AIBU to think letting your kids eat McDonald's with you at least 4 times a week is disgusting?

Just that basically. I've recently noticed since lockdown has been lifted a neighbour heading out almost every night (sometimes afternoon) with their kids and coming back a short time later with McDonald's. It's been at least 4 times this week that I've. Noticed, I only noticed cause our dog is always sitting on the back of the sofa looking out the window and barks when the neighbours leave/come back. The kids are in and around the age of 7/8 (or there abouts) they did this pre-lockdown too, though.

I will add I am under no circumstances a Saint or healthy eater, I do eat takeaways, McDonald's etc. And feel bad judging but I feel like this is an awful way to feed your young kids especially at 9pm at night. So yeah AIBU? Happy to be called a judgmental bitch here.

Ah you should stop being so damn judgy. I know of so many kids with autism that literally eat nothing else and struggled like fuck when McDonald's was closed. Sometimes you have to do what you have to do. My eldest ate nothing but sausages for about 2 years at one point. Fortunately my neighbour wasn't looking in my window and posting about me on the internet.

TheAquaticDuchess · 07/08/2020 21:57

You started out this post saying you noticed it happening almost every day in lockdown and now you’re saying you’ve only noticed it this week.

Either you’re changing your story to make yourself look better because you’re embarrassed that you were called out, or the whole thing is just you trolling.

MolyHolyGuacamole · 07/08/2020 21:57

Omg no call the police

AnotherEmma · 07/08/2020 21:58

@LikeDuhWhatever

They should go to Five Guys instead. Their little hamburger is to die for and they have the PERFECT chips!
Nah, the chips are too salty. Five Guys is pretty good (milkshakes are good) but overpriced. My favourite is Byron but I think they're in trouble, most are still closed.
Daisychains20 · 07/08/2020 22:00

Surely this is for real! Think someone is bored tonight!

If this was even a tiny bit true I would hate to live in a street like this where everyone looks at what shopping/food is being brought in to the house, where the neighbours all bitch to each other about one another and then there is the dog that barks every time a neighbour moves...sounds like my idea of hell!Hmm

Abouttimemum · 07/08/2020 22:00

I’ve had all sorted of burgers from all around the world and various different standards of restaurant and the Big Mac is my absolute favourite. I don’t know why people are so arsey about McDonald’s.

Anyway I’m judging this family the most for going out to get it when they can get it delivered straight to their door.

JoeCalFuckingZaghe · 07/08/2020 22:00

they did this pre-lockdown too

I've honestly only noticed it this week

Which one is it?

You’re not nosey or a curtain twitcher but you’ve been taking to your other neighbours about it? Mmmhhmm.

Daisychains20 · 07/08/2020 22:00

Isn’t for real * mine should read.

Idontbelieveit12 · 07/08/2020 22:01

It does seem like a lot, however some kids have issues with food. My 3 year old literally has 4 meals that he will eat on rotation. It’s draining. He doesn’t have autism however I suspect he has sensory issues. Nobody else would notice this as they don’t live with him and notice all his little oddities. Some children will only eat one or two types of meal. There are any number of reasons I suppose. They could just be lazy or they could be struggling. If you’ve only noticed it this week it hasn’t been going on long?

kazzer2867 · 07/08/2020 22:02

Happy to be called a judgmental bitch here.

^^This.

Newpuppymummy · 07/08/2020 22:02

Not something I would do but I guess they could be getting carrot sticks and fish fingers some of the time wiry a bottle of water. Still not ideal but better than Big Mac and fries with a fizzy drink.

Thisismytimetoshine · 07/08/2020 22:03

@roarfeckingroarr

YANBU, setting the kids up for a lifetime of eating issues
What does this mean? McDonalds sell food, don't they? Why would it give anyone eating issues? 😂
CokeEnStock · 07/08/2020 22:03

It's food.mine would only eat protein in form of chicken nuggets for ages. At least McDs have some standards. Otherwise you are too nosy.

Anon247 · 07/08/2020 22:04

There are lots of unpleasant and unnecessary comments about the OP here.

Holyrivolli · 07/08/2020 22:05

Of course it is shit parenting. You’ll get all the shit parent apologists come on to say not to judge and give lots of excuses.

But it’s still shit parenting.

Illuyanka · 07/08/2020 22:06

I think spying on neighbour everytime they go out is waaaaay more weird and disgusting than having a McDonalds 4 times a week.

eaglejulesk · 07/08/2020 22:09

Poor children to have to eat such slop. I’d not feed McDonald’s to a dog.

And here we go..... The OP didn't actually ask whether or not you like McDonalds. I very much doubt the children the OP is talking about feel the same way as you do.

vodkaredbullgirl · 07/08/2020 22:09

Wow really. Does it matter, why do you even care?

FourEyedFreak13 · 07/08/2020 22:09

@FeelLiedTo the kids aren't overweight in the least

@maisieMolly damn. Will try better next time

@threesecrets it's not rough no but would be quite like an old Council estate, though isn't actually a council estate.

@LikeDuhWhatever ooh love FiveGuy fries. Never had a burger from there though

BadTattoosAndSmellLikeBooze · 07/08/2020 22:11

I also live in a street where everyone gossips and bitches about each other so it's just the norm here.

Hmm I’d be looking on rightmove instead of out of my window at my neighbours.

Lockdownsucks · 07/08/2020 22:11

Do you have a life OP?

Emeraldshamrock · 07/08/2020 22:11

Are the DC over-weight or otherwise neglected? While it isn't good for anyone to eat take away 4 times a week many do it nowadays.

Msfoxy17 · 07/08/2020 22:11

I agree it's poor parenting. Whatever issues the family may have I seriously dont think mcdonalds four times a week can really be necessary. It's not the worst food by any means but it's lazy. Kids are probably snacking on other stuff earlier too if they're eating that late.

Ontheboardwalk · 07/08/2020 22:12

FourEyedFreak13 Stop your annoying dog yapping every time your neighbour enters or leaves their house.

Train your dog to stop annoying your neighbours

Emeraldshamrock · 07/08/2020 22:13

Okay saw update DC are not over weight.
How do you know they've no extra needs. Do all the neighbours know each others business It sounds like the street of nightmares.
