Still no beauty treatments! (Latest Boris update)

My beautician just called me. I was booked in (rescheduled the 3rd time since June), but now due to the latest government update, we cannot do my session! FGS! 😡 it is just cancelled! - and I feel sorry for them too! They spent a fortune to get the salon ready for opening tomorrow and now they were told they still cannot do facials. 😔
I know this lot keeps making extremely short notice decisions - like they are just not thinking!

I wish there was a feminine woman in that blooming government so we could get beauticians back. (We had golf, football, formula one, barbers ... reinstated weeks ago!)
Or should I just go to the barber and get my monobrow separated? 🤔🤔

Unless I've played it wrong, golf doesn't include being close to a person's face where they can't wear a mask.

Why is it different to get my eyebrows done by a beautician than the barber doing it for guys? I would understand if there was one rule for all!

Yes YABU. A facial is so far off essential. When there is debate whether schools can re-open and local lockdowns being implemented there is no way beauty treatments are a priority.

Hair dressers also opened and as far as I’m aware women can also play golf it’s clear why golf is safer than facials, I’m not sure a feminist can control how Coronavirus is spread. YABU

I cannot even pluck up (pun intended) the courage to get anywhere near my eyebrows. I might take off the whole thing! 😂😂

I agree that beauty treatments are low on the list of what should be allowed. But if you consider what some treatments mean for some people it can change the importance of them.

So, a man can have his beard groomed, which is next to his mouth and he can do at home usually. Yet a woman who has her brows microbladed because she has no brow hair due to chemo or alopecia is being vain and cannot have it done, even though she could wear a mask?

It's not all just people having brow waxes and facials because they like too.

I mostly feel for all those businesses who had prepared to open tomorrow and then with less than a days notice were told they couldn't via a briefing on tv.

I’m kind of with you re: why women’s treatments and not barbers shaving a man’s face etc ... but wishing there was a “feminine” woman in parliament is just (also wouldn’t Priti Patel fit that description?)

They can do beauty treatments in Scotland but we still can't go to the bloody gym yet (and maybe not until mid September!)

I walk past a barbers every day and they are doing shaves. I can't imagine how this is different to a face wax.

OP I think he delayed beauty treatments as it's not fair on other businesses that were due to reopen like ice rinks which are easy to distance in.

Beauticians are largely female owned businesses - it does rather feel than the recovery is being led by men with their interests prioritised.

Lost me at "feminine woman in government". Any woman in government l, especially THIS government, has had to smash through wall after wall of old boys bullshit just to be there. The last thing they need is assessments of their femininity of all utterly fatuous things. FFS

My Dh's barber is not doing beards, or anything on the face, he say's he is not allowed.

It does seem a bit double standards, as men can have facial hair groomed but women can't go their eyebrows waxed.

My beautician has phoned this afternoon to cancel my forthcoming appointments. Hopefully one day they will reopen... I'm getting frustrated it just keeps getting cancelled and pushed back.
