hobbling to the restaurant and lots of ink spilt over the whole thing - they’ve clearly tidied things up online using right to remove as someone has pointed out how wrong it looked.

bee222 · 15/08/2020 09:28

@QuarantineDream

Yeah the way it ended with Anna Farris didn't seem great. I've given him the benefit of the doubt before but he certainly comes across as regressive.

Jurassic World really annoyed me as well with the redhead running round in heels and a perfect bob for most of the film.

Why has that got to do with Chris Pratt? Apart from the fact he was also in the film? Did he wright the screenplay and insist she wear high heels? (Genuine question)
Bluntness100 · 15/08/2020 09:29

It's not a pissing contest. I found it hard; you didn't. You have no idea what my personal circumstances were.

Well exactly. This applies to you too. Not just everyone else. You can’t be judging some one you don’t know and their personal circumstances then shouting folks can’t judge you. That’s not how it works.

You had issues, fine. Doesn’t mean his wife or he does. Stop judging people you don’t know. It’s not a pissing contest.

Confusedaboutcars · 15/08/2020 09:32

You’re too invested in this OP

Yeah, is that you Anna?

StoneColdBitch · 15/08/2020 09:33

I really don't think it's very kind to judge new parents, full stop - and especially when you don't know the circumstances. I've had two children. After one birth I recovered quickly and would have had no issue with my DH going out for a few hours on day 4. After the other birth, I had a much more difficult recovery and did still need his practical help on day 4. Without knowing how his wife is feeling, or what other support is available to her, it's impossible to judge.

googybob · 15/08/2020 09:33

@TryAnotherNickname I've watched far too many dodgy movies to not have my newborn with me after just giving birth! 🤣

Butchyrestingface · 15/08/2020 09:34

You have no idea what my personal circumstances were.

And you have no idea what CP and his wife's personal circumstances are. She might have told him to go golf to get him out from under her hair for a few hours. If I were married to that gormless mug him, I know I would.

WhereTheCrawdadsSing · 15/08/2020 09:36

I seriously doubt the wife has just been left to it though..? I'm sure they have help / staff. So I think it's a bit different.

I love Jurassic Park in all its guises! Looking forward to the next one. Yes, the gorgeous red haired woman running in her heels is ridiculous, but, I mean, it's about dinosaurs in a big dinosaur theme park, so I try not to take it too seriously!

FenellaVelour · 15/08/2020 09:37

Don’t think this has anything to do with Chris Pratt.

It really annoyed me that on Parks and Recreation he was made out to be the worlds biggest animal lover.

That was... a character 🤨

The man is an utter dick but some people here are really getting muddled up about what actors do.

milveycrohn · 15/08/2020 09:37

Frankly, I've never heard of him, but not sure I care what others do after a newborn.
Surely its between them.

C4tintherug · 15/08/2020 09:38

He didn’t even say the baby was born 4 days ago. I reckon it’s not brand brand new. Look how chubby the arm and hand is, and it’s not really very wrinkly. I think the baby wasn’t brand new when he posted that.

AlexisCarringtonColbyDexter · 15/08/2020 09:38

So, to sum up: you dont want people to judge your personal circumstances because they dont know you, yet you feel perfectly justified in negatively judging two celebs that you have never met and know nothing about.

Alrighty then.....

FizzyGreenWater · 15/08/2020 09:39

Do you honestly think that a woman would want the kind of man who takes selfies of himself on a golf course with a massive twat's cigar in his mouth, around her when she's just had a baby?

It's such a lovely magical time - I'm sure she doesn't want it enveloped in a cloud of testosto-knob any more than she has to.

canigooutyet · 15/08/2020 09:39

Maybe she's one of those that you'd never believe she just had a baby.
Many woman within days of giving birth are back to work; doing the school run; doing all the housework etc.

At least it's not one of those super secretive, only a few people do hobbies. Wonder how they've been getting on during lock down and if now their families are involved more in these secret hobbies Grin

Margotshypotheticaldog · 15/08/2020 09:41

What happened to the dog?
Is his wife a Kennedy /schwarzenegger? Apologies for the spelling..... Can't be bothered googling! 😊
I'm sure they have a team of people making sure she's more than comfortable.

googybob · 15/08/2020 09:42

I love Jurassic Park in all its guises!

🙋🏼‍♀️😊

Mintjulia · 15/08/2020 09:42

It didn’t bother me, in fact it was lovely being able to nest quietly with newborn ds.

therhubarbbrothers · 15/08/2020 09:43

He's a prat but it's between her and him. I expect she has help from a Nanny etc.

angelfishrock · 15/08/2020 09:47

18 holes for an amateur is four, maybe four and a half hours. You seriously couldn't cope without your husband between breakfast and lunch?

not 4 days postpartum with a pretty shitty labour, lots of blood loss (hence extreme tiredness) and a 3rd degree tear which left me in agony and a constantly crying baby.

derxa · 15/08/2020 09:47

What a randomly hilarious thread. I've no idea who any of these people are
